They are all so beautiful! I am just gonna say that this is my favorite grab bag series so far!
My Kirin arrived safely on Thursday and I was able to pick him up from the Post Office on Friday. I really have to get some photos of him up soon along with a few other photos. If you have watched the youtube video of them.. I am the happy Kirin Father to “Bubbly” the champagne colored Kirin that appears about 20 mins into the video. Bipolarbear said they called him Bubbly.. so that is his name! I adore him! Currently Bubbly is visiting with Bonsai my PYO Kirin.Oh my gosh 3 grab bags at once! So much work.. but how lucky and grateful all of us will be when they appear in the stores and after in our homes! I am excited to hear about the safari pebble grey foxes. I have been wanting to collect the pebble sculpts.
I love the piglets in the last photo of older sculpts. I don’t know why.. but they make me smile when I see them.
I love all the Kirins! I would be happy with a new family to.. or just any family period! It would be nice to see them in the store. I agree though I think they will sell fast!
Aggie83 I love your forum picture of your Kirin! I was watching the Male Unicorn to.. he did skyrocket a lot in price at the end. Wowzers. I hope to a forum member got him. I figure it must be that collects that color pattern… and was very determined to have him. He is beautiful so I hope he goes to a loving new home!
I agree with Kim.. if you do go the route of the Detolf cabinets from Ikea.. only display light smaller pieces in these cabinets.
Besides Windstones, I also collect Walt Disney Classic Collection pieces. I could go on and on about how beautiful they are.. but they are no longer being made.. retired and some pieces are harder to get. Anyhow a collector had amassed a fantastic collection of “It’s a Small World” characters and had them displayed in an Ikea Detolf cabinet. One night she awoke to a loud sound of breaking dishes to only discover that the two upper shelves cracked and dumped her collection on top of each other breaking pieces in the process. These sculpts are made out of porcelain so you can only imagine the amount of damage. This had been a collection that grew over years.
I myself have 3 of these cabinets. I only keep my Disney Designer Dolls in them as well as my Star Wars Hot Toys figures in them. Anything heavy in these would make me nervous. The shelves can flip as they just sit on two bars. They make me nervous. Lol I should mention I have a room dedicated to Disney Collectibles. I would go with wooden shelves personally for your collection. I would make sure that it is secure especially if you have a lot of unique one of a kind pieces like the ebay auction pieces.
I often tell myself if you are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on your collection, then it only makes sense that you should spend money on a decent display cabinet. You get better craftsmanship in the end.
I just saw that about an hour ago on Melody’s Instagram page she posted a picture up of Poads all painted up in a fantasy style. The caption was “Grab Bag”… are they the next grab bag offering?!!!
Everyone has such beautiful Kirin Babes! Its nice to see them having made their journey to their homes. I am in Canada like Kim on here.. so hopefully ours show up this week! Mine is on some fantastic journey. So far he/she has left Oregon, headed over to L.A and was last in Toronto lol. I hope to have mine by Tuesday.. or Wednesday. Might be more like Thursday since I am in B.C. and my Baby Kirin will most likely have to get on another plane and fly to Vancouver to get to me lol. Talk about air miles!
Thanks Melody! Sounds like they are getting closer to being available to us! Perhaps late Spring.. early Summer?
Oh my gosh they are all so beautiful! I don’t yet have a hatching dragon.. maybe I will be able to adopt one from the auction! I love all the others so much.. the teal family is my fav.. but the red and green ones are also beautiful! I was lucky enough it must have been luck or dragon magic, but I did win one of Ginas pieces. I say luck cause they go up in price on ebay auction quite fast as there are some aggressive bidders out there lol. I have the celebration mini secret keeper. I adore him. His name is Amadeus lol. He sort of has a Rococo look to him.. so that’s how he came to have his name. Anyhow he is gorgeous in person… which makes me want at least one of these guys you have coming up!
