I saw Rio as well and I relly enjoyed it. You are right about that fact that some of the birds aren’t native to South America. The cockatoo is native to Australia (I have heaps of them around here and they are LOUD). I was wondering why they used an Aussie bird in a movie set in South America! Oh well! It was still really good!
I have the same issue as you do, and my wedding was 3 1/2 years ago. I love my dress as it has sentimental value to me, but having said that, I still don’t know what to do with it! My mum kept her dress up in the closet for years, and it was falling apart when we got it out 30+ years after they got married. Mine has been sitting in it’s box under the coffee table since the wedding and hasn’t moved.
Congratulations on your wedding too! You look beautiful! I hope you enjoyed your big day!
ooo, what a handsome dragon Hannah! I agree, the emeralds are amazing in real life. I have an emerald mother and I just love looking at her rich colour. I don’t think I can stop at only one!
Lol! I’m glad I could help make your Windstone addiction worse Lokie! 😀 Your photo is still much better then mine were! The new wolf colour suits the male griffin so well.
Oh Azurielle, I’m so sorry for your losses! I send you my best wishes and *hugs*. I guess all you can do at this stage is be there for one another, and remember to vent to close friends and your family Azurielle. A problem shared is a problem halved! It might help with the grieving process. *hugs* I feel for you. I really do.
I didn’t know they were going to change the wolf colour either when I bought him, I was just thinking “ooo, wolf male is out again! I have to snag one before they go!” (I only needed him to finish the family and my female was arcing up!).:D I went back a week later out of curiosity to see if any were left and then I read about the changed colour in the description. I don’t remember reading it when I bought him and I think I would have noticed something like that. Anyway, I was wondering which version was flying his way to me, so it was a pleasant surprise to open his box! I don’t mind that he is a little different to the female and chicks; variety is the spice of life I think!
Thankies Wolfen! My RF emp is so gorgeous and his colours are so bright! I love the RF colour, and it’s a real shame about the red problems. Here he is in some morning sunshine (never again is he going in the sun though. That was just for the photo!).
The gold emp that I bought from you is on that cabinet on the other side of the emerald sun dragon. The symetry is very pleasing! Red and gold!
I must say that the new wolf colouring is more wolf like (the typical grey wolf that comes to mind, but I know there are wolves with a more brown colouring too). The stripes on both sides of his wings are bolder too, and his claws aren’t bronze anymore, they are black now. He is a very handsome griffin!
Wolfen, what a gorgeous dragon! Lucky you! 🙂
I haven’t posted the new members of my windstone family in a while, and I love them all so much!
I got my first fledgie, an amethyst (my first amethyst too!). He is so adorable!
I also got my first curly in serpentine. He looks good in that colour. I like his beady eye looking out for bauble thieves!
I have a brown female griffin to complete my brown family.
Here she is with her mate and chicks. So cute!
I also aquired a male griffin in the new wolf colouring to complete my wolf family. (My 16yo cat got into the photo too!)
He is quite different to the old wolf colours. He is much more grey. Here he is with his mate and chicks. The difference is quite obvious. The photo is too bright and blurry. I’m no photographer! 😀
Ooo, your collection is beautiful scenceable! I love it that you still love the poor OW even with his broken feet! He is still a beauty and has some lovely colours on him! $10 was a total bargin too! 🙂
The Serpentine griffin is amazing! He looks like the ultimate forest griffin! So pretty!
What about a wing of dragons?
🙂 Seems the last time you couldn’t find something Pam had a list of boxes to look in. Next problem…find Pam :p
LOL!!! I know what it’s like, I’m always loosing stuff!
Oh, the poor thing! I wish her all the best for her treatment and I hope she beats this horrible cancer. She sounds like a brave little girl. I am sure all the love you are sending her helps very much. You and your husband definately have the support of my husband and I. Hang in there! *Hugs*
Welcome Gilliatt! The Windstone staff are fantastic aren’t they! Everything is personal which is a rare thing these days. I hope you enjoy your new dragons; everyone here absolutely loves their Windstones!
Addiction……what addiction……I don’t know what you are talking about….. :8)
Hi Vicki,
First, welcome to the forum (I also extend a welcome to jherzog01). It is a real shame about your male dragon. If he is not too badly broken, perhaps he can be fixed. I have seen some very badly damaged Windstones brought back from the brink of death! It is always sad to break something so beautiful and sentimental.
As for a replacement, have you checked out ebay? There are peacock dragons there all the time, and you should be able pick one up for under $100 (there are a few priced very high on there as well, but those don’t tend to sell due to said price). There is the forum as well as you have already noticed! You shouldn’t have too much trouble locating one!
To jherzog01, congratulations on starting out your collection. You are now probably a windstone addict, and if you aren’t yet you will soon be! One (or 2 or 3….) is never enough! Especially when the very talented Melody tempts us with her creations! 😀
