Thanks everyone 🙂 Two weeks will go by real quick here. Excited, nervous. I didn’t live in Seattle when I did live in Washington, so it’ll all be new.

Finally some good news for me… I put my two weeks in at work, and I will be off to Seattle on the 4th.
As many of you long term forum users know, I hate where I live and have wanted to return to Washington state for as long as I can remember. I never thought I would get the chance to return, and yet here it is.
I’m nervous of course. And I’ll be leaving two friends that I have known for so long… one I’ve know for more than half my life (something like 20 years) and another friend I’ve known for about 17 years. That will be rough, but life isn’t always easy or fair. I know I have to do what is right for me in the long run.
Not looking forward to having literally all my stuff in storage except for an old laptop for applying for jobs haha. (it IS nice getting rid of stuff for the move, though)
Hoping this is the start of my life looking better 🙂

From Melody’s Facebook page – updated Work-In-Progress photo of the Qi-lin. He has scales now:

          Oh My Gosh!
          I NEED one of These!
          PLEASE tell me he’s a PYO! I’ve GOT to paint me a Qi-lin! ^_^

          I’m with you!

          Big same. PYO, please 🙂

How have you been? I haven’t seen you around the forum in awhile (though I’m sporadic at best, so perhaps I’m just missing you).

                No red eyed CP? 🙁
I agree with Nightcrow, hope this means you’ll be casting orientals again.

I have several of the Sun dragon. Really, the Sun and Moon dragons are the same dragon, just flipped… but I personally don’t like the Moon dragon’s front feet? So I don’t think I try to purchase him any time soon.
I’m bias but I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the oriental sculpts.

Hopefully this means the pyo oriental will finally be restocked…

I haven’t painted a pyo in a long while, but I use hard pastels. When I first started painting them way too long ago, I used the liquitex brand acrylics. Any brand will work really. Just no oil paints.

Oh, I’m a fan of the third color scheme…

I hope that the people who are paying sky high prices for the “Calypso” pieces are aware that the color COULD become production or Limited Production. Their versions still would be special but I expect the value would drop significantly.

I’m always amazed by how high the ebay pieces go for sometimes :s But geez, these are nuts.
It seems all test paints lose most, if not all, of their value if that color becomes a production or limited run. At least in my experience of what I’ve seen selling/sold second hand.

Thankfully I’m not a fan of this coloration. It looks like the rainbow “fruit roll ups” from my childhood lol.

Hm, Ottowa is a bit under 2 hours from me per Google maps. Probably less, knowing how I drive. If all else fails, let me know if you need me to pick it up. The shipping might be the tough part, depending on how big it is and how much padding it needs.

I would be extremely grateful if you were able to pick it up! I honestly wouldn’t mind whatever the shipping cost would be… even if it’s a steep price, it would be cheaper that if I were to purchase the statue mint in box (unless the shipping were to cost several hundred dollars… but even then that would be a savings LOL).

From what I am able to find, if the statue had the box, the dimensions would be about 21x19x 28 inches. But as there is no box, the statue is said to be 14″ tall. Not sure on the size of the base. About 15 pounds. There are small/thin parts so I think those would need to be heavily padded.
It comes with a COA. Seller has it pictured in a frame, but not sure if the frame is included (doesn’t say in the listing).

Please let me know if you’d be willing to pick it up. Thank you!

Hey, Kujacker, how’ve you been? Have a little Stone Critters ferret that reminds me of your love for them when I see it.

I don’t know from personal experience, but I’ve heard of UPS Store franchises doing what you want. Sure it would be pricey, but looking for one near the seller’s ZIP might be an option. Sorry never been to Illinois myself.

I’ve been alright, trying to be more positive. I pretty much only work now, but that’s okay hah. I don’t want to jump the gun, but things are looking up for the near future. If everything pans out, I will be moving out of state back to my home state. Very excited for that, as I never thought it would be possible.
Ahh I don’t have that ferret figure! Might have to look into it. I AM getting my third ferret tattoo in June though 😀

I’ve heard that the UPS service isn’t all that great… as in they don’t secure the items as well as they should. I know from my single personal experience of purchasing a Michael Whelan dragon (over a decade ago), the seller had UPS pack him and he arrived detached from his base.

Holy heck. That’s a huge group. I would also join, but none of the available sculpts I am interested in receiving. Also curious if the store can supply this many pyos!
I do always lurk the show off threads, so I’ll be checking in to see what this group paints.
