I received my lovely unicorn today.Thank you.I love the colors and the way the paint shows every hair.Very nice job.It has a red/orange mane and tail and a gorgeous teal body.I don’t have my camera ready so if the painter has photos please post them for me.Thanks again for adding to my little herd.
Crappy picture, I’m sorry – the eye wasn’t glued in and was falling out. I never could get a picture that did this guy’s tail/mane justice – I was really happy with that.
Sorry it took so long to post, I haven’t been online much these last few weeks. Here’s the ornament I got from kohl777.
It’s very pretty! I love the peacock, and the sewing and beadwork are very nice. Thank you!I’m glad you like it! I’m sorry I forgot to put my name or that it was for the ornament swap in the package – I was just excited to ship once it was done!
My ornament was delivered just before Thanksgiving! I hope my person liked it!
Susie is super fast. My PYO is felted, and ready to go! I’ll ship tomorrow!
Anne McCaffrey’s Pern books were part of what drew me to Windstone – the fledgling dragons were exactly my mental image of a fire lizard!
I am sure Susie could send you a new felt pad if you e-mail her.
I just don’t know that I would get the replacement pad in time to ship on the 25th.
I’m finishing my swap – last clear coat, gluing in eyes – and I found out I lost the felt. I’m at a loss – I don’t know how to proceed. Do I cut a felt bottom out of other felt? Do I contact Windstone and see if I can get a replacement? I feel fairly stupid – I was trying to be careful, and I really don’t know what happened.
I would go further than this, actually. I would paint the wolf a somewhat dark grey, then use a very thinned paint “wash” to add shadows to the recesses (as well as darken the piece overall) and then lightly drybrush a slightly lighter grey over top. Then, knowing me, I’d go back with the dark wash on any place that was supposed to be shadowed – like under the jaw, at the knees and and under the tail. But I’m known for too many steps and never leaving anything alone.
Double post!
He’s done and sent off to his new owner. I have a few cell phone pictures, I just need to upload them and post them. Unfortunately, his paint scheme was so dark that the pictures didn’t do him justice, but I love how he turned out. Gluing in all those rhinestones was a PAIN – but also turned out awesome. Pictures also don’t do them justice.
I thought I was done. Looking today, it needs more shading. But there’s time still!
Done except for clear coat and gluing in the eyes. Phew – I put it off a bit and I was worried I wouldn’t get done.
Signed up! I love making things, and I love getting packages! Win/win!
This is really making me happy to think about. This is my first Christmas since leaving my husband, so I’m really looking forward to getting a package for me that I didn’t buy for myself! Plus bonus of putting together a gift for someone else!
