BooBerries is adorable. Nice grab!
All the collections so far have been splendid. They make me want to see more…Melody, take note! Black and green Pegasus babies would look great in the grab bag! How about a green baby with black mane, tail, socks and wings?
I just saw your thread right now. Maybe they will run it again.
Congratulations on getting your Iris. Lovely!
[quote quote=1500745 Here’s the pieces we have enough of to do a grab bag: Pebble wolves, foxes, horses, and cats, young and baby poads, baby pegasus ( but those are too hard to do as grab bags!) and we do have more baby unicorns , but I just did those.
I would love to see a grab bag of plainer, but still fantasy colored, baby pegasi; maybe a little more complicated but along the lines of the flying ponies from Disney’s Fantasia. Solid brilliant colors (color shift or regular) or even rainbow ponies with simple white or solid colored wings. IMO they don’t need complex feather patterns (which I love, of course, but can live without). I know birds in nature have the complicated patterns on their flight feathers but, well, I’ve never seen an actual photograph of a pegasus so coloration is subjective.
I too missed the brown standing baby kirin. Will there be more? I’ve had the original family for about 16 years and would really love to get the new member.
Yes, they are fantastic colors. Unfortunately, they are probably too complex to show up even as limited production colors. It saddens me to know that I will probably never see these in person or add them to my collection, but at least I can enjoy seeing their pictures. There is an overflowing fountain of talent in the artists at Windstone!
There is another consideration when discussing test paint sales. When I first joined (Dec 2012), test paints seemed to be mostly done by Melody herself. There were a few other artists who did exceptional work (some before my time), but the higher prices on Ebay were usually generated by Melody. Now she spends her time doing Grab Bags (which we all buy at record speeds) and sculptures, which don’t often get painted and sold. Gina and Laurie do GREAT work, and if I had the money I’d buy their work at the prices they deserve (DEFINATELY more than production pieces at least) and would be proud to display them, but they are not Melody. However, like a lot of people, I can no longer afford to pay upwards of $600 for a piece, no matter how much I love it. I’m lucky if I can buy the Grab bags and I’ve missed quite a few lately, something I never did my first few years on the forum.
Gina, I would really love to see all the new colors on the unicorns or winged horses.
Fantastic first Grab Bag Baby Unicorn, Bookers Play! She was one of my favorites. Quick, play the Lottery, any lottery LOL.
Gina, I’ve been avoiding Ebay for awhile but after reading your comment, I checked it out so I could give you feedback. In a word, beautiful! A couple of the pieces have me frantically searching my budgets for places to get cash! I love the New Growth color scheme – we don’t see enough green – but my favorites right now are the Celestial Sunset hatching Emperor (best color on best sculpt) and the Black Hibiscus Rising Spectral (close second). I would gladly display either or both in my house. Great job.
Garden Ninja, How did you do that?!!
Syn, for some reason I can’t see your pictures 🙁
Here is my baby unicorn, received last week: It didn’t.I’m having a really bad week – would someone please post these for me?
Got mine early today. She is in the third class picture, top row, second from the left end. In a batch of brightly coloured unicorns, she looks solid black. She is decorated with a dark green vine with wisteria flowers in dark purple and three ladybugs on her back but I couldn’t even see the pattern when she was in her plastic bag. I think I’m done with grab bags. Melody did a great job, as usual, with this batch, but my luck is holding steady at sucks.
I will try to take a picture of her with my new tripod. Tomorrow.
Tempest, you got one of my favorite types! Mine comes tomorrow, so hopefully you won’t have traded by then…of course, I might LOVE the one I get, so who knows? Keep me in mind, anyway.
Still drooling over all the baby unicorns so far. Hannah, I’s sorry you’ve had such a disappointing week and sorry you don’t like the black faced ones. Hopefully you can trade for something you’ll love. -
