I’m so happy the website didn’t crash! But my COMPUTER DID! LOL! First time I ever saw one of the new style Blue Screens with the 🙁 on it. It was terrifying! But it seems to be o.k. now.

I’m trying to add a picture of the Male Dragon in Brimstone… let’s see if it works!

I’d like to add that I’ve had people ask about the upcoming Grab Bag. We do not have a waiting list for it yet and there is no way I can keep track of people who want to be on that waiting list and are concerned that they may not be able to get onto it (traveling, internet problems, etc). When the Grab Bag is ready to be ready we will be sending an email announcement with instructions for joining the waiting list for the Grab Bag. It will work differently from our usual website based waiting list because the last time we had so much trouble with the site crashing while people tried to join the list. Melody is still painting those little cuties and its not happening just yet! Be sure you are subscribed to the newsletter (that purple subscribe button on our home page – if you aren’t sure – press it and answer the questions and if you are already on it, it will tell you – if you aren’t, it will add you).

In answer to this question: ” The new Brimstone color – have you guys decided how you’re releasing it yet? By waitlist via email, by waitlist via forum, by NO waitlist and just a drop in the shop? There’s just been a lot of variation lately and I’m not sure where to look anymore lol”

We aren’t sure how we will announce each sculpture as it becomes available in Brimstone. There has been a lot of variation in how we introduce new things into our webstore because we are trying to avoid having it crash when everyone receives the information at once. Some of the new things we’ve introduced recently we’ve had only a few of (for example, only a few of the Wizard Cat in Copper Patina) and we don’t want to excite all of our email announcement “mailing list” with an announcement when that is all there is for possibly years to come. I am not sure how each addition of Brimstone will be handled. We may be just popping them into the store as they become available due to the holiday shopping season sneaking up fast! We know that folks like to shop early and this year the USPS mail that many people are choosing may take longer than usual to reach its destination (I advise early shopping).

Plans are made for all of the dragon family to be made in Brimstone. The ones that are the farthest off are the Emperor and the Scratching as these sculptures are on hold for technical reasons. We are trying to make fair sized introductory batches of Brimstone however we may sell out quickly and you will need to join the waitlist for sold out pieces. I suggest keeping an eye on the store section of our website Forum and our Facebook pages for announcements – we will also most likely do more email newsletters on them too, but not one for each sculpture. I’m sorry its not super simple!

Today we added someone new to the Ancient Steel group! You can now view from the “Dragon Color Families” link on the home page!

                Yes! I think so!

When you choose your USPS shipping service be sure to compare Ground Advantage with Priority Mail – in some cases (especially small boxes) – Priority Mail is less than a dollar more and a lot faster! I would choose Priority in those cases.

I’ve emailed the rest of the waiting lists for the Ancient Steel Mothers and Fathers! You have until August 21st to place your password protected order. Give us a couple days to process your order while we are very busy!

We will have other dragon styles in this color, however I’m not sure what style might come up next. Its another “rescue” color like the Copper Patina which means that we’ll only paint batches when we have just the right sort of castings for it. The family of Ancient Steel dragons will grow slowly.

“Weird but I signed up for the list and never got an email about these critters. I assume more are being made? 🥰”

I’m sorry, sending the emails to the waitlist and filling the orders is taking some time. We sent email notices to less than one half of those on the waiting list because that was all of the Barongs that were already packed up ready to travel. As soon as more Barongs are packed up we will be sending out more emails. That may be tomorrow, August 3rd. We apologize for the wait! Thank you for your patience.

“I just sold some stuff on eBay, and it looked like it wasn’t too much slower than Priority- comparable to the old 1st Class/Ground options. Seems like they’ve used the relabeling as an excuse to put the prices in the atmosphere though.”

I’m not sure, but I think that the Priority Mail services went up a bunch – though Medium Flat Rate boxes seem to be the same as before.

“Has anyone ever had any issues getting an eye of the proper side inside the socket of a PYO? I have a kirin that I painted and I thought that I was being smart leaving the eye out until after I was finished, but now that I’m done I’m finding it really hard to get one of them inside. (One of them went in and is seated tight and well, but this second one…) I’m not sure if the problem is the paint but I definitely didn’t think I painted the layer(s) that thick.”

The glass eyes vary from eye to eye – and the eye sockets may vary too. Eyes may be slightly thicker or thinner than each other, and sockets slightly bigger or smaller. Some eyes have big pupils and some have small ones too. We try to mail off a matched set but its often difficult to tell. Its wise to try them on in the eye sockets before painting so that you can scrape out the socket a bit if the eye feels too snug, or switch the eyes to fit on opposite sides. Paint is also thicker than you might think! A bit of scraping out of the painted eye socket should allow the eye to go in.

If your eyes don’t want to fit in – please contact me and tell me what the problem is, what PYO they are for, the eye color, and provide your name and mailing address – and then I can see about sending you a new pair that will fit your animal better.

To reach me please use email: service@windstoneeditions.com or susie@windstoneeditions.com. The contact us page goes to me as well!

The PYO Barong Waitlist is now closed and I will begin emailing those who are on it with instructions for how to order. You will have until my deadline to place your order. If you do not order by the deadline, I’ll move you to the end of the list and email you again when your name comes up later on. Only those who are on the waitlist will be contacted and are not to share the ordering password. We shall have lots of these critters as a normal part of our Paint Your Own line – There is no need to worry about missing out completely! I can’t wait to see these creatures all dressed up!
