Oh, I *love* the tentacle look on his left wing! They eye on the right wing is great, too. And I really enjoy the rows of sideways eyes down his large scales – they’re just similar enough to the big wing-eye to be a theme, but the different angle makes them more subtle!
The bow tie makes him very dapper. 🙂 Be sure to post pics once you have his dangly object completed; I’m curious to find out what it will be!

Wow, these guys are coming really close together! From the description I thought they’d be a little more spaced out, to let people’s wallets recover (or to let them get one home and fall in love, so they’ll rush out to buy another!) Especially since many collectors do like to focus on a particular sculpt. If all the Fledgies are gone in a week, that’s tough on people who love the sculpt but couldn’t afford a test paint this particular week.
Maybe the larger pieces will be more spread out?
You’re right about the wallet part. I hadn’t realized that. I did get the sense that all of one style was going to be released in a row, though. Releasing all of one color in a row may not have been a better choice, for those who like to collect the same color. Now that makes me curious…
I knew they were going to come out in runs of one sculpt, but I guess I thought the part about offering other pieces ‘in between’ meant in between the TGs of a sculpt, as well as in between the sculpts! So there’d be the TG Ruby Fledge, a castle, TG Citrine Fledge, a test paint griffin, a Pebble Cat, TG Topaz Fledge, a print, a Sir Garlen, a candlelamp, TG Peridot Fledge, and so on through the whole group and on to the next.
Maybe there’s going to be longer breaks between the groups, if the groups themselves are all listed close together.

Ironically, I’m too much of a completionist to try for color families; if there were only three pieces in a given color, I’d fret about the ones that were missing. I like my families big! 🙂 My White family includes almost every Western Dragon in production, but with test paints that would be impossible and I’d be bothered.
Better to conga-line these things because then they always look like a complete grouping! 🙂 I do try to limit my congas (operative word here may be “try”…) to my absolute favorite species/sculpts, lest I basically end up with a bunch of small families by default. So I do fantasy Fennecs, natural SRFs, fantasy Cougars, eye-catching OWs, and all the Lap Dragons I like/can afford. 🙂 I’m trying not to end up with two congas of Pebble Dragons, but we’ll just have to see.

Oh, yeah, seconding this! I was so thrilled that the “Cool Colors” category was a thing, and they were so helpfully divided; that was definitely a deciding factor when it came to spending so much on a grab bag.

I was hoping for under-$300, myself; I figured if Pebble dragons were $200, no way was a scaled dragon going to be less than 300! Oh, well. From those class pics, they are definitely worth it!
Sometimes we collectors just have to wince and then fork over the dough, huh. 😀 The exchange rate would definitely be an extra ‘ouch’ factor.
(Heeeeyyy, Melody and Co, have you considered moving to Canada?? 😀 Then the exchange rate would work in my favor, and Kim wouldn’t have to deal with it!)

That was $372 I probably shouldn’t have spent, but in this moment I really couldn’t resist.
Went for the “Cool” option, though there are several in the “Wild” category that I liked, too. There were even a couple of kois that appealed, so hopefully if I don’t like mine I will be able to find a trade.

Beautiful kimono (and sushi)! The cranes are amazing.
If her eyes were blue, I’d say go with cream tabby point – that would be nicely subtle. Since they’re green, though, I vote for either solid white. or for cream tabby in a Van pattern (color only on the ears and tail); I think it would let you add color without putting it too close to the kimono where it might distract or clash.
