Heck, at $50 I’d buy him! But there’s no way on earth that he’ll go for so low, here or on ebay.

Is there not going to be a way to somehow recreate the master then? I mean… they’ve got to have lots of winged wolves hanging about. The Master itself is cast in the first place, isn’t it?
Eee! I love the little donkey-dragons!

And if you haven’t gotten something broken by UPS you’re lucky.
And if you haven’t gotten something broken by FedEx, you’re lukcy.
They throw the packages onto the trucks when they’re loading, marked fragile or not, and they ALL do it.
My day is sunny, (well, not actually, it’s raining,) and splendid!
For last night I got the most wonderful thing in my inbox, namely an invitation to come over and meet Melody and company while they’re up here in Oregon! *bounces* I’m sooooooooooooooooooooooo stoked! It’s not quite a cool as seeing the factory would be, but it’s still pretty cool.

Actually they’ve already censored a HUGE number of old Warner Bros shorts. Especially the WWII propaganda ones. The Loony Toons that most of us younger sorts saw growing up in the 80s were very pruned down from the original number available.

Sadly I think there’s little chance that they’ll see any of ther things agian but we’ll keep hope!
Ah. So it’s possible these may turn up somewhere else entirely? How annoying. But in any case, in a way it’s better that they were pros, because I’d think they would be less likely to toss them in the trash and have them be gone forever.
Also, I did want to ask, do we know what town the theft happened in? If we do, somebody can call all the pawn shops there and have them look for the stolen pieces. (I’d be willing to do so.) I think that’s really the best bet for getting them back.
Depends on how smart the crooks are. If they’re really dumb, they’ll not even know that the statues are valuable, and they’ll get thrown away. That’s honestly the worst thing that could happen, as we’ll probably never get them back. (Certainly not in one piece.)
If they’re only a little smart they’ll realize they’re worth something, and list them on ebay, where we WILL find them. (I don’t know about you guys, but I’m going to start regularly hunting for “lion unicorn” and any related search I can think of. That’s the one that’ll be easiest to spot.)
But if they’re smart enough to realize they’ll be caught doing that, then they’re going to sell them to a pawn shop, where they can get cash and be much harder to track down. This is still bad, but even if we don’t catch the theives, at least this way we can hopefully get the statues back.
Arlla wrote:I imagine ebay listings get screened, and if you inform them that there’s a good posibility of stolen goods showing up there, there might be a way they can keep watch for them…Especially since you have pictures and everything.
No, ebay listings are not screened. Not at ALL. In fact, very often the only way ebay will know if something illegal or against their policies is being sold is if somebody reports it.
There are some ebay empolyees who go and look for fraudulent auctions and such, but they are very, very, very few compared to the IMMENSE amount of stuff sold on ebay.
How woeful.
I don’t think I’ve ever ordered from an online site. I’ve bought off ebay, and I’ve traded, and I’ve bought at the local place in the mall. (They have EVERYTHING in stock, and so shipping isn’t even an issue.)

What do you want for this one? This is the one with the gold egg isn’t it?
That is the one with the gold egg, yes. I haven’t fixed a price yet, I want to see if I can find out what they’ve sold for in the past.
Mine isn’t mint, but it’s “refurbished” which means I’ve resculpted the chipped bits and repainted it all.
Sorry, the only rainbow I have is my fledgeling, and I’d never sell him!
No, I’m going to be selling an emerald coiled mother, and a brown mother, and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe a brown male.
(Funny thing I noticed – the brown mother dragon I have has DARK blue eyes, like the rainbows do! They’re definitely darker than the eyes on the male.)
O.o
I’m sorry. I don’t find it at all appropriate to call people who are trying to make money sickos and bastards. The point of my previous post was to say that I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what they’re doing. They’re in business to make money, so they can pay the bills.
I’m going to be selling a couple of retired peices in the next few weeks. I hope you won’t think it sick of me if I want more than the original list price for them.
Heh.
While I certainly prefer buying things cheaper, I don’t find it ethically reprehensible to raise prices on pieces they now know may well be worth more.
I’ve been thinking of a brass/broze/copper dragon myself. And I love the marble on his tail.
