Ooo, your collection is beautiful scenceable! I love it that you still love the poor OW even with his broken feet! He is still a beauty and has some lovely colours on him! $10 was a total bargin too! 🙂

I bought most of them on classifieds sites, the brown male was also $10, green mother $15, and the peacock spectral and peacock scratcher are both mint with tags and were only $50 each. The green oriental was also $10, uhm, they emerald coiled mother was $5, ummm I think that’s it. We drove like 3 hours to pick some of them up though, but still.
Olive always gets admired by people. I had someone over who was oggling the windstones and then they saw olive and were like OMG this one is the best! And were staring at her for a solid 5 minutes. And I think she likes her little perch up there where she can watch everything, hehe 🙂

**cackles manically** found a ruby OW to sit all close and cuddly with my RF OW. I’ve gone from no OWs to two in two days! Pictures inc when I get my homework turned in. weeeeee so happy, happy happy happy dance!
That’s awesome! I’m surprised you were able to find a Red Fire OW-I know several folks are looking for them and can’t seem to find them. So that’s good news that there ARE still some out there!
I’ve only ever found 1 Windstone through Craigslist. I guess people in Houston just aren’t into dragons 😛 or weren’t even in the 90’s and 80’s.
Well, I totally put the cart before the horse…apparently even I cannot have super amazing omg goodluck all the time…so I only have half of a ruby OW now…
The Story
My mother was shopping in downtown Woodland, and sees a store selling Windstones (HERE is where I should have been suspicious! How could she see from outside the store unless…). She calls me and describes a ruby OW in good condition (had a few paint flecks off his claws and his tag is missing). The store originally had him listed for $170, but sold him for $150 because he wasn’t mint. Well, that sounded like a damn fine deal to me. Fast forward, my mom gets home, I open the box and I see a perfect BACKEND of a Ruby OW, but when I take him out, the other half is, I believe the color was dubbed “baked Arizona storefront”?Sigh, it certainly looks interesting, but I like the ruby color rather more

Whoa! Yikes. D: You should show Melody those photos. They know that Ruby could fade but… it might be helpful in some way for her to see them. I don’t know.

They were very polite and offered me a refund. I also sent them the links to the Windstone homepage and the FAQ forum topic so they can read about proper care for themselves. Sigh, I still just can’t believe nobody noticed before it got all the way back home to me 🙁
