XD Okay, okay. I’m also guilty of putting hot chocolate powder in my coffee. And sometimes if I’m feeling especially naughty…ice cream or whip cream. I’m very guilty of not being a REAL coffee drinker.

I like hot tea and ice tea (usually unsweetened). One of my favorite things to do with ice tea is to prepare a jug of cold brew ice tea and add in a package of powdered ginger drink mix (you can get these in asian grocery stores). Absolutely DELICIOUS! It makes the tea lightly sweet and gives it a kick too.

I’m so sorry for your loss Kaytana and especially that you didn’t get a last chance to be with him. I’m sure he understands because a loving companion always does.

I prefer tea to coffee because coffee leaves a nasty aftertaste in my mouth (I also don’t like coffee without creamer, I can drink tea straight). However, I drink coffee in the morning because it’s quicker to make than tea. Gum thankfully takes care of the aftertaste.

What an awesome poad collection Hannah! I especially like the ‘mother’ poad with the gold trimmed tigerish pattern. The blue scaling is so pretty with it!

No, never heard of spaz stix! I googled it, that is a model car paint in a spray can! Neat. But it is solvent based. If you use it on PYOs it is possible it will eventually blister if this paint drys into a water-tight film. Acrylic paint “breathes” a little, so moisture doesn’t get trapped under the paint layer. This is problem with gypsum stuff if the piece is subjected to extreme humidity and temperature changes.
But maybe it will work fine! I don’t know.

I was wondering about that because whenever I open them up the smell is a bit…overwhelming. I wasn’t sure what it would do to the gypsum so I’ve always laid down a base of acrylic paint and used the Spaz Stix color shift as accents on top of the acrylic (I use the 2 ounce bottles they sell for airbrushes, not the spray cans). I’ve been too nervous to cover a whole sculpture in it. 🙂 Lol, Frank has a bit of Spaz Stix accents on him. I hope he’s not blistering!

Great to know you guys found a version of the color shift that CAN readily be used on gypsum though! I’m looking forward to seeing sculpts in it.

🙂 Thanks for posting more pictures Natasha! And yup, they sure do let the gold show better. They also show a bit more of his shading. Which is great! I’m very glad you like him.

Ela, that’s awesome to hear! It’s always really cool to see a paint job that makes you like a sculpt you weren’t crazy about of before. That it’s something I painted is super flattering. Thank you so much! 😀

All the compliments really pick up my spirits. Thank you all so very much. I’m glad the ‘Gamble Commission’ idea turned out so well. I’ll definitely do it again some time in the future.

                      Hi Ms Melody!

I saw the cougar in new color shift paint you posted to FB.

                      Love it!

What about a baby Pegasus in this? 🙂

But I would definitely go for an Artcic or Fennec…..

(This is Melody) I did try a baby Pegasus.
This paint is very odd. I am experimenting with it on other sculptures. I painted an Oriental dragon with it and it looks … interesting. Sometimes it looks great, like on this guy, sometimes it is not so impressive. But, yes I will experiment with it!
This cougar is one of seven different color-shift cougars I have painted. The others are equally odd and beautiful.

This paint looks great on most of the pebbles.
                      Pam took this pic.

Oh my gosh, so cool! 😀 I have to ask, did you use the Spaz Stix color shift paint for the cougars? Color shifting paint is SO cool! I love the stuff! I have three or so different ones in my painting kit. -sighs- I gotta go get an airbrush to use them more effectively though. That’s next on my hobby shopping list. 😉 I want to use the mirror chrome paint on the pyo oriental when it comes out. Mirror chrome and then nebula theme on the underside of the body…or perhaps the other way around. I am SO STOKED for this!

As an aside, I bet this stuff would be AMAZING if it were selectively used on a Secret Keeper. -sighs- I’d die I think. Anything with minimal texturing, smooth scales or surfaces (like the wizard robes perhaps). That must be why it looks so good on the pebbles.

Here is the result of the ‘Gamble Commission’ I offered! Natashavonlemke requested gray, black and red and ‘Dark Talon’ here is the result. The color choices pushed me outside my comfort zone so it was a great exercise! I quite like how he turned out. My only disappointment is that he lightened up a little in my photos. It’s a bit difficult to pick out his gold accents here.

🙂 The color reference images I was given helped inspire his patterning. It was quite fun designing him!

Of course I track the winners of ebay auctions, but as an intellectual game, not to try to acquire something. It is interesting to see who is buying what. I was collecting other things on ebay before they started to hiding the identity of bidders, and it was a lot more fun to be able just to see who won something.

If I remember correctly, ebay started using concealed identities to cut down on off-ebay offers to sell a similar item to a losing bidder, or to buy an item that someone else won (as happened to Chloe). A lot of the “second chance” offers were scams, sad to say.

Ebay is a public venue and I think that the identity of a bidder/buyer is also public (if you can figure it out). On the other hand, sales in the Classifieds here are private and should stay that way unless the buyer chooses to post a photo of something.

🙂 I also like to look to see who wins, but not for the purpose of contacting them about the piece. For me, it’s also a game. I like to see how much disposable income some people have. It’s crazy and hilarious to watch! And I admit, I do get envious…but not of the pieces they win. I get envious about the money they seem to have. It would be nice to have the funds to go crazy like that (because a Secret Keeper would be awesome!). -laughs- I’d certainly pay off my car faster. 😀 It’s cool that they’re lucky enough to have/earn that kind of money. As someone who paints as a hobby, I think it’s even cooler that Windstone can earn money off of their art because it is super hard to do that.

People who have the funds to spend on luxury items (and art is a luxury item) keep a business like Windstone in…well, business! So no matter how envious I may be of their money, I can at least also be thankful about them too. Because I really love Windstone Editions!

Soooo, would it be horrible to ask about the young uni grab bag this soon after Christmas? 😉 I have Christmas money in an envelope that is dedicated to a grab bag uni – young or baby, but I so hope young.

I’d prefer young myself. 😀 I like the unusually posed sculpts. The sitting pose of the young uni and the scratching dragon are just neat to look at! With the young uni, I’d like something to go with my male unicorn (I can always dream). I’m excited for this one because I had to pass on the last young uni GB. Depending on the paint theme, I might splurge and get one this time around.

                              And finally, this.

The movie I loved as a teenager and inspired a dragon drawing phase that probably annoyed the hell out of my art teacher. I haven’t seen it in probably close to 20 years. Going to sit down with it tomorrow while everyone else is gone!

Ah…Flight of Dragons. LOVE that movie. Though it’s plot is more based on ‘The Dragon and the George’ by Gordon R. Dickson than the book ‘Flight of Dragons’. Hey, any movie where James Earl Jones voices the villain is amazing. This one is no different. And produced by Rankin/Bass on top of all that! I have it on dvd too. 😀
