Hi Melody 😀 was just wondering if any of the dragons have been retired in the Rainbow color? I know they have not been made for a while. Its just that I found some in the Postponed Production section instead of the Permanently Retired section on the Windstone page. I hope there is a chance they will still be made again? I noticed some of the rainbow colors look very similar to some of the other production colors. lol I know they would sell like crazy being such a pretty color 😀
And also, will there be any more Ocelot Female Griffins? I am hoping to get one to go with my Male Griffin 🙂

The Rainbow color is retired on some dragons and not on others. I don’t remember which ones! Before we can paint more, I’ll need to find out.
The new dragon sculpts we are making will eventually be painted in Rainbow.

I think the Old Warriors and Laps are the only two unretired rainbow pieces – possibly rising spectrals. There hasn’t been a sitting spectral in rainbow yet (I don’t think – I might be reversing spectrals).

Well, okay, SKs might not be retired either, but those haven’t restocked in ANY color in so long we might be losing hope. 😉

All the production rainbow pieces (i.e. those sold in retail stores) have been retired.

The rainbow Old Warriors haven’t been retired? There’s still hope?? **DIES**

        HEY!! I have another suggestion!!
Remember the raffle to help raise funds for Melody’s son’s robotics(?) club? What about a pay-to-enter lottery type raffle to raise quick funds (instead of or in addition to an auction)? I’d happily buy a $10 lottery ticket for a chance to win a fancy unicorn prize! Just an idea. 🙂

I would gladly but a ticket or two for something like this!

I’m not 100% sure pay-to-enter raffles are legal. They may be considered gambling.

Not if it’s donations and a free raffle as a thanks? 😉 😉

Right now one of the challenges to an imperfect piece section is the time to photograph every imperfect piece to put in the store. Windstone would want to document any flaws in a piece so the buyer is not surprised or unhappy. This is a lot of extra labor and kind of defeats the purpose of having a “seconds” area in the first place.

If you sell pristine emerald peacock dragons – you just have to take a photo of one. If you sell damaged/poorly painted emerald peacock dragons, you have to take a photo of each one. What someone sees as a “minor” flaw, others see as a deal breaker.

There’s been some discussion on what to do about that, but no firm conclusions yet. Windstone is open to the idea, there’s just not a concensus yet on how to approach it so that it’s A.) Not overly burdensome to the staff and B.) Doesn’t mis-lead the buyer.

BUT, let’s not hijack Pam’s thread on that topic! Maybe I’ll start another one to talk about ideas on how to sell seconds.

**Sorry to add on to the wrong topic**
Actually, that is kinda what started this whole GB craze. A few years ago, Melody had a cart of baby unicorn castings that *I think* she had painted white, but then they failed inpection. So she painted each one a different color and sold them as a “Goof-up” Grab Bag Edition. If I remember correctly, the folks at the factory didn’t think they would be very popular at all…and look what happened! The description told you that they weren’t perfect, with various things wrong with them, I didn’t care, I snatched one right up and still have him today! (He’s basically a white baby unicorn with a couple of tan patches on him, MUCH different than today’s GBs!)
My point is, I think the solution to selling the imperfect ones is to mark them as “goof-up with various defects” and don’t worry about documenting EVERY SINGLE flaw. The majority of us that buy goof-ups are not picky about their flaws anyway. It’s been done in the past with a great response! 🙂

I REALLY like the idea, and the idea of a matching Young of the winner’s chioce.
My favorite in a batch is usually not a very popular one anyway. 80% of the time my favorite one goes to someone who doesn’t talk on the forum so I never even get to see a darn picture of it. Out of a batch of 140, even after the top 5 are chosen, there will still be 134 that I would love to have. 🙂

I think the idea should be given a chance this time around to see how it goes and to raise the quick funds.

Here is a clearer photo of mine for Hannah’s directory! I just couldn’t get her color to look right! Her eyes look very blue in this pic, but they’re actually metallic periwinkle. And the top of her head is purple that my camera washed away.
Anyway, I may have a trade pending on her, just waiting for more poads to arrive at their destinations! 🙂

I swear, we should come up with a GB “passport” template we could print out for all the trades we end up doing. A little GB mugshot, description, and then have a few pages where we could note each new place the GB traveled to, short or long term–sent along to the next owner with the GB. Some of these guys have more frequent flyer miles accrued than a lot of us humans!

Heck, I have a few secondhand non GB pieces I’d love to know more about–doesn’t have to be who had them, just where they’ve been.

*tries to remember these are inanimate objects, while still calculating mileage on that last three way trade*

Did you ever see those old suitcases that people would put a sticker on for every place they’ve been? Maybe before we send them out to someone else we could draw a tiny “sticker” on the box to show where they’ve been? I don’t have any objections to a little writing on the box for them to remember their visits. 🙂

I got a Happy New Year card today! That really made my day today. <3 I don't know anyone else who would take the time to write out a card for each of their crazy fans. I put it in my curio cabinet with all of the things that are special to me. Thank you, Melody!

Glad your hubby is okay too! Two car wrecks and he’s still in one piece!

He’s actually been in many more than that. I tell him that he drives like a teenager who just got his license. If I added up all the speeding tickets he’s had just since we got married, it would be enough to buy a secret keeper!

Small, but kinda funny whine today:
I’m working on a giant cross stitch project. It’s called “Burlesque Zombie” and has a total of 51,136 stitches. So to keep track of what I’ve done I made copies of the pattern and mark the stitches off as I do them. The only visible stitches are the ones I haven’t done and the ones I have done aren’t in my way to confuse me. Last night I left the room for a few minutes and when I came back the whole paper was marked! My littlest one took my marker and colored all the squares that weren’t colored! I asked him if he did it and he said, “I fix it for you coz I love you Mommy!” and gave me a hug. So frustrated but how can you be mad at that answer?

My hubby swears they smell like Fritos. He kept accusing me of hiding a bag of Fritos from him in our bedroom, for days we couldn’t figure out where the smell was coming from!
I run a tiny eBay store, fritos…I mean packing peanuts are like GOLD in this house. If they didn’t cost so much to ship I would buy them from you guys!

I suggest looking at local classifieds that where I get mine. I recently got an 8 cubic feet bag of peanuts for $5.00.

I never thought to look for peanuts there! Thanks, LIH!! Lately I’ve been giving my hubby the excuse “I need to buy a Windstone, I’m out of peanuts”, LOL.

I got this lil’ lady. It’s night time here, so all I could get is a cruddy cell phone pic. She actually arrived last week, but I wasn’t home to open it until today. I’ll get some clearer pics tomorrow in the daylight. She’s a really pretty bright blue with some purple on her head and metallic periwinkle(?) eyes. I like her, but I’d be happy to trade for a leafy one or one of the few “bat-wing” type ones.

Did these ones come with Poad cards? I double checked through the box, but I didn’t find a card.
