When it comes to a ‘strike’ policy I’ve found things like that are iffy at best. If someone is the kind of person who enjoys toying with others and they have the opportunity to knowingly do harm and get away with it, they’ll take advantage of it. I’m a fan of no-tolerance and/or one-warning policies. Even better if it’s associated with a ban tied to their IP–i.e. anyone else living with them would be penalized for their folly. That might seem incredibly harsh BUT it puts an added stigma to behave like a civilized person since they’d be facing repercussions at home.
There is a gaming Forum that is extremely popular in this regard. Also, it is not easy to join. I’m not saying that Windstone needs to follow suit in that regard, but I think they should knuckle down on people who have multiple accounts. Unfortunately, it also means that any family members using the same IP will have to verify that it is in fact, them who’s using the account, and not just a duplicate for one owner. Once the IP is banned, it’s banned. So those who live under one roof must take into consideration the possible consequences of their actions, should they misbehave. Even so, the issues with IPs are difficult: what if said banned person moves to a new location? It would be a different IP, because they’d have a new Provider. IPs aren’t unique to each individual User. I know this was discussed before in another Thread, so I don’t think banning a User would be entirely effective. Merely a temporary fix. With the Strike system, complaints would have to go through a review, with both parties presenting their side. It wouldn’t be just some random marking another’s account, for whatever reason. This way, even if a previously banned User somehow rejoins, they’ll be quickly found out. People rarely ever change much. Eventually, old habits will kick in, and the truth will out. Personally, I don’t think that banning Users is the way to go. It just won’t work like we’d all like it to. A feedback system needs to be implemented, and it will ultimately be up to the rest of us to do our research before entering into a transaction with someone new. Also, with new Users, I think using a safe-guard through PayPal for Trades is a good idea, however, how many of us are left with little to nothing in our banks after a Grab? That also presents a dilemma, and this overall issue is something that needs to be seriously discussed if we want to keep the Forum we know, and love.
Honestly, the more I think about it, the more work it would be for Windstone. It is a small company, in which the people running it, do more for us than we can imagine, and they most certainly don’t have to. It’s definitely not a characteristic that other companies share. At least, not on the same, personal level in which Windstone deals with us. Why can’t we all just get along, and be kind to each other? If only for the consideration for the interest we all share? Jeez, people.

The only problem is, I don’t think there’s a way to make a list there like dragonmedley has done, so diligently. The alphabetical order would be difficult, since feedback would end up scattered over time. It’s something that really needs to be seriously considered. If a rating system can’t be applied in the Forum, itself, maybe separate the Forum from the Windstone site, entirely? I understand that it’s an issue right now, because it’s the actual company that runs the Store and the Forum on one site. If they were run separately, by another Host, wouldn’t that take away the liability? Just brainstorming here…
I also agree with the others, that it’s because the Forum has grown so immensely just in the past couple of years, that the problems have become much more apparent. Drama will always happen wherever people gather. It’s just a matter of time. People, are people. There’s nothing that can be done to change that fact. We can only try to remain as friendly with each other, as possible. If only to keep this Forum the generally pleasant place that it is. And, not to knock on dragonmedley’s efforts, but I do think it is in desperate need of a Feedback system that can be kept up-to-date on a regular basis, and not just a User-run Feedback list. However, like I said in my previous post, it does need to be utilized until a better program can take its place.

Originally, before I ever joined this Forum, I spent about three years just browsing the Threads, seeing how people treated each other. My prior experience with anything Public, had always been poor, to say the least, so
I was extremely, however pleasantly, surprised by how welcoming this Community was when I finally did join. Today, the Forum is drastically different from how it was back then. So much so, that several people know that I’ve been moments away from selling everything, deleting my account, and saying goodbye. Forever.Regarding interactions with others through transactions, whether they be trades, commissions, sales, whatever, I cannot say that I’ve always been perfect. Like many others, I try my very hardest to keep a clean record.
I believe that communication is vital to the well-being of each and every transaction. Whether the news be good, or bad, or just somewhere in between. For example, recently, my own personal life has interfered with several transactions falling through, or delayed, or whatever reason. I have never considered making excuses to be acceptable. However, if someone has proof of their situation, I’m all about letting someone take care of that business first, within an acceptable time period. Life happens, and just as I would be understanding of another who’s dealing with the crap that Life throws at us, I would hope others to be understanding of me, too. We all love this inedible addiction that are Windstones, but gypping others, cheating, lying, and taking advantage of someone just because you think you can, is wrong. I’m not a very trusting person to begin with, but even I have lost trust in several Forum Users that I once considered to be really good friends, for the very things just stated.I would be very sad to see the Forum taken down, however, the reasons behind it, and seeing plenty of what goes on in and behind the scenes, I completely understand the justification for it. We, as a Community, need to act together to improve upon these problems, if not make them disintegrate, altogether. I really like the Strikes idea. The “Windstone Hoard” seems to have become much too large to be able to manage itself without some kind of system. And, like a previous Poster said, there are a lot of new people. We need to utilize the Feedback Lists. For the health, sanity, and overall well-being of everyone who participates on this Forum.

The baby I had to pay more for than the other two Ithink. Its nice keeping a color family together. They were not super popular so I got them for a good price. I look forward to a family picture. 🙂

☙ #224 KOI GB '22 Young Qi'LinI got mine today too, woo! I like her but she wasn’t a favorite pick so I’ll consider trades – specifically looking for a purple one (esp white-faced) or the rootbeer brown & white ones with brown patches on the sides.
She’s a cute little thing with olive green-dark gold color shift leaves (with a bright green color at the center of some of the scales), reddish-magenta berry spots, and a magenta-copper patch between her ears behind her horn that matches the melon-pink color of her inner ears; grey metallic eyes and a gold horn. First pictures are with flash where you can see the sparkle paint; the other two pictures are without flash.
I didn’t participate, since this particular ki’rin was the only one I wanted out of the entire Grab! xD

I really, really, really need to know all about this:
Melody, make my entire year and tell me this is going to be a new LP/store-stocked color?!? I’ve been yearning for a purple-with-blue-overtones color scheme for years… (Not too long ago, in the Conga Line thread, I jokingly said that I wanted to talk you into making “Iolite” a color scheme – and I linked to a photo of some cut iolites. They were almost exactly the color of this dragon!!)
If that became a production piece I would probably start crying and fanning myself madly like a woman from the Georgian era who can’t breathe for the awesomeness. (Or because back then they wore corsets, which I can’t even imagine the discomfort of.) That lap caught my eye too – absolutely spectacular! I’d love to see it with eyes in. 😀 (Lavender, I’m imagining?)
I’d be right there swooning beside you!
Lavender eyes would be pretty, but when I first saw it, my mind jumped immediately to silver eyes… ♥
I wouldn’t normally suggest blue eyes.. but when I saw this color scheme, I immediately thought of the metallic dark blue graphite… like these..

A cream pearl base with your Violet Flame wings,mane tails ect with violet flame markings or spots.. Eyes and jewels Your could go with red purple pink orange or as she said Albino.. Just thinking about it gives me chills.:)

That day was very hard for me, as she would have been 12. A few of you also know that I’ve been having an extremely rough time, dealing with life. Ms. Melody, the talented angel that she is, painted this lovely, and gifted her to me. She has rosettes, but they’re extremely difficult to capture due to how dark she is.
These are the best pictures of her in which the rosettes are just visible.
Just want to issue a shoutout to everyone who has been here for me,
and to Ms. Melody for this spectacular creation.
