I thought I was mostly content with my Windstone collection, but I’ve got to have a piece in this color. So far I like the sitting Spectral the best, but I’m going to wait and see how the other dragons turn out before I buy anything.
The Poison Dart Riser is my favorite Riser since the Barn Swallow Riser went on ebay. And the Barn Swallow was what made me interested in collecting Windstones in the first place. 🙂
My collection so far. I’m surprised at how much it’s grown already! I’m also trying to get each sculpt I like in a different color.
Dragons:
Peacock Coiled
Peacock Young
Black Gold Lap
Ruby Mother
White Male
Silver Emperor
Red Fire Scratching
Gold Old Warrior
Lavender Pearl Young OrientalNot Dragons:
Peacock Small Wizard
Przewalski’s Mother PegasusSeptember 7, 2012 at 8:04 pm in reply to: I would like to squeek for more baby pegasus BUT,,,,,,,,, #886102I’m squeaking for more Przewalski too. So far I’ve just been collecting dragons and haven’t considered collecting the hoofers. But when I saw the Przewalski in the store I fell in love! I know the contrast makes it tricky to paint, but I think the contrast between the tan, the black, and the cream is what makes the color so attractive to me.
I bought the mother off ebay recently and want to collect the whole family. So I’ll be keeping an eye out for more of the Przewalski’s in the store.
Wow at the green male… They didn’t even try to photoshop the two pics to look alike. Oh well, makes it easier for potential buyers to spot and stay away.
Thanks Angelika! Go for the lights, you’ll be glad you did. If you’re curious, I got mine from oznium.com. It’s a sixteen foot ribbon LED in the neutral white color. And yes, show off your collection! My Windstone collection is kinda small too because I started less than a year ago, and I think very carefully about each piece I buy. There’s still a lot of nice pieces out there that I’d like to get eventually though.
Glad you like, drag0nfeathers. There’s a closer view of the top half of my cabinet here: http://myfigurecollection.net/picture/448263&ref=user%3Adranxis
That note basically says “Please do not clean this cabinet.” My mother likes to use a cleaning service, and so we have cleaners come into our house every so often. A person in the last cleaning service we used tried to clean my figure shelf before I had a cabinet, and broke one figure. 🙁 Even though I had a bilingual Don’t-clean sign for that shelf too… We don’t use that service anymore, the new service we use is much better. But it still gives me peace of mind to leave a sign up, heh heh.
Thanks Sikek! And yeah, I’m a little Touhou crazy if you can’t tell… I ordered a figure of my favorite character, Marisa, back in 2008, thinking that she’d be the only figure I’d get. But then they announced a Yuyuko figure, and I thought, “Well, one more can’t hurt…” You can see where that got me, lol.
Ah, they were showing up before, but you’re right. I’ll remove them and host the pics somewhere else in a little bit.
edit: re-uploaded them somewhere else, hopefully these pictures behave themselves 🙂
Hello, I haven’t posted much since I’ve joined here, but I do still lurk! I recently installed extra LED lights in my display cabinet and wanted to show off my small Windstones collection. The LED’s are ribbons that line the sides and ceiling of the case, so you can’t see them directly, just in the mirror.
The upper half of my cabinet is devoted to my Touhou Project figures, and the lower half is for my dragon collection. Here’s what the whole cabinet looks like with all the lights on:
And here’s the section for dragons:
February 3, 2012 at 5:38 am in reply to: Anyone Buying? If you are actively seeking a piece, post here…. #872330I’m looking to buy a Red Fire Scratcher. There are new ones available at Sunshine Spirit, but for 290. I’m considering it but wanted to see if there were any users selling theirs first. I’d like one in new to mint condition, for lower than 290 depending on the dragon’s condition.
College Humor has a great skit about internet trolls: http://www.collegehumor.com/video/5817726/internet-bridge-troll
Yeah forums can be really hit or miss. I’ve been to nice, pleasant ones like the Windstone forums and others that are just trolls-trolling-trolls. I think a lot of forums start out friendly, but become filled with grumpy people who spend too much time on the internet. Eventually the friendlier people are driven away or move to other hobbies and all that’s left is a community of people complaining or arguing with each other. Any new members that walk in are going to be greeted with cynicism or hostility because ‘that’s how it is around here.’ I’ve seen it happen slowly to a couple imageboards I used to browse, even though they were fairly chill places when I first came there.
January 4, 2012 at 5:35 am in reply to: just me being nosy, but curious if anyone knows this person's issue… #868105To me she sounds miffed that her pieces do not fetch the high prices that the test paint Windstones get. I can’t imagine why…
I’ve got a whine. Back in July I pre-ordered a figurine of Alice, a character from a PC game series I like. http://myfigurecollection.net/picture/236260&ref=item%3A77455 It came out in late November and mine was shipped out on Dec. 2. I chose SAL Registered for my shipping, because shipping EMS from Japan is pretty expensive and I usually prefer to use EMS for combined shipments. For me SAL usually takes 14 to 15 calendar days, but because of the holiday shipping congestion, it’s been 24 days and no package.
The thing that makes it annoying is that although SAL registered has tracking, half the time no one bothers to scan it because they mistake it for Unregistered, which does not have tracking. So I know the package left Japan on Dec. 4, but I have no idea where it is right now… I’m sure it’ll get here eventually, but the suspense is killing me! After waiting 4-5 months for the figure to come out it’s hard to wait much longer. whine whine whine
Aside from that I’ve got nothing to complain about, I had a very nice Christmas
I love the Silver Shadow color scheme! I’m normally not the biggest unicorn and pegasus person, but if I saw that pegasus for sale in the store I’d totally buy it.
