I saw the new set of sand and green dragons in the fb group. Gonna toss out my suggestion of Desert Lichen.
If someone already made that suggestion on facebook ignore me. I can’t read comments on there rn.
I was gonna suggest Lichen Stone but a quick Google search showed it’s a color of paint.
Is it too late for me to join? I haven’t done these before but I’d like to give something new a shot.
Some pieces have sold for a reasonably decent price lately. Good to see that prices are getting within reach of more people.
It’s good to see that there’s a lot of pieces within a general theme (rainbow zebra, okapi w/ flowers, etc) to help satisfy demand. Hope the folks that are able to buy one can get or trade for something they’re happy with (I don’t care for safari so I didn’t sign up).
The text in the middle panel and water in the bottom panel have some wonkiness to them. And smudging of the wings in the first panel.
(Ugh I hate how facebook basically forces you to log in or create an account to see anything nowadays. I refuse to sign in without the VPN on my laptop!)
They remind me of Carnival. Too bad a set name like like Carnival/Rio/Mardi Gras wouldn’t get any votes.
Finished a new piece! This one’s name is Dramatic Deco. A lot of it is inspired by the art deco style, with some peacock feather-colored accents to add a bit of color. He’s coated with a glossy varnish to show off all the metallic gold and bronze.
If somebody is completely smitten with this piece I’d be willing to sell it, or if someone wants something similar on a different sculpt (or even on another Snerl) I can paint it on commission.
Here’s the piece I painted for the swap, Gilded Gemstones!
Two of the requests were metallic accents and jewel tones, and the theme was green and black butterfly. I used colorshift flakes on the wings, along with lots of metallic green and gold/silver accents to tie things together. The feathered part of the body was painted with a metallic black paint, then antiqued to give it a dark bronze look.
In the end the combination of darker colors and fine gold outlining reminded me a lot of the art deco style.Just looks like a normal rock tbh. Make sure to boil it well (twice preferably) before you put it in your aquarium to remove any nasties from it.
Sent mine in!^^
Two unexpected car repair bills and surgery to remove a tumor my cat had. That’s more than enough for this month!
I was supposed to fully move into my house at the end of this month but after the car and cat surgery bills I don’t have the budget for it.
There isn’t too much snow here in Michigan but it’s super cold. I think the cold did in the old kitchen faucet at my house. Hopefully the plumber I like will be able to replace it quickly.
It’s been quite some time, but now that I’ve moved and settled in a bit (and have been massively itching to paint something), I was wondering if anyone would like to do a Foo Pup swap? I have one that’s been waiting quite some time for his turn to be painted. He’ll have red eyes (not sure if I have any other colors of 5mm eyes on-hand but I can double-check).
I know that the Foo Pup is currently out of stock, but maybe somebody hoarded one.
If you’re an established member and would like to do the swap send me a pm and we can iron out the details.
(I may cross-post this to the FB official fan group, but I wanted to post this here first where there’s a smaller audience)That Black Nebula Mouse Wizard is adorable! I would love to see something like that show up in the store.
Thank you very much!^^
