Your trip looks so cool! And it’s reassuring to hear that you did the whole trip as a vegan, I was thinking that if I ever went to Japan I would be subsisting off of ramen and plain rice the entire time for lack of any food which doesn’t include fish. I’m not vegan, I’m vegetarian, but it seems the safest way to travel Japan would be to just go vegan there too. Jealous of your hangout times with the foxes and owls! So cute!

@Anne Those teas sound crazy delicious! I’ve had the Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice but it was TOO much spice for me haha.
I’ve drank dandelion tea before – I don’t really like it, because it’s bitter, but it is very good for the liver. I drink mine with a load of honey but I’m sure it would go down well if treated like black tea too.

Black Magic kirin is amazing. The colors just work so well together. If there was ever a chance to get more production kirins other than the Albino, I would so go for these guys. I am such a sucker for black and cool colors.

@Jasmine – Thanks! My avatar is cropped from a larger character reference that I did of my own character, Tyanar, a chasmaporthetes. (Prehistoric running hyena – they were much closer related to modern aardwolf than conventional hyena, mind you.) You can find the full version here.

I have to say that’s the first time that I have ever heard of a kirin being used in a movie, so that’s pretty neat. I’m not sure what the story is with the Secret Keepers, but they’re awesome.

I used to love Celestial Seasoning’s Wildberry Zinger as a kid, but we sadly discovered that I am allergic to hibiscus, so we stay away from fruity teas now for the most part. I now drink a lot of peppermint tea and I love a tea made by Stash called Ginger Peach (it’s a fruity tea sans the horrid hibiscus!) I basically gulp up any herbal tea that I can find which doesn’t contain the devil flower haha, but it’s uncommon that I discover any. I used to also love green tea, but caffeine plus a frequently insomniac and kinda neurotic artist don’t mix well haha.

This didn’t happen today, but it did make my whole week (which has been nine days long thanks to my manager going off to the UK – can’t wait to sleep in tomorrow, it felt SO good turning off all of my alarms just now so that I can be deservedly incredilazy tomorrow,) but last Tuesday one of our reps (I work in an outdoor store,) came by and gave me a free down jacket! It’s a factory second, so kind of a prototype of the ones which they’re now selling (which only just came out this year,) but I absolutely love it and it’s saved me a lot of money, since I was going to have to buy one anyway for the thru-hiking and backpacking which I want to do eventually. It literally turned a terrible marathon of a week into something not wonderful, but perfectly tolerable and I am so grateful for it! Plus it’s beautiful! 😀
