I like the idea a lot, I do think having a tuxedo is rather limited though. Maybe themes like “space, fire, summer, fall” to give a broader assortment of variations. Maybe instead of “tuxedo” we could do “domestic cat” That leaves room for say a siamese theme, or a tabby, calico, etc. Just a thought, but it does sound fun!

I like the idea of a theme though I like any of these themes better than just tuxedo. When I try and picture tuxedo all I see a man in a black and white suit. If I were voting on a theme I’d go with something colorful.

(BTW your poll isn’t working for me)

Thank you Nela-g and Hannah. Feels really good when someone else sees something positive in one of your pieces. I paint cuz I love it truly but fantastic to know I do a decent job at it 🙂

You don’t do decent work you do awesome work. I love this guy. I love his details and his colors.

I was eyeing this guy too, the poor poor thing =( Not only is the paint horrible but it doesn’t even appear to have a protective coat. That gives me hope it could be repainted but ugh almost 30 bucks for shipping? I do agree the eyes make me think it was a majestic white male… at one time.

Only 30 bucks shipping? You guys are pampered 😛 Would cost me 45 from Windstone though if the seller’s marking the shipping up I’d probably get charged 50-60 bucks shipping if the seller was willing to ship to Canada.

It’s tempting to rescue him and fix him up. At least the seller not trying spin some story to get more money. Too bad it would cost me more in shipping than he’s selling for. If it was local I would totally pick him up.

Which peacock colored version are they? The darker or lighter version. They pictures looks to me like the dark but I can’t tell for sure. I love the dark peacock color.

Nail polish remover(clear, acetone based) will remove paint. It can do damage though so use with caution. If you get it on the good paint it will damage it and too much on the gypsum will soften it. If you do try it I would go very slowly and carefully. Fine grit sandpaper might also work depending on the area you’re using on. Less risk of damage overall but it can remove detail in areas that aren’t already smooth. Unfortunately I don’t know of any methods for paint removal that are completely safe.

My mom was watching the voice last night and I called the entire final 3 at the beginning of the show. I think Danielle has a very good shot at winning. She’s got an amazing natural talent and stage presence.

Can someone please explain why the horn problem hasn’t been corrected….. Are there no companies that will do the plateing? What happened to the company that was doing it?

I’ve never has a clear understanding of what happen with the horns, if anyone can help.

                            thank you.

The way I understand it is:
They where having problems with quality from the old company so stopped using them. The new company uses different molds so the old ones can’t be used. However the can’t find the masters to make new molds. They can’t simply use cast horns to make molds because pewter shrinks alot so the molds have to be oversize.

                            Soloutions:
                            -Find masters (crosses fingers)
-Melody sculpt new ones (last resort)
-Find a feasible way to make masters from cast horns? (3d printing is the only way I can think of to enlarge them but I don’t know feasiblity)

Could we get a list of the horn statuses if it’s not to much to ask? Or atleast the ones you know off the top of you head.
                              -Out
                              -Low
                              -Unplated
                              -Lots

Thanks for everything you all do.

*falls over* When the quest first came out, I mistakenly read the entry deadline as 11 *PM*, not AM, argh. Got everything ready to submit, come back to see I missed the deadline. Story of my life, heh! Best of luck to all who entered, just the scavenger hunt part of it was fun.

I read it as PM as well. It probably took me reading the post 4-5 times(or more) to realize that it said AM. So then I’m scrabbling cause I didn’t have all my pictures and I was planning on having all of the 29th to finish up instead of a couple hours. Sorry you didn’t catch it in time.

Poads. She announced on the Reptangle comic yesterday(Monday) that for the May raffle the winner would get to choose from her collection of Poads minus the one chosen by the secret reader raffle winner. Once the winner has chosen their poad she’ll post a new pic of the poad clutter on the blog. For the old pic go here.
