Mines packed and ready to go! I’ll take it to the post office after class tomorrow.
I hope my swappee likes it! 😀Don;t know if this is a WTF or a holy *bleep*
So its official, the Windstorm we had yesterday had sustained winds speeds equal to that of a category 1 hurricane! In landlocked Western Canada! :jawdrop:
That’s insane! I’ve lived here most of my life and NEVER seen wind like that! Neither have my parents who’ve been here longer. Sure we get small windstorms and a couple of trees go over and know out power and stuff but never like this. They closed off the downtown core yesterday (which made trying to get to work last night very interesting) because the wind was shattering the glass in the office buildings and evacuated everyone above the 30 floor in all buildings (including the expensive condos) There are trees down everywhere and some of the big spruce trees have been ripped up by their roots!
And to cap everything off once the wind died last night we got two inches of snowOh so THAT’S why one of our trailers of meat trim didn’t show up until 2:30 (We get it from that huge plant in Brooks).
That would be why 😉
I have to vent some….my divorce was signed by the judge on Sept. 9. The whole settlement was around he and I staying in OR and cooperating to raise our son. Not the greatest deal in the world but I had found a job and was going to school so thought we could make it work. Well after 3 weeks he comes up with “I am moving to Seattle”. WTF!!! Now he’s saying I should move up there. Note: I’m not against this. There are definite benefits to the move BUT if he was planning on moving anyway why the hell did we spend thousands of dollars to come up with a settlement that he is breaking anyway? SO initially he said he would help me with the move and pay for 6months of rent until I could get myself settled back into a groove. Now he’s backpedaling. He still wants me to accommodate the parenting schedule he wants but is now saying that he won’t be able to help me with the move and rent. It looks like if we cannot come to some sort of agreement then we are going to have to go to trial for custody. I’m really getting worn out with this BS. I thought it was over with the signing of the less than ideal settlement and now I’m still dealing with the same crap. 🙁
That sucks 🙁
Although you should have a good case since he’s breaking the settlement.
I agree. He’s the one breaking the settlement. I would demand that if you agree to move, he WILL pay moving expenses and 6 months rent. Get it in a legal document. He’s yanking you around.
Talk to your lawyer. He’s screwing around with a legal settlement and it sounds like he’s trying to get around things by going to you.

And to cap everything off once the wind died last night we got two inches of snowWe had the first written part of our final exam on Thursday. We were given 3hrs to complete the exam and are all working away when at about an hour in the instructor announces that there is only 5min left! Freaking everyone out and the instructor goes “Just kidding” and cackles madly while the rest of us try to relax again to continue with the exam. Friday for the second part he comes in and asks why the class average is only 60%, before we even start the exam and pulls the same stunt he did the previous day. This time we were kind of expecting it so it wasn’t as traumatic.
He’s been this kind of jackass through the entire course and we’ve only ever received marks for or midterm, none of the projects. I am beyond glad that this course is over and praying that I passed because I don’t think I could take dealing with him again.
Anyone else ever had an instructor like this?Ughhh…
We’re having a windstorm today winds of 65km/hr(40mph) gusting to 95km/hr(60mph), though its been gusting pretty steadily for the last several hours…
Part of the neighbors tree broke off (actually been waiting for this to happen) and took out the power lines so had to call the power company and while the guy is here, almost done, another larger part of the same tree breaks off and he has to redo everything.
We’ve spoken to the neighbor about the tree a couple of times now but he won’t do anything and the power company can’t take down the tree because it’s on private property, though the guy from the power comapny said that since the tree is now a documented danger, they can charge him for any future calls >)The wind also blew the greenhouse off its foundation…. :O
November 24, 2011 at 7:27 pm in reply to: I should have ______ but I bought a Windstone instead! #863654Last fall I let my electric bill lapse for a month so I could buy an eBay piece that I just couldn’t live without. Who needs electricity when I have a Poad, right?
When I was a kid, my aunt had a poster in her hallway that said, “In today’s economy, one can either afford to buy clothing or fine art” and it had a photo of a naked lady sitting in a chair surrounded by beautiful paintings. That’s how I feel sometimes, LOL!
Oh that is so me!
I’ve put off buying clothes so I had money for toys or windstones 😛November 24, 2011 at 7:24 pm in reply to: HOLIDAY ORNAMENT SWAP 2011- SHIP BY DECEMBER 8TH!! #863653I picked up my supplies yesterday and plan to get started after my exam tomorrow! 😀
poor Melody… :X
We love you! There are chocolate Martinis and I think Baileys might have a chocolate flavor 😉
😥 😥 😥
She will be greatly missed.
Her Dragonriders of Pern series was the reason I fell in love with Dragons, and what lead to the start of my Windstone collection.Congrats to all the winners!
This is going to be an awesome calender! Thanks guys for the stuff regardign the relationship issues… so far things are “almost” back to normal I guess… I dunno. We’re doing that whole “ignoring the problem and hoping it just ges away on it’s own thing” which I know isn’t the right thing to do, but I just am sick of fighting. I’ve lost the energy to even argue any more abut it and I’m planning on saving up a nest egg after I get some people paid off (commissions and what not) just incase things go sour and I have to boot him out of the house… if things work out then that’s great, but if not I don’t want to end up struggling.
Speaking of… my whine for today. I went to grab a fe groceries with the money I had left over after getting my new tires (like 40 bucks) and had enough to get cat food, dogfood, and cat litter… and a pizza for me and shaun. (damn animals eat more then we do, LOL) and my neighrbor who is on welfare, has a new lexus and also a brand new I phone since she was gabbing on it about going to the casino while checking out bought $400 worth of groceries and paid for it all with food stamps…..*annoyed* Now don’t get me wrong, I’m for government assistance….FOR PEOPLE WHO DON’T ABUSE IT! In the mean time people who are working their butts off have to strugle while people who don’t work and leech off the system live like fat cats. I’m so tired of this crap!
Thanksgiving is going to be a real hoot this year. My step brother and hsi wife just both got on permanenet disability apparently. (they were talking about it on facebook)Okay, so I kow these people… no relation, but they are family… there is NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM! They are overweight… and that’s about it. PERFECTLY capable of working! *rant*
People like that tick me off. I was in the situation of needs help (PTSD and a week from eviction) and had doctors notes saying I couldn’t work because of the PTSD and had to fight and argue with the workers to get anything. The thing that really ticked me off was the day I was waiting for an appointment at 8:30am and had to listen to a woman waiting with me who was very drunk, whom you see almost literally see the alcohol fumes radiating off of, with a ‘water’ bottle that had a suspicious smell, go on about how she got over a grand a month and low income housing so she still had almost 500 after everything and didn’t have to work and could drink all day and the government paid for it.
Sounds like the system is just as broken there as it is here.
