Mine could be here as early as tomorrow!
**WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE**BITING NAILS**Okay im a little lost now 😕 Can someone please explain what the “kickstarter ” is ?????? unless I missed some of the posts explaining.
I used Kickstarter twice. It’s a website where fans pledge money to help fund companies, artists, etc. to complete a project. It helps smaller companies and such pay for the materials or whatever they need to complete their project. Usually they offer packages, for example: if you pledge $100+ you get a *blank* in the future, for $200 you get a *bigger blank* in the future. From my assumption, you would be prepaying to secure yourself a grab bag when they are completed! I think it sounds like a GREAT idea! No more drooling over my computer screen to hope I can nab one when the appear in the store!
I once pledged a good chunk of change for one of my favorite authors to kill a character with my name in his next zombie novel, LOL! I also pledged $20 to get my name in the end credits of a movie. Unfortunately those projects didn’t get enough pledges to fund their movies. 🙁I don’t disagree with the price increase at all. My worry is that I really REALLY prefer candy corns and the chances of getting a candy corn are very low because there are a lot more safaris than candies. I have massive apprehension that the odds are very much not in my favor on this and, what has been concerning many people apparently, might have been more comforted knowing which style that I just splurged on.
I don’t think anyone is saying the unicorns themselves aren’t worth it, it’s the fear of getting the style that doesn’t appeal to the buyer. To me, the price is a bargain for a candy corn: too much for a safari. Other people are vice versa. It’s a nailbiting purchase! The “unknown” factor is going to make it hard here though. I’m buying one, but if I get one I don’t like it’s going to be a disappointing buy considering the cost…
Ditto. I don’t have any gripes about the price. If I KNEW that I had just ordered a candy corn I wouldn’t be feeling so crappy about it. If I open the box and it’s a safari corn, the other side of the world will be able to hear my mournful cry. 🙁 I DID order one because it’s the only option there is to try to get one of the candy corns. 🙁
I’m really really hoping that they will be split into two groups, I really prefer the crazy fantasy ones. Trading has been such a nightmare for me recently that I avoided the last two rounds of grab bags. :'(
First: Paint-puke-magic-mushroom-covered in glitter!!
Second: I haven’t looked at the forum in over two months and the day I come back I walk right into the thing that sickened me in the first place.
First of all, IMO when something sells out as fast as GB unicorns do, then the price is TOO LOW. (get your baskets of tomatoes and get ready to throw at me) These are pieces of original art by a world renowned artist, not EVERYone SHOULD be able to afford them, that’s what makes original art so special. Most people have to save for months, even years, and are still never able to afford an artist’s original work. I think we all (MYSELF INCLUDED) have gotten spoiled off the past batches of grab bags. Most of us buy several Windstones a year, and then get irritated when one comes along that we can’t afford. The less you can buy = the more you will appreciate the ones you already have and ARE ABLE to get. And if you do shell out more than you wanted and get one you hate, it’s not hard at all to sell them for what you paid for them. I didn’t buy a baby from the most recent batch because I thought the price was way too high for colors that aren’t my cup o’ tea, did that cause them to not sell out? I think $300-$350+ range is more than a fair raise. Will I have $350 when they are ready? Maybe, maybe not. Will I be p*ssed at Windstone if I can’t afford one? NO. I’m gonna go take a Midol and lay down, I’ll see y’all in another two months. My ‘corn was shipped today! 😀 I already see some great things up for trade! OH, the anticipation!! **wiggle, wiggle**
Congrats, Hannah, he’s BEAUTIFUL!! He’s in the store pic, isn’t he?
Cats do LOVE fuzzies! There are several fuzzies hiding under large appliances in my house to hide from our hyper kitten (my older cat prefers those plastic rings from milk jugs!).
Luckily my **CATS** have never broken a Windstone, but my Lynx Point likes to spoon with my hubby’s Old Warrior, LOL. Now my four year old twin boys on the other hand….. :tired:Jennifer, I remember once before you told us about a foam packet that will take the shape of the item you’re packing. For the life of me I can’t remember what you said it is called! Do you know the stuff I’m talking about?
**HUGS** I’m so sorry to hear that, Kiya. If there’s anything at all I can do for you, just tell me. <3
I think if you like something and want MOOOORE that makes you a collector, not necessarily EVERY piece, just MOOOOORE in general. If you’re craving another Windstone, then yes, you could be classified as a collector. XD
Lysithian, I think Hagen Renaker figurines are what started me collecting figurines when I was little! I remember going to a local craft store with my mom and always getting a tiny mouse for like a quarter or a little kitten for 75 cents, I always looked forward to getting to pick out a new critter everytime we went! 🙂 I still have a bunch on my desk!
That exact same thing happened to me recently, but the “save to PDF” worked and I could print it from there.
I think Pixie-Dust is probably right, their website might be funky while they raise everything right now. If you can’t get it to work for ya, you have 24 hours to go into your transaction history and you can cancel the label and get your money back (it takes several days to get it back, but it does come back eventually!). Sorry I can’t be of more help. 🙁 -
