I have a dumb question! Mine is due to be here tomorrow, do we still put up pictures the same way as the old forum or is there a tutorial somewhere that I need to read?
I haven’t been on the forum in a while and when I came back everyone’s names and profile pictures were different, I’m so lost! XDI’m just cutting & pasting the HTML code provided when I upload to photo bucket.
Awesome, that’s what I’m used to. Thank you, Natasha!

I haven’t been on the forum in a while and when I came back everyone’s names and profile pictures were different, I’m so lost! XDI want that blue shadow kitty one so bad! The only way to win the lottery is to buy a ticket, so I broke down and ordered a uni! Nobody tell my husband, I JUST gave him a lecture at Target for spending $20 on a Game of Thrones action figure, LOL.
My favorites still haven’t shown up, it’s making it so difficult to avoid the temptation!!
The emails may have contributed to the problem but I don’t think they caused it.
I got the first spate of emails at 7:34pm Eastern Standard Time and the website was down by then. Or that could be when my name came up on the email notification list – I pressed the “Notify” button on Tuesday, maybe for the first time.
Do we know when the first emails showed up?I received 30 emails at 5:55pm (EST), when I clicked the link it took me to the kirin page but when I hit “add to cart” I couldn’t go any further. I know that I only hit the “Notify” button once, because I’ve been avoiding the website for at least six months (since before the last batch of GB kirins were released).
Just getting caught up – this may have been posted elsewhere:
Current version of the hippocampus (From the Windstone Facebook page on 21 October)

I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on one of these! I’m so much more in love with the sculpt than I expected to be 🙂
Me too, Kaytana!! I wasn’t overly excited about it until I saw the pictures, now I have a shelf picked out for one already!
I would also like to set the record straight about all the people “losing” by only a few dollars. You usually have no idea how much the winner had as their max bid; the bids have to fall a certain way for you to know that.
If my max bid is $500 and yours is $200, my winning bid will show as $205 because $5 was the amount of eBay’s automatic bid increase in that price range. The $205 you are seeing is a far cry from my actual bid of $500. You did not lose by $5; you lost by several hundred dollars.
If my max bid was $203 and yours was $200, eBay cannot fully raise my bid by their automatic $5; so my winning bid would be $203. This time you can see my actual max bid. In order to win, your max would have to be at least $203.01; and you did lose by a few dollars. However if you think you should have time to bid again if you are sniped, why shouldn’t the sniper also be able to bid again?
My hubby doesn’t understand this either. He will see me watching an auction until the end, if the current bid is at $10.00, he’ll say that I should hurry up and bid $20.00. Then he’s completely flabbergasted when I bid $500 on an auction that is at $10. If there’s another sniper out there who wants it as much as I do, I need to make sure I put in what I think it’s worth TO ME because somebody else is going to bid what it’s worth TO THEM.
There was a Windstone on eBay years ago that I made myself sick with worry over. My husband was laid off and I had a tiny bit of money saved in the emergency Windstone fund, so at the last second I bid every cent I had, to the penny. I ended up winning by between 35-50 CENTS!
Years later, there was a unicorn I HAD to have and I ended up winning him for $300 LESS than I had bid.You never know what the winning high bid ACTUALLY is. And this is the reason I don’t give myself time to bid again because I will send myself to the poorhouse trying to find out if I was going to lose by a few dollars!
My collection seems to be overpopulated by baby unicorns and pebble lady cats. Mainly because there have been more batches of GB baby unicorns than anything else.
My favorite sculpts are the ones I have the least of. I only have three colts which are my absolute faves, two male kirins, two Grimalkins, and one NON-stone finish Bad Cat candle lamp. If those sculpts were more popular and came in more than just one color, the population of my collection would be much different!I’m a last second bidder for one reason, and one reason only: it keeps my spending in check. If I bid the maximum of what I think the item is worth to me at the last second and then get outbid, I don’t have time to bid again! If I don’t do this I will continue to bid thinking, “Just a couple bucks more! Just a couple more! maybe I can still win it!!”…until I’m at a number I regret! Sometimes I win by a few bucks, sometimes I lose the auction by hundreds, etc. I HAVE to bid at the last second, because even if I don’t REALLY love the item I will keep bidding because I just HAVE TO WIN! It’s an adrenaline rush! I snipe for my own good XD
I’m so worried that my cart is going to expire :O
Those are super cute! 🙂 Amazing job, SPark!
Let’s see…there’s Durian the chestnut, Tesla the “paint puke”, Delight the black and purple, and the buckskin is Armada. 🙂
I need to vent for a minute and this topic seems to already be breached in this thread.
**I AM NOT SINGLING ANYONE OUT. IF YOU FEEL SINGLED OUT **DON’T** I’M VENTING BECAUSE OF THE QUANTITY THIS HAS HAPPENED, NOT ANY CERTAIN PERSON**
Lately I’ve been feeling like ANY picture posted anywhere on the forum is taken as a classified ad.
This past week I posted a handful of my pebbles in the “Post your Pebbles” thread and some of my favorites from my collection in the “Show your collection” thread as I was dusting some of them. The occasional “if you ever want to trade/sell please think of me” DOES NOT BOTHER ME. I got many messages, MOST polite and understanding, but I stopped acknowledging them after a while out of frustration. Nobody around me cares about my collection, this is the only place I feel like the awesome collection I’ve been building since 1998 could truly be shared and appreciated together. Within four minutes of me posting photos labeled “my favorites” in the collection thread the PMs started. Four minutes. All future messages will go unread. I’m so sorry to be rude to all of the ones that have been polite, but I’m irritated. I feel pounced on, and there were even two remarks from two different people about the same piece that made me feel like a grab bag I received direct from the factory shouldn’t rightfully be mine. Now I feel like the only time I should post a picture of a newly acquired grab bag is if I absolutely hate it.
