If you want to wait, I can post a couple of pics tonight once I’ve got it up. I figure putting a small piece of cloth, or possibly tape, on the screw head after it is installed would be enough to protect the finish.
I have one I’m planning to mount when I get home today. He’s been lying in front of my TV while I figure out where to put him. I’ll let you know how it goes, but personally I have found that just using a large, properly anchored screw tends to give you a flat hold on the wall. You just have to adjust the amount that the screw extends so that it holds the sconce securely. I use this method for anything I mount on the walls, picture frames, paintings, decorative knives, etc. I’ve never done a sconce before, but I’m hoping it will work. Hope that helps 🙂 (and that I’m right :p)
Yeah!! PYO kitties (and Grifitties). I can’t wait. Hope I manage to grab one before they sellout.
I have the same one with the crystal ball and the dragon except its black and gold. I heard that’s rare and retired? I have only found two on eBay. One missing only the ball was going for about $300. The other I ran into was in mint condition and was going for about $650!!! Mines in pretty great condition with no chips just a little dusty. How much is it worth??
If you are talking about the large wizard in black, I just purchased one on eBay around christmas 2013 for $124. It was in near mint condition, I just had to touch up a couple of paint rubs on the base. It is one of the original colors that the large wizard sculpt came in (in my opinion it is one of the best, the black and deep red look amazing). Most old large wizards don’t sell for very much. The two on eBay will never sell at the price they are asking unless someone is desperate to get their hands on one. If you are looking to sell yours I would suggest listing it at around $100 to $125. Hope that helps. 🙂
I’ve added a picture of the piece I think you are talking about.
I’d be willing to ship international for forum members. I just don’t want to get mixed up with some of the weirdos on ebay. Feel free to bid and if you win, just don’t check out right away. Message me either here or on ebay and I’ll give you an adjusted shipping rate.
Thank you so much. I was going to ask about shipping internationally too. It’s nice to know you are willing if anything I like comes up. 🙂
That is one beautiful tadpoad. Congrats.
Okay so I was looking at the pics again and I noticed that some of the dragons are the wings down and some of them are the wings up version. Is this a Grab Bag of both or 2 different batches?
I would guess it’s a grab bag batch for each type. The wing up ones are the “horder” dragons and the wing down ones are the mini keepers. Their sizes are very different, so it would probably be hard to sell them as one batch. They’d be hard to price together I would guess.
Hugs and Kisses. Thank you so much for the cute card, I love it.
I live in Edmonton and mine just arrived this morning. What is a kickstarter?
I second this question. I thought kickstarter was for funding ideas and business ventures, how would it be used for GB dragons?
Existing businesses can use kickstarter to fund new efforts – like the costs to start up a new line of sculpts or other new product lines.
That’s kind of a cool idea. I would kick in some money to help fund new sculpts, or fund a way to fix the horn shortage.

Here’s a large wizard in Black that I managed to snag on eBay over Christmas. I’ve never been interested in the wizard sculpts before, and I bought him on a whim because I liked the colors. I can’t believe how much I love him, the detail is amazing, and the colors are so me :). He’s been given a place of honor on my TV stand. I lucked out – he only had a couple of small paint rubs that I had to touch up.
The red color is a much deeper cranberry than it appears in the pictures.
And there she is! <3
They actually look like goldfish rather than koi 🙂They may be goldfish. I’ve never been very clear on fish types, but whatever they are they sure are cute. 🙂
The tracking said it arrived in Calgary on the 24th and should be here by tomorrow. Usually things arrive here in a week though so it must have got held up in the U.S. with the holidays as it took over two weeks to even get across the border. In other news my mom gave in and decided she wanted one too just before they sold out so hers will hopefully be here next week if it’s not as slow shipping after Christmas. I will post pictures of each one as soon as they come in.
It’s strange that yours is taking so long. My brother and I live in Edmonton and ours are both here. I ordered mine the day they were listed (Nov 29), and it arrived on Dec 13 (with a customs charge). My brother liked her so much he ordered one on Dec 13 and it arrived on Dec 23 (also with a customs charge). We were out of town for christmas so he will be picking it up at the post office tomorrow. I’ll post pictures of it when I have the time, but I’m going to be very busy at the restaurant until after New Years.
Excited to see small pieces coming! LOL! Budget wise – the holidays killed me >_< I'll need January and February to recover! LOL! Little pieces are good, means I can still sneak in a few new babies <3
It's probably that way for a lot of us I am guessing?
Agreed. 🙂 Not only do I need to start saving money again, but I’m officially out of display space for large pieces, which is unfortunate for the large wizard I just purchased (I have no idea where I’ll put him.) But smaller pieces I can stick in anywhere.
