    Yeah! AWESOME!
This PROVES that the Idiot at that other fair or place you were selling your art at earlier this year didn’t know anything. At the next show or fair you have a booth at, maybe have these photos posted proving your art are award winners and worth it!
Just think, if you had sold any of these then, you wouldn’t have been able to enter them at this Fair and won those wonderful prizes and recognition. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason!

    Congrats! πŸ™‚

    I know right?

And thank you so much everyone!

This month has been crazy packed! Our county fair was this week, the North Idaho Fair is next week, I was invited for a booth and to join the planning committee for Sandemonium, our first local comicon thats on the 29th, and then I think the Spokane Interstate Fair is the following week, and a few are whispering in the shop that we should push for that too. Fairs are fun! I now get why all the moms with kids that enter all the regional fairs said fair month is nuts!

Just finished my silent auction piece for the con! And I found out some more amazing news thats kind of in the air right now, but could really get Weasels on Easels going, so i’ll wait to announce that…

in reply to: Repair on Old Brown Mother Dragon #933234

That’s an easy repair. I can fix her for $20 plus shipping fees if you want. Honestly… it would cost more to ship her back and forth then to pay for the repair.

I can explain how to do it too if you want to try and tackle it yourself. That’s a great beginner repair.

Aww, Drag0n, ya beat me too it, been in the shop all week, And the dragon does look like a small easy repair. No the unicorn on the other hand…not so much.

Close … this is the photo:

Thats not too bad, it seems decently easy with a bit of apoxy sculpt. Are you looking to do it yourself or to find a repair artist to do it?

in reply to: What would you do… #933109

jacki, I don’t think you’re over reacting at all – it’s a matter of straight up being honest and honorable; one of the first things I taught me boyohs while they were growing up and it’s something we still stress big time in our home. If I were the buyer for the piece I would most def want to know who the artist was just like I would want to know if one of Miss Mel’s pieces had been repainted or if a fake was being represented as her work… Please keep us updated. I;d like to know how this gets resolved.

    I second this.

That does sound good. If you don’t have time to do a rice pilaf, you could just cook some plain rice like brown rice or even quinoa. Those make good side dishes and are good for you.

Thought about it. Quinoa is a no though, I am allergic to most grains. accept rice. its kinda funny that way.

Oh, and I’ll be right over to sample some cheesecake. πŸ˜‰

Well if I must, I promised him dinner and collecting various things the past week and prepping things, 80% of the meal is completely paleo, and it is all gluten free cause of my health issues.

First up is a fresh caught salmon tail, brined slightly and marinated in homemade teriyaki, sliced into to steaks to be grilled fresh tomorrow.

Next is pinapple and squash kabobs accented with fresh mushrooms and walla walla onions lightly seasoned in a smoky hand mixed spice blend I keep in my cabinets, also headed to the grill tomorrow.

All of that paired off with fresh steamed broccoli with the rest of the mushrooms.

It will be served with refreshing cucumber lemon water since I don’t drink and cant really afford any wine at this point.

Later for desert, I have the option of two cheesecakes (His all time fave desert is cheescakes, and I am known for mine, great pairing right?).

The first is a spin on my classic turtle recipe, and is instead a Chocolate Mint Caramel cheesecake with gluten free crust and homemade caramel topped lightly with raw cocoa nibs and those Andes mints.

The second is something new; a paleo cheescake! Yes, they exist! It is a rich dark chocolate accented with lemon and mint, topped with a plentiful floof of freshly mixed whipped cream sweetened lightly with local honey and topped with cocoa nibs. This cheesecake is dairy free(except for the whipped cream which was raw cream), gluten free, night shade free, soy free, refined sugar free, etc etc. Its, well…it’s paleo. And very rich. I think we ate almost 1/3 of the batter. Bad…but soooooo yummy…

He knows one will be paleo, but I’m not telling him which. I’m gonna see if he can guess. And now you know a regular bit of cooking in my household, albiet with a bit more flare than usual. For example, I cleaned all of the art..uh..”clutter”.. off my dining room table so you can actually set a plate on it, lol.

Hows that sound for a date night? Who’s hungry now? I <3 cooking!

thought about a rice pilaf, but realized I just dont have the energy to pull that off. πŸ™‚

Ya I’m trying to get done what I can manage with the seizures and stuff. I worked a bit more on the cat, which i updated the photo above. It is black but I am gonna phase the fur out to blue as iff it was dissapearing into the snow. I plan to do a silent auction both online and in person until the end of the month for it, with all proceeds going to our local shelter.

I got some of my paperwork done (and on time this year) and a bunch of my work is going into our local county fair next week. Wish me luck for a ribbon or two. Also in my home town some poeple are doing out first comic con, called Sand-amonium at the end of the month (Aug 29 for those that live near) at our local library. I was asked to run a booth so I will be and there is where people can bid on the cat in person.

sigh..* if anyone wants to put a bid in early on it, just pm me I guess. Bidding Ends August 30th and it will all go to our local, no-kill shelter. Thanks for the kind words everyone. The past three days have been hectic. πŸ˜› My bf and I will be spendind our evening together tomorrow celebrating our birthdays together like a week late. I have been spreading out the cooking prep over the past couple days and got the cheesecakes all done tonight and stuff ready to throw on my small colman grill tomorrow. hopefully it will be nice a relaxing with a good movie after dinner. Anyone interested in hearing the menu I’ve comprised?

lol. Food and chocolate makes everything better.

in reply to: A forum ACEO Swap? #932338

I haven’t heard anything from anyone yet…. Is there still interest? Let me know your thoughts…

    1. Perhaps do within a time frame where a ship date happens in late/end of September before the Fall PYO Swap is in full swing? I already have started a Make-A-Fuzzy Swap, and I wouldn’t want to have too many swaps and activities going on at once.

    2. If it’s perhaps too much to have both the Make-A-Fuzzy Swap, an ACEO Swap and the upcoming PYO Swaps happening so close together, might be better to do this ACEO Swap after the Holiday rush? Like for a January-February-March time frame?

I was also thinking of perhaps having a minimum of three ACEO’s per person to do, since they are small (2-1/2 x 3-1/2 size), having them sent to me to sort and send out. I thought it would be fair to shuffle/sort them into even numbers per person who signs up. Thoughts or alternate suggestions?

Don’t be shy on input – I’ve not done an ACEO Swap before… πŸ™‚

    I’m game πŸ™‚

I’m also not doing the fuzzy swap and likely not the PYO swap, so time isn’t an issue for me… plus I do ACEO’s pretty quickly πŸ™‚

I would really love to do multiples, and would love to get several from different artists back, so I think there should be some way to sign up for 1-5 or something like that, but it does make sense to me for organization to get everyone to send out equal numbers (then you know each envelope gets X amount)

I think everyone should put their forum name (or real name may work too) on the back of the ACEO’s, just so when you’re mixing them up, you can keep tabs that no one is getting their own ACEO back, lol…

I’ll brain-storm on it more and let you know if I come up with anymore ideas… I think this sounds super fun, but I know there is no way I could host such a thing, as life has it’s moments of absolute chaos around here right now, lol…

Hey KaytanaPhoenix, or anyone else out there …..
Any more feedback or suggestions? If not, I’ll take these current ideas and come up with a plan and post an ACEO Sign Up thread in the next few days or so.
    Okay? πŸ™‚

    sounds good!
