Had this one night and loved it

      Iridium
      1/4 Blue Curaco
3/4 Gingerale or Sprite (any white fizzy pop works)

You can change the ratio depending on how much Blue Curaco you like (or how fast you want to get drunk 😈 )

I was wondering , since it looks like you may be on a roll on restocking store items, if we may see the Amethyst OW soon?
Or Maybe the long awaited pink OW or maybe a glacier OW ?? squeek* squeek*
Also is there a new color in the works coming out soon on any of the dragons with so many squeeks going on and all the various new colors on Ebayed stuf ?
Oh , and hows the search coming along for eggs for the coiled mother ?? 🙂

We had painted some Amethyst OWs but they all turned out to be “goof ups” due to bad paint. We haven’t been casting them, but if we have enough horns, we may start casting them.

All our eggs are rotten, and no prospects of finding a new pewter company, so I don’t know what we are going to do about that. Maybe I’ll change the object she is holding…

I am considering a new color for the dragons, but not sure yet. I really want to restock our store before adding new things, but I might do a batch of Serpentine dragons in limited production.

What about a stone egg? 😕 There are all kinds of neat semiprecious stones out there that polish up really nice that can be cut into eggs, any Lapidary shop could probably do it. And then the egg would look like “real” dragon eggs 😀

I really like the flying cups. The inks you did of the Orca make me want to sculpt. I could see it on a carousel, and bet it would be pretty popular too 🙂

                UPDATED FEBRUARY 22

So, Life hasn’t been going very well in the last little and has recently taken a nose dive. So, long story short, I’m literally broke and facing the possibility of being homeless at the end of the month (5days! :shout: ). And so while this pains me, I’m having to sell off some of my Windstones and other things. I’m offering these to the Forum first and if they don’t sell here, they will be bound for Ebay.

All Items come from a non smoking home, but a home with a dog.
All prices are in US Funds
Buyer to pay shipping and applicable duties and taxes.
I am happy to ship International!
I am happy to combine shipping where I can.
All fragile Items will go double boxed. If I wouldn’t trust my 3year old niece with it, I sure don’t trust the Post!

I recommend that all Windstones and Collectables go with tracking. However this means that shipping from Canada can be expensive. I’ve gotten quotes for the USA and they are in brackets beside the item. I do my best to get my buyers the best possible price when shipping, and if I should quote you more than it actually ends up being I will issue a refund.

If you are really willing to take the risk not having tracking, PM me and we can talk.
*A Note – Due to circumstances, nearly everything here is negotiable (within reason) so if you really love something, PM me and we can talk.

*** So why is shipping from Canada so expensive??? It has to do with the fact that when Canada Post set their rates an American dollar was worth about $1.30 Canadian so a package that cost $30 to ship in the States cost us $40-$50 (depending on province and taxes etc.) And now we are at parity and some days the Canadian is worth more than the American and since companies don’t change their rates to reflect the market, shipping is expensive. I am really and truly hoping that the quotes posted are all high and that I can get the pieces to you at a lower cost. I have also looked into three courier companies (UPS, DHL, FEDEX) and their quoted rates are pretty much the same or higher. I always try to get my customers the best possible rates and am willing to give you numerous quotes (if you will provide a zip code). Because of this, I have gone and dropped my asking prices on most pieces. Again everything is negotible, so PM me if you see that special piece and we can talk

A huge thanks to everyone who has helped out and sent me warm wishes. The remains of the first lot is off to ebay. here is the link and there is more random stuff there
                http://shop.ebay.com/ladyleyn/m.html

Will try to get better pics (since the sun came out) and get them posted ASAP!

                Round 2 😥

                Windstone

                Male KiRin – $75.00 ($42.00)
                – He’s in great shape with a couple of fleabites (I’ve tried to get pics) to his paint. Also, he came to me wrapped in paper towel and there are some imperfections on the pearl scales that look like they are paint scrapes and one place where it looks like the paint had started to peel away in his non display side. I don’t know what has caused this, but he came to me this way. He still displays beautifully and has his Hang Tag, no original box.

                Mother KiRin – $100.00 ($42.00)
                – In Amazing Shape. I can find nothing wrong with her other than what looks like some shelf wear to the paint on the bottom of her back end. She does not have a hang tag, don’t know if she ever had one, no original box

                Male Dragon – Peacock – $40.00 ($42.00)
                – In great shape. Has a couple of fleabites on his non display side wing and his pad is discolored, possibly came from a smoking home, but there is not odor (that I can detect) anymore. No Hang Tag, no original box

Trio of Dragons Candle Lamp – $50.00 ($55.00)
                – In great shape, though dusty (will clean it throughly before shipping). There is a small chip on the back of one of the Dragons heads. No Hang Tag, no original box

                Wizards Retreat Candle Lamp – $100.00 ($50.00)
                – In Mint Condition with hang tag, no original box

                Large Siamese Flap Cat – $100.00 ($50.00)
                – In Mint Condition with Hang Tag, no original box

                Large Black Flap CAt – $100.00 ($50.00)
                – In Mint Condition with Hang Tag, no original box

                Rising Spectral Dragon – Ruby – $200.00 ($55.00)
                – Mint in Original Box

                Rising Spectral Dragon – Emerald – $200.00 ($55.00)
                – Mint in Original Box

                Non-Windstone

                Dress Vase – $75.00 (30.00)
                – Approximately 12″ tall, looks like stained glass with dragonflies. With Original Box

                Pegasus Trinket Box – $50.00 ($40.00)
                – by Hidden Treasures. Approximately 6″ tall. Is made of metal and studded with rhinestones. Was supposed to come with a necklace but since I got it at a closing out sale they didn’t have (or couldn’t find the necklace). With Original Box

                Artisia Riconada Pegasus – $15.00 ($25.00)
                – Mint in Box. Approx 4″ tall

                Artisia Riconada Dragon – $15.00 ($25.00)
                – Mint in Box. Approx 4″ tall.

It was just the Living Room but it went from a yellowy peachy beige (That hadn’t been repainted in 20 odd years and still had crayon murals from my sister and places where children had repeatedly rammed toys into the wall) to a nice Brownish/Greyish/Beige called ‘Bamboo Beach’ We also got the new sage green curtains (which had been sitting in their packages for years) up. Mum has been in Costa Rica for the last week so it’s been a real blitz to get stuff done since she is the biggest obstacle to redecorating 😳

The Iceberg was a doosey. The set broke during the opening number of act 2 (broken caster). Not a total loss, we now just have it in one position for act 1 and one for act 2 since it takes 8 people to move each piece rather than the 4 per peice it did originally.
Then on my supposed days off I lost my internet and computer (noooooo! 😮 ) because my place was getting painted and it took 5 blinkin days to do it!

                            So…
I’ve just started into Tech week for Titanic:The Musical (Broadway type musical theatre)and this musical is either going to sail on smoothly or sink faster than the ship. It’s a huge show (56 Actors, 22 Pit Orchestra, 16 crew, a moving set and only 3days to figure out how to turn this into a show) and I can see the fleet of icebergs (problems, technical difficulties, etc) lined up like an invading army on the horizon…. :shout:

Well today as the orchestra was loading in, we hit the first iceberg. We get a text message…
“Tympani went down elevator shaft” 😮 😮 😮

*cough* *sputter* *stare at each other in disbelief*…. 😮 and then burst out laughing, in that overtired (I’ve gotten maybe 5hrs of sleep in the last 2 days), OMG, I don’t believe this, I have to laugh or I am going to cry kind of way.

We thought a drum went down the the elevator shaft. Turns out it was only one of the casters. Apparently, the drummer was a little too enthusiastic wheeling it out of the elevator and got the wheel caught in the door gap and wrenched it off and the caster fell down the elevator shaft. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings…. 😈 😈

Yeah, finding a school is hard. There are all those college lists and people who have their own opinions about certain schools etc. The best thing I can suggest is to do ALOT of research. Look at what schools are available, check out things like …

Price – More than just can you afford it. What is included in your tuition? Where does your money go? What are their cancellation/withdrawal policies? You can call the Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce etc. because colleges are businesses. Look into if they are affiliated with a group of colleges or other post secondaries and check out the groups reputation. Are they accredited? Does the school have a student union/government? Talk to them. Also talk to schools about each other, how a school is viewed overall among its ‘peers’ can be a good indication of scam schools.

Courses Offered – What courses are mandatory? Most good art colleges I looked at (way back when) required you to take a ‘foundation year’ where you go through ALL the basics before you are allowed to look at specializing. Are courses transferable to other post secondaries? Check not only with the post secondary of your choice but call other places and ask if they would accept/recognize courses from the school you are looking at. Also what are the profs duties? How many courses/classes do they teach? What is their background? etc.

See if the college you are looking at has an open house or an art show you could go to. Maybe look at taking a weekend or evening course offered through the college you are looking at as a kind of ‘Test Drive’. Go to the colleges advisory department and talk to them. Talk to people who have graduated from the school, more than one and from different programs. Everyone has their own experiences when it comes to school and even through person A may have hated it, person B may have had a great time.

As for ‘druggies’ and other aspects of college life, well, unfortunately colleges and universities are their own little cities and thus come with all the social problems you would find in a city. And certain programs (like the Arts) have a reputation (true or not) for being more susceptible to certain cultures. The thing is, you can choose whether to be involved with a particular group or not. The ‘Not Caring’ I think is a matter of perspective. Each teacher is different and going to teach different ways, also if a prof. has 5 classes of 100people each, they simply may not have the luxury of getting to know you as an individual. You have to be proactive, it is your education, you have to work for it. I found that I got out of my college experience what I put in to it.

                                Good Luck with your hunt!
