Hey, look at that: “royal purple” suits the Emperor very well! 🙂

Can anyone tell me why Paradise looks so familiar? I feel like it resembles a color scheme from eons ago, but can’t put my finger on it
I’ve been thinking this ever since the first Paradise piece came out! At first I thought of the Egyptian Lazuli color:
But when I went back and looked at it, it was browner than I’d remembered.
What they really remind me of most is a combination of the old “Kingfisher” and “Hawaii” test paints:
Barn Swallow, which someone else has posted great pictures of, is another one it resembles.

Seconding Courtney – I really like the brown eyes with the copper!
(Stilll love teal the best, though! My teal-eyed CP Lap is my only teal-eyed piece, so that makes it special to me.) 🙂

I’m in a holding pattern with a grail; had a contact from someone willing to sell, but real-life stuff has tied them up and I don’t want to jostle their elbow while they’re handling that, so I’m just sitting and waiting! Low-key excited all the time, but waiting. 🙂

Definitely email Susie! She was able to send me a new horn when one of my Lap Dragons lost one in a move. 🙂

I really miss the days when there were multiple test paints on a sculpt for a color scheme.
There were 25 BEP test OWs, and 15 BVP test OWs, and at least 18 Sunrise test Laps… Those were on the higher end of the scale, and sometimes an idea only got 2-3 tests, but it still made sense to me. Testing usually involves repetition, so making more test pieces seems like it would help with both testing a color for the layout/physical application of it, and testing the interest/range of buyers.
On one level, the ‘completionist’ approach with just one test on each sculpt, but including a wider number of sculpts, makes some sense, too; but if I had to pick, I’d go with more each of specific pieces.

Awww, I think the Kinglet is the cutest Woodland so far! I love his speckledy egg and little green toes. 🙂

If I purchased a Windstone test paint on eBay and Melody decided to started painting that color as a limited paint, will my test paint be worth more or less?
For all test pieces, the answer is ultimately going to be “it depends on who’s buying,” but I’d say that a test color becoming a production color generally means you won’t be able to sell the test paint for what you paid for it. The more closely it resembles the production version, the less people are going to be willing to pay (after all, they could get a brand-new production piece straight from the company for $x, so why pay more than x for something that looks about the same?)
Some test paints look very close to the production color (like Silver or Black Sunset), while others look quite different (like Pastel Rainbow, Wolf), and some are in between (like BVP). The more differences, the more likely you are to be able to push the price up a bit, but I can’t imagine (for example) anyone being willing to buy my BVP test paint OW for $635 when they can get a regular-run BVP OW for less than half that! Not that I intend to ever part with him. 🙂
If they’re really different, it’s more likely there will be people who like the test version but not the production version, and are willing to pay more for it.

He’s very lovely, but as always I’m holding out for specific dragon or griffin sculpts, so best of luck to all of you who are entering!

I know I’ve seen one or two listed for around $300, so I feel like $175 is much more reasonable… Don’t remember what they originally retailed for, but maybe someone has that info?

I still like Guardian Dragon best, but I also like Seer, and would like to suggest “Squire Dragon” on the basis that he could be a juvenile version of the Old Warrior! And a warrior in training is a squire. 🙂
Please no more names that closely resemble names we already have? It makes ebay or google searches harder when names are shared, especially when the complete name of one is part of the name of the other, as with Keeper & Mini Keeper & Secret Keeper / Emperor & Hatching Emperor / Spectral & Rising Spectral / Hatching (and Hatching v2) & Hatching Empress & Hatching Kinglet & Hatching Emperor.
