I have a gmail, yahoo, and hotmail/msft email address – I like gmail best personally, but I’m not sure I could quantify why. 🙂

    Update!

I am planning to start a quest some time on 4/15 if all goes well. Stay tuned!

in reply to: Spring PYO swap sign-up – LAST CALL, #927651

I am also out – I usually love doing the swaps (even if I’m often a bit slow!) but with the baby and some health things and school and work, I just can’t pile any more on my plate this spring/summer. I should be able to do the next one though! 🙂

What about a virtual tour sometime? Totally not the same thing, but I could probably get John to do a walk through while we Livestreamed or something. 🙂 More people could attend that way too.

Then if forum members wanted to do a meet up or events on even a more regional level they could.

Another thing to keep in mind if you are talking September – Corvallis is a college town so September is back to school and possibly Home Coming which could make hotel bookings trickier.

Not impossible, but make sure you check your dates.

If you’ve been to the factory, you know it’s not set up to handle super large groups so tours might need to be in small groups or something. 🙂

Again, definitely recommend reaching out to Bipolar Bear. 🙂

Bipolar Bear has been kicking around this idea for awhile – you might try reaching out to him. He could likely tell you the feasibility/logistics.

Alas, this is just too close to when the new little one will arrive for me to offer to help coordinate. 🙂

    Happy birthday! I hope it’s a fantastic one 🙂

in reply to: How's the website working for you now? 3/19/15 #927020

I don’t think it’s really any better or worse, from a customer perspective, than any other method. 🙂

When there is a preannounce, if the quantities are limited, it all depends on whose browser allows them to cart first and we risk the store going down.

When the announce goes out after something is stocked, it all depends on who sees it first, but at least the store is probably still online.

In either case, it’s really luck of the draw who manages to get to the pieces first if the quantity is really limited.

in reply to: Is Pam ok? #926853

Poor Pam. At least she gets to stay home and be comfy and hopefully get caught up on some reading and TV watching.

John-does she have a long drive to work? I’ll bet she is glad she doesn’t have to brave all that snow and icy roads for a little while O.O

There’s no snow or ice in Oregon this year. 🙂 We’ve been in spring for weeks now.

She’s just a couple of blocks from work too. 🙂

I just need a silver koi standing kirin to complete my family. Beyond that, I am fine with whatever. 😉

We’ve been having a few problems with the new server – once those are resolved, we can see if these problems fix themselves or if they require more work. Thank you to everyone for your patience as we (hopefully) finish up this migration soon!

To be fair, the people taking preview photos usually don’t know which pieces may end up going to ebay – it would be hard to cull those without just cancelling preview photos entirely.

In most cases, the ones that end up on ebay are either ones that missed the batch due to defects (it sometimes can take awhile for them to get fixed) or were just misplaced. Last time I was at the factory, we found something like 4 mini-keepers that weren’t purposely held out of the batch, they’d just somehow never made it to the cart with the others and got left behind.

Sometimes Melody even paints a few MORE after a batch finishes and just labels them ‘grab bag’ because they aren’t unique enough for a test paint, but not enough for a restock.

In a batch like the foxes, just because one on ebay looks close to the one in a class photo does NOT mean it was the same one – there are often a lot of very similar pieces that were painted for a grab bag (at one point there was a whole box of red panda fennecs that didn’t quite make quality standards kicking around on a shelf). Just because the one that was in the class photo doesn’t show up on the forum, doesn’t mean it wasn’t in the batch.

I don’t know to be honest – I lost my Photoshop guru for the time being to her duck stamp tour, so I either need to find time to do it myself (takes me longer) or find a new volunteer. 🙂

in reply to: Post your nightstand! #925105

I don’t have a nightstand! 🙂 The only upstairs Windstones are a couple of cheap hatching dinos my youngest has in his room (my older son has stolen a shelf in one of my downstairs cabinets lol).

Given the upcoming baby, I think we’ll stick to the policy of having Windstones behind glass doors or in my office 🙂

I’ll ask Susie about it 🙂
