I used to be a collector lots of different types of things. However, almost all of it sat in boxes for about ten years. I finally decided to sell most of it, but to collectors who would appreciate them, by looking for places like this forum. I didn’t hear back from most of my buyers, but those who took the time to get back to me after receiving their item made me feel like I did the right thing, even though I was also sad to let go of my valued things. They appreciated the special items, in outstanding condition. One guy even sent me pictures of the Sega CD game he bought from me, that he bought a special easel to display on a table away from his other items.
I started out by only selling a few things, but after getting appreciation from buyers, I felt more confident to sell more. Anyone holding onto items, but feeling bad about it, can try selling just one piece, and then take time to think about how it felt.
Anyway, FYI, drag0nfeathers, I’ll be in your area the Saturday after Xmas. You are welcome to come cuddle my Corgis any time that morning and afternoon.

December 17, 2018 at 5:35 pm in reply to: Windstone Appraisals (What is my Windstone worth?) #1549145What would a white lap dragon sell for? I appreciate you guys answering these questions. It helps me decide which pieces to sell. And if anyone sees something they really want when I ask, feel free to contact me.
A white emperor just got listed on eBay for $60. You can try watching that to get an idea of a price when it sells. Since a lap is smaller than the emperor, I would guess it would be worth somewhat less.

They said never had a CoA, but the bottom is signed. I’ll just pass on it.

So if someone is selling one and says it did not come with a COA, buyer beware?
I’m a sucker for blues and greens, but after getting burned so badly on that emerald MCD, I feel like I have to act like a pain in the butt to sellers.

The mystic jade OW looks the best to me because it has the most teal showing.

Well, I finally got an emerald mother coiled dragon. Her colors are so lovely. I love the green with red eyes.
Unfortunately, the seller did not disclose to me that it had been broken, and repaired inexpertly. She charged me a lot for it and denied anything was wrong with it. There is a large patch of deformation and color mismatch on the tail. Also, the horns have extra gold mismatching paint put on them.
I think I will still be on the lookout for another one, one that hasn’t been broken.
Too bad we can’t send things to Windstone Editions for repairs. They should have an in-house doctor.

Oof. Sorry Melody. What a bummer. I don’t know what condition they are in but maybe think of selling them at a supreme discount as “fixer uppers” to make some money back on them.
Folks are mighty clever and might be able to do some PYO magic with them.
I don’t believe that would happen. If Melody doesn’t think the *bad* Sir Garlens are salvageable then they probably would not be good as PYO pieces. And I think Melody had mentioned before that sculpts done as Production pieces would not be available as PYOs – too easy to get confused and have an integrity issue about the authenticity of a painted sculpt as an ‘Official’ Windstone Editions painted piece or not.
perhaps just a cheaper “oppps!” batch then? like a no nitpicking edition?
Or embellish them as a fantasy Garlen grab bag?
It would be so awful for them to go in the trash after nearly being complete.Looking for...

Orion’s a little too busy on the young dragon, but looks great on the emperor. I love the colors, but I am quite partial to them, as seen by my PYOs. lol

Orion is cool, too; my first thought was, “hey, it’s a Striped Orchid x Candytuft hybrid!”
I was thinking Cavern Spring with dark blue snakey stripes.

I haven’t had a minute to do any sculpting! but the flion and a couple other things are still sitting on my sculpting table.
Fewer grab bags! More new sculpting!
