*looks in wallet* Hmmm…:>

Character 1: What are we going to do now?
Character 2: I do not know about you, but I am going to scream and run.
Character 1: Good idea!And yes, that’s from an 80’s movie. π
LOL, I just realized the colours I tripped up on are the colour of my dad’s eyes, and my dad and I always end up “arguing” (in quotes because it’s never SERIOUS) over his eye colour. I always say a cable blue, he says green. XD This is making more sense all the time.
As for monitors, I suspect they play a pretty big role. The difference between the display on a LCD and an oldskool CRT monitors can be insane. I like to think that I have my monitor pretty well calibrated with my NVIDA card so that it does well for a medium-end monitor. Considering that the same colours I tripped up on are the same colours that I argue about with my dad and his eye colour about, I really shouldn’t be surprised. π³
I got tripped up by the aqua blues and greens myself. I KNEW I DIDN’T LIKE THOSE COLOURS FOR A REASON.
Aw man I knew I wouldn’t like my score. I got a “7”. 8(
(I know, I know, it isn’t BAD, but as an artist I’d prefer perfect. Maybe I stare at bright colours too much…)
Okay this next bunch is HEAVY PICSPAM because I did a whole bunch of these commissions.
But first a birthday present for a friend of mine of her little rat character being floated off into the air via a too-small balloon. Rather fond of this one.
Small sketchy commission for Kalamu of her awesome wingless gryphon character. She’s a sneakyburd. >)
My “digital watercolour” commissions, done with india ink brushpens, loose Photoshop colouring, and abuse of texture layers in Photoshop. People seem to love these. This one’s for Champawat, a friend from my old Lion King fanart days.
FRYSCO! The one and only rainbow lorikeet gryfsune. (Gryphon/ kitsune.) VERY fun piece to do, I love bright colours, I love parrots, and of course I love gryphons. So of course I enjoyed it. :>
‘Nother commission for a friend, this time of C Eagle, an uber-friendly music-loving eagle. People seem to like this one. :>
I guess I should explain this one. One of my good friends writes a great series of science fiction stories, complete with her own alien races she’s spent a long time developing. This character is one of those alien races- well, technically, she’s a “synthoid” fashioned after her alien race- the alien equivalent of an android. Here Mirri displays her “default” expression- utter cluelessness. X)I’ve been busy, yah.
I LOVE the surreal one and the robot dragon. (Well, duh.) And the little Enterprise that you snuck into your space race drawing made me snerk. π
I always wondered if there was some purple conspiracy here. o.O For a while I always got you purple critters confused. (Sorry, but it’s true!)
Purple was my favourite colour in elementary school, and I still love purplish-blue, so it’s understandable. π
August 19, 2008 at 3:09 pm in reply to: Everyone: What movie lines do you find yourself quoting… #728082My friend Pan and I (the one that lives in Amarillo) have a language built entirely around Short Circuit quotes.
Yes, I am serious.
“Hmm, still lumpy” must be said any time cooking is involved.
“I do not travel with bananas, sir!”
“Don’t worry little lady, I’ll fix their wagon!”
“Have we created another Frankfurter’s monster?”
“No, people LIKE you, craphead is a compliment!”
“May I have this, craphead?”
“Fish! Salmon! SUUUUSHI!”
And of course: “Input input input input (repeat ad nausem)”
IN REAL LIFE where I hide that particular fandom…I dunno, I mostly quote TV shows. And a lot of the movies I DO quote already ended up here. (“You keep using that word. I do not believe you know what it means.”)
I also like Dr. Evil’s “All I wanted was some sharks with fricken laser beams on their heads, is that so much to ask?!” And anytime the word “magma” is said on TV either me or my dad have to say “liquid hot maaagma” in Dr. Evil’s voice. XD
Sad, innit?
I’ve had my LiveJournal up for about…six years I believe. It seems to switch from being a place where I’m really profound to really stupid.
Oh, and I also post art there, too. WIPs and stuff are under filters, but I usually add anyone on my f-list to my WIP/sketch filter. π
I think it was more a couple hours they were all gone.
Of course, there were two of us (including me) who took 3, so we didn’t help AT ALL. (Yeah I know I’m greedy.)
Having a knack for being in the right place at the right time helps. (I got my mint black Windstone griffin off eBay for $75 BIN that way- it was only minutes into the auction and I grabbed him!)
Me too…my teachers loved me for my drawing all through school…I’ve even gotten little notes saying “cute!” if I doodled in the margins. X)
Great stuff, everyone. π
IT CAME!!!!!!
It was kind of a scary day for it to come considering it was raining all lunch hour, which is when the mail comes. (Poor mail guy, when does he eat? π ) But they’re nice and dry and BEAUTIFUL.
So. ADORABLE. Little birdie (cardinal?) squaking in the griffie’s ear. XD
Homg more gryphs YAY. He does not seem happy, despite having a very nice dress collar. X)
Very content winged wolf. What a smile. :>THANK YOU, NAM! They are too pretty. π
Oh wow, the last batch has some really diabolical kitties!
I LOVE IT!
For some reason the washing machine one makes me think of Calvin and Hobbes. X)
Okay I remember one of the old forums I used to go to had this thread and it was really fun, I thought it may be fun here. π
Do any of the artists here have their old art to show off? And I mean like, art done when still in grade school, middle school, even elementary school! Some think it’s embarrassing, but I think it’s fun! We can see how far we’ve gotten!
I wish I had my art from before middle school, but none of it has lasted. π But I’ll start off with my silly middle school art! They’re good for a laugh!
This is what one of my types of robots (the kind that my “personal character” evolved from) originally looked like! This is probably the oldest drawing I have on me. It’s from around 1999.
I just discovered Photoshop. XD
Okay. Look at the gryphons at my regular art thread. Then look at this. Then laugh REALLY HARD. πI can’t believe that was only seven years ago. XD
Fanart, but at least this shows that I learned a lot within a year of using Photoshop. XDOkay, I got it started. Anybody else?
