I was very blessed to be able to visit two of the national parks this summer. We live in a truly amazing world. Just a few of my favorite memories from Glacier National Park:

Jules, my emerald male, was my 14th birthday present. For 20 years he’s been the only male in my collection. Finally, as a birthday present to myself this year, he has a buddy. I think they make a handsome pair.

I haven’t done a short-hair flapper yet, but once my autumn PYO swap piece is done I’d like to paint a few memorial pieces for family members of our little buddies we’ve lost over the years.
This is an extremely first world whine, but I went over to the employee flu vaccine clinic expecting to get one (1) shot… only to be told I’m due for THREE additional ones! Both arms hurt now >_<
Okay, moving on and being properly thankful to live in a country where disease prevention is so readily available.
Hummingbirds can be so aggressive when they’re protecting their turf! I guess we should be thankful they’re tiny and not the size of hawks, or we’d have a real problem… LOL
The leaves are juuust starting to think about turning in my neck of the woods (central Indiana). The burning bush in my side yard has started to turn beautiful bright red.

Natasha, I’m so very sorry. Losing one loved one is so, so hard, let alone two so close together. You and yours are in my thoughts.
