Let me start off by saying that I know many people have it worse off than me (many in this forum, even) but I feel like complaining…First, it was chronic depression and decades of various therapies and antidepressants. I coped, like many, with food and continued on with my life. Then, it was Type 2 diabeties which I managed as diet controlled for fifteen years. Ok, its doable. Next, in between complications of chronic lyphodema, I get hit with congestive heart failure. More bad news, more pills. Then my pulse jumps up – yep, now I have atrial fibulation (I know I’m spelling these words wrong; everything is underlined in RED) – more pills. Meanwhile the implications are piling up: heart attack, stroke, blindness, loss of limbs, vastly shortened life span, etc – such a cheerful picture. I’m taking so many medications that my dentist won’t prescribe antibiotics or pain meds after dental surgery – I have to go to Urgent Care and get an MD to prescribe these short term helpers. Then, the mild tremors in my hands, that I have been complaining mildly to my GP about for years (“Its nothing; don’t worry about it”) worsens. A visit to a Neurologist and its confirmed: Parkinson’s Disease. More drugs and complications; the drugs that will minimize the tremors now will, with long term use, result in more uncontrolled movements later! Parkinson’s has no cure and if the other things don’t get me the Parkinson’s will. Last Monday, I got diagnosed with an admittedly minor problem – a large hernia on my abdomen. (Larger is better according to my GP).

Ok, I’m done. Where do I get off this merry-go-round?

    Thanks for letting me whine….

HUGS!!!! If I could, I would help you stop that merry-go-round. But for now, all I can say or do is…HUG! And whine away. Sometimes a little whine does make things a bit betterer.

I have never seen any vehicle so perfect or so awesome. It looked like a bluebell.

And here’s me and the beautiful new car with the super helpful Dad! 😀 <3

    SO EXCITED! 😀

I think you have already named her! Bluebell?

    CONGRATS on your new car!

Hugs Lysithian 🙁 facebook can be such a nasty place. A few years back it led to me being practically at war with my brother’s girlfriend (common law wife now I guess) and our relationship still hasn’t recovered. (Not that we had much of one in the first place since she’s always mysteriously gone whenever any member of our family tries to visit which is awkward and rather annoying.) We’ve only now gotten to a point where we can be in the same place together without having our hackles up constantly. I hope you can get your name back! 🙁

Thanks Falcolf! Alas it’s official, RamboBear is gone. And I’m okay with that. Kinda figure it’s a blessing in disguise. Facebook can be a bad place. And now no more stalker!

Sorry about the war with your brothers girlfriend. Ha, I know that hackles up constantly feeling! Glad you are getting past that.

Wow! You added me on Facebook a long while ago but I didn’t know you as RamboBear so I didn’t accept 🙁 I’m sorry! I’m more sorry that some lame girl can’t handle her sh** and had to take you down with her. My boyfriend and I had someone stalking us a few years ago. We knew who it was but still. He changed his name on Facebook to his middle name+mom’s maiden name. Granted, he forgot to change his name in the URL so if you search for him, because his name is in the URL you can still find him but if you see him posting somewhere, you wouldn’t know it was him by the name alone. Could you sign up as RamboBear2? I know how much it sucks to lose your pictures 🙁 that’s what I’d be most sad about. I lost one of my favorite pictures of said boyfriend and my favorite cat when my last phone randomly died. I still hold on to the almost bricked phone in hopes that someone could extract the photos one day. *hugs* I’m sorry some jealous B is putting you through this 🙁

Thanks WolfenMachine. And no worries, I should have told you who I was when I added you!

I’ve given up on facebook. Every thing is gone. Two trips to Oklahoma to a mini horse show. Notes to my guy. Yeah. None can be replaced. But it’s okay. Just brought him and I closer!

Glad your boyfriend could get rid of his stalker by changing his name. Hopefully you two wont have to deal with another stalker. They can get a bit mean!

And keep that phone! You never know, you might find a way to get your old photos off! I have an old clunker phone with videos my youngest kid made. They were adorable! No way to see them again. But at least we have our phone!

    R.I.P RamboBear.

    RamboBear is dead

There’s no requirement that you signup for social media accounts using real names.

Actually, when you sign up for an account on a website (even this one!), you must agree to their terms of service. That’s the big long text almost no one reads…
Anyhow, even though I do not agree with it, Facebook DOES have a Real Name Policy in place.

(how to change your name https://www.facebook.com/help/173909489329079 )

There is quite a bit of controversy over this, of course.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facebook_real-name_policy_controversy

Regardless, it’s unfortunate that someone was spiteful enough to report you. If you wanted your account back, you could take steps, but it’s equally reasonable if you don’t of course.

Thanks, Jennifere. Most users don’t even read TOS, but it’s true that a social media firm can ask anything they want in TOS and cancel accounts for anything they wish. BUT, they do nothing to verify identities used online when you create an account (no correlation back to name or address), as your bank would do before opening an account for you.

No surprise that it’s controversial as many people globally use social media in places where free speech doesn’t exist & they might be punished by their government’s for what they say on social media and therefore use aliases.

But, ousting users for TOS violations is bad policy for online businesses as they make their revenue by number of eyeballs on ads, so if they lose users, they lose ad revenue too.

Ousting a user cuz a chickiepoo has a vendetta against her ex is just bad sport!

Those long things no one reads! Yes I did read a bit of it, but I did NOT want my real name out there. RamboBear has been me for so long, figured it should be okay. If I was like here, where my real name is hidden, I would have used a real name to sign up. As long as I can go by my nickname. Which is RamboBear. Grrrrr..just annoying. If I can’t get that name back. I will be asking to delete that account. As it is, I can’t access it, I’m not on anyone’s friends lists, I can’t do anything, but I’m still getting emails saying it’s this persons birthday or whatever. They should stop taunting me with that!

Ugh! Sympathies on the chickiepoo who doesn’t know how to handle her problems maturely. Hm, on Facebook I had my name as my nickname but tweaked it so that it shows as my alias with my real name displayed. I understand that may not be an option for you but thought I’d suggest it as a possibility for the future. I’m sorry you lost all your pics and messages though. That really sucks!

Thank you for the suggestion. I’d rather not have a real name out there, especially now, knowing there is a nutty chickiepoo out to get me!

in reply to: Facebook killed RamboBear #935868

Sorry to hear about your Facebook woes, Lysithian. As to proving to Facebook that’s your account, wouldn’t your RamboBear email account prove to them that the Facebook account belongs to you?

I’m surprised that after the Edward Snowden revelations about government spying on all the social media sites, that people still want to use sites like Facebook, which don’t protect people’s privacy. But, those who do, should be allowed to do so, imo. There’s no requirement that you signup for social media accounts using real names. Many folks aren’t too happy with the personal data gathering done by social media firms, selling it to brokers (or the government), & violating privacy and plenty of folks don’t use their real names for that exact reason.

Hope you can get this resolved.

Latest email from facebook now says they can’t prove I’m the owner of RamboBear. Hello, they can just email me at rambobear and there you are! ME! Gaaaaahhh!!!!

And all that spying stuff…NO! I do not need my real name out there, especially now knowing what a nutcase my guys ex is. She doesn’t need to know my real name.

in reply to: Facebook killed RamboBear #935867

What kind of proof of identity would “they” accept? Have they told you? Can you just get a notarized affidavit stating RamboBear is an alias of yours?

That situation stinks, but happy for you that you have a boyfriend you are crazy about! Even if he does come with a mean ex. 🙂

Hmm…notarized affidavit stating I’m RamboBear? Interesting idea! Thank you!

And thank you! My boyfriend is amazing! His ex…well…she isn’t! LOL!

in reply to: Facebook killed RamboBear #935866

Well that sucks! You should tell facebook that it was obviously a nickname and that lots of others on facebook don’t use their real names either so how is that fair? If you do want it reopened with your real name and you show them ID, they will allow that so you won’t lose everything. Then maybe you can just change your name after although I am not sure how easy it is to do. I have another facebook account with a different last name and no one ever asked me to prove that name. I don’t really use that one anymore though. It was originally just for business friends but I may just delete it as my other one has all my stuff and pictures on it. Many people also have more than one account or change their names because of marriage and such so you should be able to do something to get it opened up again. Facebook doesn’t actually delete your account, they just block it so they can bring it up again.

They aren’t asking for my real name, they want proof that I am Rambo Bear. I send them a picture of my dogs old pedigree! Thanks forum member who suggested that! Good idea, but it didn’t fly!

As for my real name, no, wont do that. I don’t need to be on facebook if it will come down to that.

in reply to: Facebook killed RamboBear #935842

What an awfully inconsiderate thing to do! >:( It’s not like she was helping anyone, including herself, in any way – she was snitching out of pure spite.

In the meantime, I suppose you could try asking them for your pictures back. Otherwise, feel better soon! No one deserves that kind of mean behavior.

Thank you Stormbreeze. Yes it was done from total spite. How many people out there have nick names? My friends list alone had quite a few. And if I am known by that name, it isn’t really a fake name!

I had the option to get my pictures but the link wont work. It says I have to sign in. But it wont let me sign in, vicious cycle!

But life goes. It’s just a silly website, right? And the snitcher has to live with herself and she lives far far away from me so yay!
