I agree, and would still love a mixed batch of Emeralds 😀
Red eyes w/red gems, and orange eyes w/jonquil gems, pretty pretty please!!!Oh yes! One to match my orange-eyed male would be amazing 🙂
I’m a strong advocate of retired colours in general just to complete the families!
If the “no edges” dragons have a better chance… February is coming up, and I’d just die for a matching Amethyst to match its family and my birthstone 😉
I guess it depends where you are, as far as Canada Post being open. In my area, they are open both Saturday and Sunday and long hours during the week. If you said 10 days, then I guess that’s what it is. But, honestly, I think that 10 days is a long time for the buyer to wait for you to get their purchase in the mail.
That’s good to know. Since they are government-operated, I assumed they might all be the same or similar. Our local ones are closed weekends and have bad hours during the week. (I mean closing at 5:30, really?) I think I will update my listings to mention this.
10 days is on the longer side – it usually takes me less than a week. I only put “up to ten days” just in case.
I guess I’m used to always checking shipping because I live in Canada also – Meaning prices and handling times, expected arrivals etc. are different all the time! It didn’t occur to me that it wasn’t normal.
I’m taking it with me tonight to ship when we get groceries. Thankfully they’re in Canada so it should only take a few days to get to them 🙂
No, they already paid me, I think they are irritated that it’s been 5 days and not shipped yet.
I think I will start mentioning that Canada Post is not open weekends, also. 🙁 At least, nowhere around here, if anywhere.
Oh, and as a bonus, my husband has been sick the past few days… like barely-leaving-bed sick. Which would free up his truck for me, but I don’t know how to drive standard, haha.
Ebay is not supposed to be stressful!
Wowww congrats Kim! That’s awesome!
I think I could do that for you – For colour-matching purposes though, are they the simple black-and-gold it looks like, with a gloss finish?
I’ll send you a PM!
Congrats! He’s lovely 🙂
. Starting from the last paragraph, I’m really hoping that Fire Berry doesn’t look anything even similar to Violet Flame. I understand that if Fire Berry does, in fact, become a Production or Limited Production color scheme, that it will be altered somewhat to keep the Test Paint “special”. I’m just hoping that it’s not altered in such a way that it’s too bright
An Earthy green color scheme would be awesome.. especially if Fire Berry was released as a Production/LP color. Moss and Fire Berry really compliment each other well 🙂
I’d love to see a more “true” green color available since Emerald was retired.Seconded; I was personally REALLY excited about Fire Berry specifically BECAUSE it was different from Violet Flame (which is pretty but not my thing – just don’t like the purple/gold combo myself)
I also think Moss would be a lovely compliment.
Basically since the official Red and Green colours are more or less all out of production, I think Fire Berry and Moss would be perfect counterparts.
I’m a last second bidder for one reason, and one reason only: it keeps my spending in check. If I bid the maximum of what I think the item is worth to me at the last second and then get outbid, I don’t have time to bid again! If I don’t do this I will continue to bid thinking, “Just a couple bucks more! Just a couple more! maybe I can still win it!!”…until I’m at a number I regret! Sometimes I win by a few bucks, sometimes I lose the auction by hundreds, etc. I HAVE to bid at the last second, because even if I don’t REALLY love the item I will keep bidding because I just HAVE TO WIN! It’s an adrenaline rush! I snipe for my own good XD
I’ve done this before! For me, a bidwar is a good way to end up with an item I love, but at a price I couldn’t technically afford. :p Better just to put in one bid and be done. If I do this, waiting til the end makes the most sense.
I have no problem with it.
If I didn’t place my max bid and it was outbid at the last second – that’s my fault, not theirs! :p
I feel a lot better placing my ACTUAL max bid, that way if a sniper gets me, it’s just something I couldn’t afford anyway.
The new foxes are amazing! I had no idea they were even made until I saw them on Facebook!
I was wondering what other pebble animals you have coming up.
I seem to remember someone asking about weasels or ferrets? How about badgers?
Or… Lion Kirin?..
Oriental dragon?
Monkey?
Lol. Not that you don’t have a ton to do, but if you need ideas I’m sure everyone would be happy to help! There is a sitting pebble grey fox that we haven’t painted yet.
Grey foxes are so pretty in their natural grey fox color I may just do a batch of them all the same, not a grab bag.
I try to stick to simple rounded animals for pebbles, so dragons and other detailed, pointy things are difficult. I have a pebble dragon that I have been considering for years… but -eh. Too hard. I’ll keep poking at it.
I have been working on a horse pebble. Jeese, there is so much horse art out there already! -but I just wanted to. I have never done a normal horse without wings or horns. And I want to do a pebble chicken… andjeesethereissomuchchickenartouttherealready!!
-butIjustwantto.Pebble chicken :>
A second to violet flame orientals!
Yes, yes!
September 30, 2015 at 10:53 pm in reply to: determining production & limited production colors #935161I’m fairly brimming with curiosity about the inner cogs and the hows of things. Doesn’t matter the topic; I love learning how things work.
Thus, I’m veeeery interested in knowing how you manage to select color schemes for production, whether it be limited production or a larger store-stock run? I would imagine that part of it–at least for the main store batches–revolves around which schemes you feel have the best capacity to sell. But given ALL of the many various test paints we’ve seen, how do you narrow that down to store-runs and limited production runs? What kind of factors go into choosing them? Etc.
Thanks!
Theoretically “production” means items that we make in large batches, and always have on hand, boxed and ready to ship to retailers. They are our standard colors, painted by our production painters in pretty, but not overly detailed paint jobs.
I have been prefering the bright metallic colors to sell wholesale, because they show up well on a store shelf. The subtler colors aren’t as suited for that purpose. A color that is “production” needs to be as simple and foolproof to paint as possible. We have changed the meaning of the term “limited production” several times!
When we started using the words “Limited production”, that was what we called colors that we were retiring, but still had some inventory left.
It then came to mean items that we would paint from time to time in smaller batches, but we wouldn’t always have them boxed and ready to ship instantly. This was important for gift stores to know, especially around Christmas. Then “limited production” came to mean small batches of special colors that I painted and signed, but weren’t numbered, like limited editions.
Now, since we make almost everything in small batches, “limited production” has come to be what we call most of the newer colors we make.
How we decide what colors to make as production or limited production: It is kinda random…
If you have noticed, we constantly do lots of wild “test paints” that we sell on ebay. If one of them is a reasonably easy color to paint, seems popular, and is a color we need, it might get made as production or limited production color next. For example, we retired the “Red Fire” color, so “Fire Berry” could be next in line to replace it. And although the “Black Rainbow” is one of my favorites, we already have a couple basic black dragon colors, so I don’t want to make that one a limited production color yet.So Fire Berry is going to be a production colour…? 😀
September 21, 2015 at 4:56 am in reply to: Crestfallen – Ebay's International Shipping program strikes again #934647Do you have the piece that chipped off or would you have to get someone to repair or re-sculpt that part? I am sure someone here could do a good job or fixing it for you like Drag0nfeathers or another repair artist.
I have… well, lots of pieces, most of them dust or similar. I have one horn piece I placed back in carefully. I’m hoping to Apoxie the rest, attempt to re-sculpt it… After that, we’ll just see how it goes..!
The whole business really is kind of cringe-worthy, you can tell they just bought out some courier company that will do the quickest job for the cheapest 🙁 And the courier doesn’t have to answer to us, just eBay, and I’m guessing eBay doesn’t care all that much. Very frustrating.
