I’ve seen that stuff and the gel the beads are suspended in seems pretty thick (probably to keep the beads from sinking in it). If the gel were thinner it might make the beads more mobile and easier to get into a single layer.
I’ve never used it because I wasn’t thrilled with the idea of a bumpy surface texture. Maybe you could try experimenting with the thickness. I would, but I don’t have any of that medium on hand at the moment.

Well, I collect Dragonball Z figures, Dragonball Z cels, doujinshi, manga, art books (instructional and showcase), anime, books (fantasy and science fiction), glass figures, pewter figures and video games. Since I’ve tightened my budget I don’t collect nearly as much anymore. Which is probably for the best because I don’t actually have space for too much more without some severe reorganizing/gutting of my collections.
My still active collections are my Dragonball Z figures, doujinshi, cels and Windstones. These have all slowed to only the occasional purchase when something REALLY calls to me. Being responsible with my money sucks. 😉

Thread, wire, key chains, the ball socket chains you see used with military dog tags, etc. I have used round links of bronze colored chain in the past. But I had to open the links with a pair of needle nose pliers and then close them again when they’re in place. It risks scratching the paint or gouging the gypsum so I don’t like it…but it looks so pretty at the same time. -sighs- Ah well.

Their faces and eyes are very appealing and have character. And I really like the tone of the colors you used. Bright and soft (but not TOO soft). They’re very happy looking illustrations. Refreshing to look at.
