Hi back at you! Thank you for the welcome! I always love this forum as everyone is so kind and supportive of Windstone addictions! I am loving catching up on all the goings on and seeing all the pretties!
Hi Kim
Thanks! Last on? Uh I think it was the start of 2015. Things got really insane (renos, pregnancy and other things) around then so I didn’t have the time (or the energy) for other things and before I knew it it’s almost half way through 2017! Phew!!! I’ve been on the forum for years before that though.
Yeah my son is pretty cute (I’ve been told by sooo many people so it’s just not parental bias!) He’s sooo cheeky though!
How long have you been here?
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! I haven’t been on in a little while as I’ve been preparing for my first baby due on Christmas Day! We are going to have a little boy. It’s so exciting and scary at the same time…. I’ll have to get him his very own baby dragon I think!
I’m so very sorry for your loss! He is no longer in any pain, and is running around with the other animals at the Rainbow Bridge! It is so very hard to loose our fur babies, but he knows he was loved and the joy they give to us far outweighs the pain we feel at their loss. I still keenly feel the loss of my beautiful Streaks who we lost in March last year. But now, I can think of the happy times too. You will always love him and you will see him again! Lots of hugs!
Thank you Adaneth! I have had a good birthday as we adopted a new kitty! So excited!
Hi everyone,
I know I haven’t been on in a while. I have had a bad year with 2 miscarriages and I’ve also been preparing for a major flute exam/diploma. I have just had a second D&C for this miscarriage 6 weeks after the first one was done and my exam was in the middle of that, so I don’t know how I didn’t cave under exam pressure as my emotions are out. of. control. right now. (I can’t even go into the shops because if I see the baby section I totally turn into a sobbing mess). I managed to pass my exam by some miracle of epic proportions and I was so relieved to tell my teacher that I’d passed. This means that I won’t have to resit (I am stubborn enough to resit it if I didn’t pass). Anyway, after all that and getting a healthy tax return, I thought I deserved a Secret Keeper, so I took the leap and bought one! I never thought I’d be able to get one and my hubby actually help convince me to get her!
OMG she is magnificent! And HUGE! 😀 I am trying to think up a name that will suit her magnificence. Any ideas? She is simply stunning and I can’t take my eyes off her!
Anyway, here are some pics of her, mostly taken outside in the sun.
This is her ‘don’t mess with me’ face!
A size comparison with my RF emperor. She wins through sheer bulk, and the threatening fist of hers! My hubby put the hatcher in there just for a more ridiculous size comparison!
I love the back of her wings! The silver lining on the feathers is beautiful!
This is my collection how it is currently. I have since added a few more pretties since I last posted my collection – a Siamese flapcat, a jade oriental, a lavender baby oriental, an empea hatcher, a peacock mouse wizard and an autumn cat wizard. I love them all!
Congratulations! That is exciting news and a well deserved recognition of your talent.
It looks like it has some sort of skin disease…… Not something that should be done to Melody’s epic creations!
I love Golden Emerald. He looks almost….refreshing….
Snowfire was stunning as well! I love the golden red tones!
OMG I love the Snowfire griffin! She is stunning!
January 27, 2014 at 12:05 am in reply to: So…. I have a choir concert tomorrow and it will be Livestreamed! 🙂 #908089That concert sounded wonderful! It sounds similar to what my orchestra and the local choir do. We did the Karl Jenkins Stabat Mater last year which was so different to anything we’d done before but it is a seriously amazing work! Don’t you love those less stable parts of the music when you know they’re coming up? They make me nervous – are we going to pull it off or is it going to fall in a heap…. Normally we pull it off, but not always. Sometimes you can save it like what happened in your concert, sometimes you have to start again. Fun times!
I’m glad you’re still doing and enjoying music Siberakh. It makes life so much richer. Art does that – Windstones included!
Skigod, what Siberakh said about conductors is correct. We all know our parts (well we SHOULD anyway!) but if you have an 60 piece orchestra you have 60 different interpretations and ideas of the one work and it would sound like a dog’s breakfast! We follow the conductor’s interpretation and he/she shapes the music. It is less about beating time and more about shaping with a pro orchestra/choir and the opposite for an amateur or student ensemble. Most of the conductors work is done at the beginning of the rehearsal process when he/she has to convey what they want from the work and us musicians. A conductor’s job is hard (in the professional sense) as they have 60 people under them of which every single one is an expert in the field in their own right. Due to the big egos in music, it’s a wonder the system works at all! 🙂
Thanks Adaneth! I played my flute on the beach this morning in a concert with a glass of bubbly on my music stand, then went to lunch so it was a good day! I also have some money to spend on Windstones so the only dilemma I have is what to choose!
YAY TDM!!!! I knew it would work out right for you in the end. You have stayed really strong throughout the whole ordeal and I’m proud of you! You can put all of the stress and worry behind you and know that you are now a stronger person and can tackle anything.
OMG!!! Is that a whole family of Violet Flames! Want!!!!!
Oh Stephanie, I’m so, so sorry for your loss. I know what you are going through as I went through it not five months ago with my dear little cat Streaker (who now sleeps in her beautiful box beside my bed. She is always with me, and I draw comfort from that). Supai sounds like he was a very loved and spoiled puppy! It is so very hard to clean up the house of all their things too. We had to do it as soon as we got home as we wouldn’t be able to if we left it. Supai is still with you, and he’ll be running around with all his new friends at the Rainbow Bridge and creating all sorts of mischief!
Here is a poem that comforted me when I lost my Streaks. I hope it helps you in your time of need.
To Those whom I Loved and Those who Loved Me.
When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy that we had so many years.I gave you my love.
You can only guess how much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
but now it is time I travelled on alone. So grieve a while for me if you must,
then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It is only for a while we must part,
so bless the memories within your heart.I will not be far away, for life goes on,
so if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you cannot see or touch me, I will be near,
and if you listen with your heart you will hear all my love around you,
soft and clear. Then when you come this way alone,
I will greet you with a smile and a “Welcome Home!”Alice Ramish
