Thanks! White did seem the closest, but in person he really doesn’t look..well, white. He looks off white, almost pale gold, so I convinced myself he was something else.
The white color varied a bit over the years it was produced (as did all the colors that were produced over many years). I’ve seen a few that were quite golden. It was never a bright, pure white. It was usually more ivory.
They do vary! Most of my White family is very white, but my Male looks more like that Fledgling, with a heavier overlay of interference gold. 🙂 Interference colors like to play havoc with the “what color is this?” game, since their appearance is so different depending on lighting! In some lights my Male almost matches the rest; in others he is strongly golden.

For dragons who are too dirty for canned air or a soft cloth, I use a medium-to-soft paintbrush (with natural, not plastic, bristles) dipped in water. Working in small patches, I lightly brush the water over the dirty areas to get all the grunge out of the crevices, then wipe the brush on a cloth and go back over the area to pick up excess water. Blot with the cloth, too, if needed.

He’s been retired since 2004, so he predates Windstone’s site!
They sold for $80-90 when they were available. I don’t see one on Ebay right now, but they pop up pretty frequently there.

Love love love the Astral Griffins! I remember being smitten with them back when they first hit Ebay, and they haven’t gotten one whit less beautiful. 🙂 Congrats on your grail families, and may you find that missing baby Kirin someday!

I always thought the Grimalkincat in “Spooky” was the best Halloween piece.
How about a “Spooky” Leaf Cat? Though it’s getting kinda late for this Halloween.
I think the “spooky” Grimalkin is an excellent Halloween piece. Autumn leaf or copper patina leaf cat sconces would be great for fall. I think it would also be nice to see it in all green shades. A spring/summer leaf cat sconce.
How about all four seasons? The winter one could be black & brown with frosted edges. A four-season set would be awesome!
Oooooh, I would absolutely love four seasons of Leaf Cats! Especially if the spring version looked like the “Spring Bud” test paints we saw a while ago; I adored that color so much. <3

I hope you can find a green one soon, to round out the rainbow! It’s so frustrating when one color is missing, isn’t it? (For a long time, my Lap conga had no purple because Peacock was the only purplish color available; and while there’s Blue Morpho now, I’m still waiting for a solid/deep blue.)

I would also love some “spooky silhouette” Pebbles, but can’t really afford another GB this year and it sure sounds like Melody has her hands full with kickstarters and GB Unibabies! Maybe next year we can have some cat-bat-owl-and-creepy-tree silhouette pieces for Halloween?
But I was hoping for something on the more reasonable end of the price spectrum for this Halloween/fall, and Cat Sconces are under $100, very seasonally appropriate, 🙂 have regular production (i.e. doesn’t require Melody to divert attention from GBs) colors, and have been out of stock for a while!
My collection doesn’t have any Windstone sconces yet, and have always really loved the Leaf Cats – more so now that I have cats of my own! I thought they’d make a great autumn offering, and I’m really hoping we’ll get some restocking of both Autumn Leaf and the original bronze/verdigris colors eventually! Even if a new color is too much work.

For my two cents, I agree that a “Kickstarter Exclusive” sculpt should remain a Kickstarter Exclusive and not become a grab bag or holiday release later.
I will add, however, I don’t see any reason that bean Poads couldn’t appear again if Melody ever offers another Kickstarter. The language in the KS didn’t say they were a [i]one-time[/i] release, so perhaps if Melody comes up with another project somewhere down the road that she wants to fund via KS, the bean Poads will spring into action to raise the money! 😀
