Being in Arizona is both good and bad. On the good side,I don’t have to change my clock. On the bad side, that means that in the summer, the sun gets up at 5AM!!!. (can you tell that I hate mornings?) Also that all the non-local channels shift so that I have to adjust my DVR schedule.
Love the purple. Not as thrilled with the stripes. Do I try for it or not? Decisions, decisions…
Got my GBB today. It is an autumn leaf with brown eyes. Will get pictures up this weekend. She (he?) will be up for trade. I am looking for something with purple.
Usually I read what the seller has to say about packing. I also check their feedback and see what else they have sold. If they have sold other fragiles, they probably know what they are doing. If they haven’t dealt with windstones before, I usually try to keep it polite but provide the links to the packing FAQ here on the windstone site. If the item is large enough, I even offer to send my own fitted box. (did that with the brown emp we won and also emailed photos of how the box inserts go together as it didn’t appear that they had sold any windstones before.) I have never had a seller chew me out before, maybe ignore me, but not chew me out. I would definitely downgrade the communication rating in the feedback.
Inquiring minds need to know. I will be out of town after Monday and doubt that I will have internet access while gone. If I could at least know if it is a dragon, a unicorn, or something else. I don’t want to enter completely blind and have it turn out that I end up winning and it isn’t a dragon or unicorn. And if I don’t enter, with my luck it will be the perfect dragon or unicorn…
I love the Momma Meercat! I also think the pink dalmation is interesting (but it is too dark to be rhodochrosite).
My mistake. It is rhodenite. I always get them mixed up when they are not in front of me. Rhodenite is pink and black, rhodochrosite is pink with a lot more white in it (and a lot more expensive)
He reminds me of a stone called Rhodocrosite (I think I spelled that right). It is pink with black inclusions. Looks like he was carved out of that.
I wouldn’t mind some “plain” fantasy ones. I’m not really into stripes or lots of spots and the natural horse patterns just make it look like a horse with a horn. (and yes I have the production black and white sets.) I really like the two GB Youngs I got, Silven and Seaweed. The first batches were before I found the forum (and probably wouldn’t have interested me) and I passed on the safari batch. The candycorn I got is ok. It has a lot of purple (my favorite color), but I could have done without the stripes on the legs (at least they are colored and not the black & white zebra stripes) or the blue spots.
I see that the classified problem has been fixed. I hope no one lost an “over” expired ad (past the 10-day/30-day limit) that they had been planning to send around again and hadn’t because the notification emails hadn’t been going out.
It seems the software is not removing expired ads from the ad count. It is, however, only showing the current ads in the ad list. It is also not deleting expired ads after the 10 (or 30) day limit, so the ad count goes up because nothing is deleted unless you do it manually. Apparently it is also not sending out the usual (or what had been usual) half-life, pre-expiration and pre-deletion emails. (kinda makes sense if they system isn’t going to delete them.) You can see this if you search for ads by a specific person. You shouldn’t be able to see the expired ads in anyone else’s ad list except your own, but I can see them for several of the sellers.
The last time it had problems like this, if the ad count said there were 57 for sale ads total, but say only 38 of them were actually active, there would still be 3 pages of ads, but all of the entries after the first 38 were blank.
Without your post I just would have assumed it wasn’t up yet as I rarely see the homepage. So I checked it out. There isn’t even a next button from page 50. So I tried changing the 50 to a 51 in the address bar and that got me ‘page not found’. So I went to the home page and clicked on the picture and it worked. So I looked at the address and the problem is that all the other pages are
windstoneeditions.com/veligent-page-xx
but page 51 is
windstoneeditions.com/th-veligent-page-51
For some reason, ‘th-‘ was added in front of veligent, so you can’t just change the page number from an existing page.
Edit: dropdown and ‘next’ from page 50 all fixed. We must have found the page while all the links were still being updated.

Congrats! Keep an eye on ebay. There is one now that ends soon. If that one is too much, just wait. They come up every so often.
More likely lapis. Sodalite has white in it. (Sorry, my husband does lapidary. I can identify more semi-precious stones than I care to think about.)
