I got mine in today! It was supposed to be here Saturday but it magically stopped updating the tracking on Friday night and didn’t get here until today >< Nail biting!

Mine appears blue and red (or brown) in normal lighting, but seems to change to purple and gold in darker lighting! So cool! I took a bunch of pictures and hopefully got the idea across below.
Under normal lighting his belly is purple and he has green/gold detailing and green/gold hooves 🙂

When I brought in my package I saw there was actually 2 of them, and I knew exactly what had happened! My boyfriend got me one for Valentines day <3! He knew how much I was hoping for a white spotted one, but I got another totally color shifty one instead XD Either way, it's super sweet of him 😀

This one is very purple – I think she is in the store picture on the left, with the little green bit on the snout and the green detailing on the scales. She's mostly purple and red with some teal on her feet. She's beautiful and my favorite of the two, but they will be BOTH up for trade for one I like better 🙂

    Thank you!! 😀

The dapples were done with several coats of paint and lots and lots of blending with a small brush 🙂

I know I messed up by taking my grievance public, and I’m very sorry for that.

Honestly, I didn’t see you airing any of your grievances on the forums directly (though, maybe I missed that?). You inquired on where a forum member was, didn’t go into much detail, and then I didn’t hear anything about it until I found the discussion on Facebook. Again, unless I’m missing something I think the way you went about it was about the best way you could have. Unfortunately sometimes there’s a problem lurking in the shadows that doesn’t get resolved until it gets proper attention, and oftentimes that isn’t pretty, but it’s better than the issue never getting raised and looked at.

I can see what Lupus and SPark and others are saying about the drama always being there – I joined in late 2010 and the forums seemed pretty peachy to me then, but I wouldn’t have had any idea of drama that may have happened in the past, and I know that drama has happened on occasion since I joined. I see your points, and I would agree that there are definitely bouts of peacefulness on the forum that pervades for the majority of the time. Yes, the good outweighs the bad. Unfortunately when the bad happens, it’s what we tend to remember, and it can certainly ruin things in a hurry, and I do feel that lately the bad has been pervasive on the forums. It may not be the majority of posts, but when there’s something nasty or dramatic going on it doesn’t take much to ruin the experience as a whole.

I like the ideas of having a moderator list somewhere very visible, and of reminding new members to check out the rules section when we are welcoming them (this is very much a standard of many forums, so I don’t think it would be unwelcoming!).

Are more moderators needed? I would hate for that to be true, given that we have been for the most part able to stay decent to each other. But I know Kiya has a baby and family to take care of and hasn’t been around very much, that Jennifer has her own business to tend to and is very busy, and of course John is very busy with Windstone business. I believe Shihiv is around when people PM him but I’m not sure about general watching-of-the-forums business. Again, I would hate for the forum to be a place where moderators are just lurking around waiting for something to go wrong, and that’s certainly not what I am suggesting – just throwing out ideas to see if it should or should not be considered. I think this may simply be best answered by the mods themselves – are you guys overwhelmed? Or are things relatively easy to manage?

Perhaps more moderators are not needed, and the more visible list of where to contact a moderator would do its job just fine! I would add to that, that the list should include who is best to contact for what (Contact John for copyright infringement questions, Shihiv for general moderation questions, etc) and the best place to contact them (Jennifer sees emails much quicker than PMs for example).

EDIT: I took forever to write this post and didn’t see Kiya’s response until after I hit save XD Hi Kiya! *wave*

    Hi Tig3r06!

Once you have posted the picture in your gallery, you can actually right click on it and copy the image source and then use the HTML guide with the proper code in order to post the image to a thread.

I hope you don’t mind, but I grabbed your image from the gallery as I mentioned above and I’m posting him here:

The code I used to put the image here was this:

If you replace the link between the quotes with a link to another picture (any picture already existing on the web, in fact!) you can link it in a thread 🙂 Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone! As ever, your compliments always touch me 😀 I can’t wait to paint some more! I’ve been doing a lot of repaints lately (naughty!) so I won’t be able to post them here, but if you keep an eye on my website I will update it when I have pictures of them all 🙂

jedwards, I am so happy that you love her! What a great compliment – I’m pretty sure it’s every PYO artist’s dream to be compared favorably to Melody! Thanks for the great trade (I’m itching to get home to see if Joule has arrived!!) 🙂

Well said John. There are so many forum members that no longer bother to come here anymore, and their loss weakens our community as a whole. So what can we do?

I am hoping that the feedback list gets utilized much more often, and strengthened from it, but that’s just one piece of the puzzle. What else can we as a part of this community do to squelch the bad behavior and raise up the good? I believe that some are willing to call people to task for it but is that breaking the rules?

I love this community but I’ve been more and more scare over the years precisely for the reasons you started this thread. So I ask sincerely, what can we do? I want Windstone to be as (relatively) drama free as when I first started posting here 5 years ago, and I’m more than willing to do my part.

Edit: I agree with meowmix. It does seem like a lot of drama gets dragged across platforms and it truly shouldn’t. This is more a matter of policing the forums though, as it seems clear some people will skirt the rules. What can we as a community do beyond reporting behavior? Is there anything?

Gosh, they are all so beautiful so far!! MandBsmom, yours is my favorite that I’ve seen yet – which is totally surprising because ALL of the other ones posted are on my wanted list! XD This seems to happen to me a lot. I should know better by now than to pick favorites before good pictures are taken!

in reply to: Eye color listed but not on the chart? #941658

Any chance we could see black eyes added to the list of options?

Also, is the metallic tan close to gold?

This may be too late to be of any help Meowmix, but the metallic tan eyes are actually named quite well because they really do look like tan.. but with metallic flecks! XD

This Keeper has metallic tan eyes, and I also used a similar tan color for part of his scheme. Hopefully it helps!

Woo! I got one too! I am most excited about the white based ones with the colored spots .. so if anyone gets one of those and doesn’t love it, please think of me! ^^

These are my favorites. Oddly, it’s pretty much the opposite of my Peg wants XD Something about these kirins just makes the whiter schemes look beautiful <3

Also, I am going to use this thread to post something that you may see in future grab bag threads more often – after some lengthy discussion on Facebook it seemed like it could benefit us all to be reminded of this when grab bag batches come out, so I am going to try to make a point of posting it in all of the new grab bag threads. I know it does not apply to grab bags alone, but that certainly seems to be where most of the trading comes into play, and I want all of our forum members, new or not, to be well informed 🙂

A friendly reminder to new members and veteran members alike!

Please participate in our user generated Feedback list! Be aware of your potential trading/buying/selling partner( s ) feedback before entering into a transaction with them! As always, please take the information contained within with a grain of salt – just because someone has excellent feedback doesn’t mean they are guaranteed to be a great trading partner. This list does however express the experiences of many forum members and has benefited many forum members. Please remember to send feedback in as well, so the list continues to grow and stays current and accurate.

It is vitally important to stress that this list is user-generated and user-hosted. It does not reflect upon the opinions of anyone at Windstone Editions. It is unofficial and must not be mistaken as a Windstone Editions endorsed list.

They’ve been getting smaller and smaller over the years, especially with the grab bag class pics. I’ve asked about this before, but was just told that Melody takes the pictures with her cell phone. If there’s any way we could get class pics taken with a camera again, that would be awesome! I really miss being able to see the patterns and have an idea of what I like before they arrive at my doorstep!

Here’s the Peg that I got – I’m kind of disappointed, as I was hoping for something with lots of color shift and if nothing else that it would have some rainbow sparkle paint on it.. and with a batch so small, you’d think I’d have a decent chance at that!

The paint job is fantastic, but there’s barely any color shift and not a speck of rainbow sparkle paint. I guess I was mistaken in thinking that this batch was focused on those aspects 🙁

He will be up for sale or trade.
