If it was a get a box for anything you don’t have a box for thing, I would spend more money on those than anything sculpted… 😕
I’ve bought alot of things off ebay, that didn’t have them, or were slightly damaged or had worn spots, so alot of them didn’t have boxes. 🙁
But you know, there is nothing like a good deal on a peice you don’t have. Besides I was sorta screwed when I didn’t have my cat fixed years ago, and he peed on all my styrofoam boxes…I was young and stupid for that one… 😆
Are we talking plastic bags? 😳Yeah I suppose…But while I was moving most of my mother’s whole house lastnight (and that took over 6 hrs), I got to thinking, maybe if I am PATIENT FOR ONCE in my life I will find a set that I want a little closer. The shipping is $315 for that particular set of Foo’s I saw on ebay…If I knew that they would get here in one peice, I would be willing to pay that much. But I can always ask the little oriental guy in the mall if there is a chance he could get me a set for that much that I can see before I buy…IN PERSON. HA HA

BTW Priority and insured doesn’t mean it’s coming in one peice through USPS, or if you live in a dinky town like I do and 15 miles is the closest place to send UPS (which it doesn’t matter I go there anyway to send UPS) I understand. But I will tell you how messed up Illinois USPS is…First I live in a mall town, but if you send something priority and they say guaranteed 2 to 3 days delivery and yet it takes 5 days to get there? EVERYTIME? I can go to another town 35 miles away (where I grew UP) and have been known to do so, and send out a MO by Priority and it gets there in 3 days or less, what in the hell is that about? Why does it take my postmaster 2 extra days and cost me $4.05 to send it, if I could have sent it standard mail and it would have been there in the same amount of time? 🙄
I understand if you’ve never had a problem with them, and you like USPS, I am not saying anything bad about any of you for what you like…I am just stating that I have a problem with them. 👿

Yeah, but for some reason, I just can’t seem to cover the things Melody does…Besides my hands shake so badly now, I can hardly hold them still good enough to use my pastels and colored pencils. I am so scared of messing up on my PYO griffins, I am having a hard time sitting down to do them. 🙁Hence the Foo’s having to be 2 ft tall!!! 😯 And that is alot of clay. 😛

Yeah, they probably wouldn’t sell well enough to be a production…hmmmm, maybe I will just go get some clay and try to make my own set…been a few years since I got down and dirty with some sculpting mediums. Hell, I took 6 yrs of art in my senior year at highschool! If I can make a 3 ft 57 Chevy out of plaster of paris and cardboard then I should certainly be able to make a couple 2 ft Foos!! 😆

You are right, they do. I like them in a set though, which they usually come in, unless you’re at a flea market. But, since that is the only place i have seen a large one alone, it stayed there and for $25 I got a very nice vintage cherrywood desk instead…It now is covered in Windstones…Orientals as a matter of fact! 😆
But I think the Sun Dragon’s build and head shape reflect it alot…Vantid how about you, since you are the one who told Melody that you liked them…*nudge nudge wink wink* 😆Ah ok, sorry my mistake. 😳
I just like the chubby ones that are the most popularly used ones. On ebay they had alot of different ones. But the big ones on there (12 inches or more)all haled from China. 🙁 (shipping of $200 or more too!)
We have one shop here that sells that stuff…and they want $25 for a 5 inch tall set of Foo Dogs. 😯
I’ll keep looking tho, because next year I plan to be one of the people at the estate sales and auctions…:twisted: Maybe I will find some doubles and share them with everyone else. 8)I don’t expect her to make everything my sad little mind comes up with. Ok. So there I was checking on Windstones at ebay when suddenly I thought of my Orientals (Dragons and Ki-Rins) and decided to go look at the Foo Lions/Dogs on ebay. I just love those statues that sit outside the Chinese resturants and guard the doors. I really like Oriental things I guess, since I bought alot of little things to put with my dragons and Ki-Rins. Infact my Sun Dragon was who I took with me to work lastnight to show everyone what it is I am always working on there in my spare time (which isn’t much).
So, on to the question…
Melody is there any chance that you won’t retire the Sun Dragon since he looks so much like the Foo’s I have come to love? And if you do is there a possibility of maybe you might make a pair of Foo Lions/dogs perhps in a distant future? Or should maybe I just give in and buy a pair from China and pay to have them shipped here? I was thinking in my own small world how nice it would be for us Oriental lovers (unless I am alone) to have them. I personally think a set of bookends would be a neat idea. 😳
