The store batch will be called Ocelot griffins. They aren’t quite leopards, but still have markings and spots.

Yay! I’m sure they’ll be awesome!

A glomp for Jinya for helping me get one right in the thick of crazy!

Now I promise I’ll stop spamming this topic XD

You could stick them into a slab of clay to dry, too, or when you didn’t want to hold it but not mar the paint by setting it down on its side wet.

Just thought of that, if it helps.

Also, as a side note, would inserting something into the gypsum during casting help the roly-poly problem while painting? It’d be like a little wolf-popsicle. If it were a little wood stick, and they have felt on the bottom, it’d be a trice to break off the little stick flush, and put the felt over it. It’d provide a handle while painting so they didn’t roll everywhere.

Did everyone that wanted one get one? I got two, but I only want one really.

I didn’t get one. I’ll keep an eye out and see if any fall out of people’s carts in the next hour, but could you keep me in mind in case that doesn’t work?

Dang…I tried to get home from work quickly, but fifteen minutes in store and bam, all out!

Oh, I hope I’m not at work when they come out! I have a feeling they’ll sell quick!

I’d love one of those reds, but all of them look nice, and I love the contrast between smooth and texture on the sculpt itself *squee*

ANY of the natural griffins that have cropped up on e-bay recently would have a fully endorsed squeak from me if they became available in store.

I do that. It’s quite helpful to be able to decide ‘nah, I think I might like spots better than stripes’ in photoshop, rather than in paint. I make a quick outline from the store’s blank photo, then color it like a coloring book, since I can usually do that in less time than setting up, taking a picture, and uploading it *lazy*

So, yeah, you’re not alone 🙂

So glad the males don’t have a ton of patina on them like the mommas. That picture has just enough patina and purple for my taste *selfish*

Couldn’t resist snagging me one; I’m very excited to see him!

I really like the ivories, I just wish they had a little more ‘age’ to them, like they’d been around the world a time or two and not fresh off the carver’s block.

That baroque gold grand though, I like it more and more every time I look at it.

I’ll cast my lot in too for not too much patina, light on the purple, teal eyes and that nice, dark antiquing. That e-bay griffin male just makes me drool. I was so excited when the mother came out, but without the dark antiquing it just doesn’t do it for me. I dislike when the patina looks deliberately sprayed into concave areas (like between the tail and the wings) in a fairly uniform line, I like the rubbed off look of the patina better.

So: e-bay griff is the perfect balance for me. I hope when they come out in the store they have that nice dark antiquing on them.

I’ll add my squeak to this too…a natural red fox (or even cross or silver fox) would make me squeal with glee, though I’d probably go for any of them in the natural colors.

As Fatal said, on the Livestream from yesterday, at the 3 hour, 22 minute mark. Melody can’t post a photo, due to needing to copyright it first.

And there I went and posted pictures without knowing. Melody, do you want me to remove those screengrab links?

Yeah, you should probably delete them from “Dropbox” too, if it is available to the public. I just want to be careful until we have copyrights filed. We never know which piece of ours will get knocked off somewhere,so we need to keep our bums covered.

The dropbox itself isn’t public, only files I ask for links too. But I deleted the files from the directory altogether, so any links to them won’t work any more. *dusts off hands* I’ll know better next time. Can’t wait to see them finished, I’m really loving how they look, and another PYO will be awesome.
