Well I prefer number 3 with the most Patina color. Looks lovely when it kind of flows instead of patchy looking. I can”t post pictures but just got the Emperor from the store and these other CP’s all just recently.
Go here for pictures of the latest Copper Patinas
http://www.photoshop.com/users/windstonefanAh, see, the emp doesn’t do it for me – the blue up the nose is a hoot, though!
I always knew that’s what dragon boogers looked like! ROFL
I like extremely heavy patina (25-50%), very dark antiquing, and very little purple. Also, I like it when they copper used it the dark reddish copper (currently, we are using a lighter copper color)
Sounds like you and I have similar taste…now that’s MY kind of copper patina!
I like pic #3 the best, with the heavy patina and light lavender. However, I think the red eyes are very striking, and I like the ‘freckles’ they gave the OW in pic #2. I feel the freckles would brighten up the overall look of the heavier patina paintjob.
However, I was kinda hit all at once with the news this was something much different than I was expecting, and the adjustment yesterday hurt like heck, and I sure didnt feel better after leaving the office.
Doing a bit better this morning however…it’s a new day after all. 😛
This is gonna sound mildly cruel – but with a chiropractor, it’s actually better if the adjustment hurts, if they didn’t do enough to hurt, then the adjustment wouldn’t do anything long run.
From my sister-in-law who’s been going to a chiropractor for years….
I hope your spine starts to feel better soon, back pain is brutal, and it’s always crappy to find out that it’s not a quick fix (but really, what is?).
LOL…yeah…I actually expected it to hurt, the area hurt to much in the first place for them to do anything at all without it hurting…. but I was in a bit of a whining mood, and I was a grump that I had no aleve at home afterwards!
Well, at the moment I’m having to go three times a week for adjustments. Yes, the adjustments are…uncomfortable. After the first one I went home and was barely able to do anything, I overall hurt much worse. HOWEVER, the pain was…..different?
The sharp intense aching that was super localized was majorly decreased, while it was more of an overall pain in the general zones where the adjustment affected. After that night’s sleep, I got up the next morning and could tell a definate improvement. Not a cure, not feeling back to normal at all, but my pain levels were lower than they had been.
Of course, I wanted to ‘test it out’ by taking a walk….sadly my endurance was WAY WAY lower than what I should be able to do, because I became sore very quickly.
Second adjustment was pretty much the same thing, but again I noticed a lessening in the intensity I had in that localized area that made me go to the doctor in the first place.
The muscles in that entire area feel like they’ve been run over by a truck (probably them readjusting to the insert making my legs level…and them twisting my spine BACK into position with these adjustments)….but I’ll take muscle pain over localized spine pain any day.
Granted, I wear out quick at the moment…it’s impossible for me to lay about like a dead fish…it’s not only against my nature, but not particularly feasible with three active homeschooling kids anyhow. To a certain degree, I’m always pushing to see what I can do. (dont worry…I’m not out trying to lift the car or be superwoman in any way…just normal day to day things like taking the kids out for walks, cleanin the house and gardening)
After giving myself another week of ‘easy duty’ I’ll probably try some biking on our local paved bike trails. Might be a way to get some activity in without impact to my back area. I’ll have to ask at my appointment this morning.
Thank you muchly for all the kind wishes and suggestions..they’re a huge support while going through this. <3
Really…neither is better. It really depends on why you’re collecting and in what state you’re able to enjoy a piece.
I have several windstones that I purchased chipped or scuffed, that I have no intent of replacing or repairing. I’m ok with them the way they are. This is mostly the case with very old windstones.
However, there are certain sculpts that a chip (especially on the show side) would nag the daylights out of me…and in that case I hold out for what I want in mint condition. It’s just more cost efficient that way.
My opinion is that you should save up for what you want, dont ‘settle’ for less just so you can replace it later.
However, if you’re ok with a chip or two, just so you can enjoy the overall look of a piece, go ahead and nab a cheaper one. Chipped dragons need love too.
I really just want these in a nice warm antiqued ivory color, like netsukes. I don’t like the glitter at all, but that’s just me. 🙂
CUTTLEFISH NETSUKE.
ALL OF THEM…In this finish!!!
If surgery even had been an option I would have refused it. The idea of surgery is downright terrifying. As it was I had a hard time dealing with going to a chiropractor in the first place. Doctors in general scare the wits outta me.
So, it’s a good thing I went, even though I was seriously hoping I’d simply hurt something at work and it’d be a ‘one visit fix’. If I’d put it off much longer I’d be in much worse shape.
Really, wearing a shoe insert isnt a bad thing in the long run, and wont be a very big deal. However, I was kinda hit all at once with the news this was something much different than I was expecting, and the adjustment yesterday hurt like heck, and I sure didnt feel better after leaving the office.
Doing a bit better this morning however…it’s a new day after all. 😛
Where is everyone seeing pics? All I’ve seen is a fuzzy vid silhouette of what I think was the male….
April 23, 2012 at 7:48 pm in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #878725I’m pretty certain that’s a fake. It could potentially be a repaint…but I’m leaning more towards fake. The eye sockets look wrong to me.
The dino coin trumps them ALL!!! <3

Due to Melody’s creation process…a white casting means very little about what stage the sculpture is in.
If I’m not mistaken, gypsum castings are made…carved upon or patched to build up or refine areas, then another casting is made so it can be further refined. This process continues until finally there is a version that is the final piece.
Then they make a resin prototype that’s sturdy enough for moldmaking purposes.
Personally….I dunno how she does it, I sculpted using this method for a couple years and it was MURDER on my hands. I wimped out and went back to clay. I prefer softer squishier workin material. 😛
Ooh, saw on the vid. Is it confirmed that there’s more than one, or is that just hopeful thinking?
Also, I’d love to see a photograph of it! The vid was sorta fuzzy on my comp, but that may have just been my replay. I wanna seee DETAILS.
Also, how far along is the sculpt? How much of the detailing is done?
where’s a pic? I want to see too…but cant find where it’s posted.
I didnt get to play this round, been soooo busy lately. Ah well, it will be fun to see everyone else’s pics!
