I really really like her. You’ve got the shading down great.
I have rather limited experience painting, and have done only 1 PYO. I was nervous before starting it, and am even more nervous to start the next- haven’t bought it yet, or all the paint.
One thing I’m finding hard is that I keep seeing ideas I have pop up on new PYOs from others. I don’t want to seem like I’m plaigarizing!I just realized I didn’t have a pic of all my old greens together, so here they are (sorry it’s a terrible quickie pic). I believe this is all that was made in this color. I’d love to get all of them in it! (see siggie esp. them lol)
Anybody for starting a collection to buy the factory a batch of old green paint?
lovely! I do so wish lilacs would grow here, I saw some up North and they were WONderful. And yes, daddy looks peeved!
I sold one to someone here on the forum a few months back for $350.
I like them best in the matte finish like her, with the brown, as opposed the the shinier finish like the fledge. She’s a beauty!
You can pop the eyes out without damaging them? One of the biggest problems my fiance had with my husky/wolf was that the eyes were in opposite of his dogs (it was an odd eyed one).
I don’t care for the sitting up poses- they just don’t seem right on an equine. The rearing ones (like in the pic) seem fine to me.
my coil/curlies are a separate species- kind of like fire lizards. They are the only ones that I think I’d like to keep in the emerald/empea. The original family are different enough in sculpt that they are a separate species as well; the emperor is a subspecies of them. While the royal hatchlings are yet another. (maybe the same as the SK?)
I’m leaning towards BVP, only because as has been pointed out, the BEP and empea are somewhat similar; the BVP is more distinct. Plus there seem to be a lot of purple lovers who could be satisfied by the BVP- us green lovers already have empea.
Yes, they did, and he’s the twin of my old green emperor- they’re colorblind. Good luck wolflodge, he’s a beauty! If I didn’t already own him, I’d be duking it out for him. (think mine cost about $275 new, so that wouldn’t have been unreasonable in any case)
Ooooh and if there is GREEN OW’s, I am sooooo on top of that! But I suppose there isn’t enough paint to do many of them for direct sales. I think that since they were retired there have been so many new collectors who love that color it might be feasible to make more? I just love my green family! I have all of them that have come out in green. And I’d buy alot more of them if more sculpts came out in the old green.
My thoughts exactly! Can we start a fund to buy a batch of old green paint? I’d replace everything I own that isn’t old green with old green, if I could!
He says thank you lol!
Yes, he’s a prototype. I only have him for an OW, so I can’t do a comparison pic, sorry. I think there’s supposed to be something different about the neck or the way the head and wings lie also?
You guys in Tampa are getting it also? Between the Georgia/North Florida fires, and having a smaller one (+/- 200 acres) one only 5 miles from home…
Kinda scary, after the ’98 fires!
I can’t know this far ahead when i can be online- my work schedule varies. I can try though!
Red, hmm? I could use that! Too bad they don’t make a silver also.
Yep, those are (or were- both are gone now) my Aussies- Doomer was the red, and Pip the blue. She’s where I got my screen name. I’ve always had and still do have Aussies, my Mick girl now is Doomer’s neice. I saw your pretty red in the avatar!
Sorry mine is so huge! I made it as small as Photobucket would let me, and it’s still too big! I’ll delete it sorry. I’m a computer nincompoop, so I don’t know how to do any better.
Thanks! Do think it looks better on the Wsterns than the Orientals.

I had my almost-dream job for several years- I was vet tech at a private low-kill animal shelter. It was low budget also, so I was on my own, essentially vet as well as tech, cruelty investigator, pooper scooper, pickups and delivery since i had a truck, adoptions… The pay sucked, no benefits, no money meant the facility always needed lots of help, but I was able to survive (got a second job bartending towards the end). The shelter was taken over by a well funded high-kill humane society from the next county over; they ditched the old employees. (low-kill is the lowest profit way to run a shelter, BTW, and guarantees you won’t get help from organizations like HSUS)
I’d love to have my old job back, although hopefully without the funding issues. And with insurance.
