Kim and Tig3rO6, yes it is heartbreaking. I have been crying all day for this guy. I just really and truly can’t understand people who would do this to an animal.

Luckily I was there the day the tech gave her one day notice. I’m good with that, I have always enjoyed working with animals.
My whine is about so call human beings who dump an animal because they are old or sick or just not wanted anymore.
We are putting down a beautiful old English bulldog tonight. His owners tied him up in an orchard and abandoned him. The young man who rescued him late last week then found that the poor old guy was deaf and couldn’t poop. He brought him into us and we have done everything that we can do for him but nothing has worked. We can’t do surgery on him because his age and his stress levels are so high that the stress of a stomach surgery will kill him.
The young man and the local community have asked us to do what we can for him, but all our efforts have failed. This beautiful soul can’t understand why his people aren’t there or why strangers are doing things to him that are uncomfortable, he can’t hear us telling him that he is a good boy and that we care.
His last days have been filled with confusion and pain in a kennel in a place that is strange to him.This is beyond my comprehension. I can not understand how anyone could do this to an animal that has been part of the family for it’s entire life. This animal gave you everything, its love, its devotion, it would have given its life for you if necessary.
And yet some people cant even be bothered to at the very least take it to an animal shelter where it would at least be put down humanly. They don’t even charge you for it. Hell you can claim you found it if you are too damned ashamed of yourself.
Please send prayers for him as we send him on his final journey tonight, he deserves at least that much.

Yes, I saw the spam in the classifieds and forums. I’ve also been on the receiving end of the spam PM’s in the past. It can’t be easy keeping ahead of the spammers but we all appreciate the efforts you have taken to do so.

The biggest thing to dealing with dominant pup/dog is to not allow, from day one, the behaviors you don’t agree with. It is much easier to enforce the rules now than it will be once he is bigger.
Puppy classes are a good way to get him used to other dogs at a young age and to teach him acceptable manners around other dogs. Then start a basic obedience class as early as possible too. This will start teaching him that even around distractions he still needs to pay attention to you first.
If he isn’t going to be allowed on the furniture when he is full grown then don’t allow him on it while he is cute and cuddly. You sit on the floor and invite him into your space.
If he nibbles firmly tell him no and get up and leave, ignore him as long as he isn’t doing something he shouldn’t be, for 15 minutes, then invite him back. As long as he behaves, he gets the attention he wants, bad behavior gets him ignored or put into whatever you deem his time out area.
Teach him to sit before each meal, with pups this may only last a second or two but It’s a good start and each day you can ask for an extra second or two so he eventually learns sit isn’t just pop your butt on the ground then pop back up.
If he is rough with your older dog then you need to step in and put YOUR limits of what is allowed or not, you as pack leader, can not leave that completely up to your older dog. You set the rules in the house. Teach him those from day one and you will have a lot less issues later.I’ve always had big dominant dogs, so far this has always worked for me. But I am very consistent with what is or is not allowed. Mine are all house dogs so I do understand how hard that can be when they are so dang adorable!

It asks to have the “I am not a robot” checked, once I do that it goes to the pick out photos that match the request. I pick them out and it goes into a pause mode which then goes to a “Verification expired. Check the checkbox again”.I have no problem logging in with my phone though.
I use Firefox as my browser and have a Dell XPS computer running windows 10.
