Melody and I found 4 test paint cats all sitting together on a cart – it seemed like fate! LOL
Personally I don’t love front load machines, I have worked in hotels and laundry mats and know the havoc they can cause if some tiny thing gets shut in the door. But I do love the no agitator, if I was to go look for new machines I would get a top load no agitator HE washer, best of both worlds and no door to have to make sure locks.
I wonder if model has anything to do with it? Mine won’t even start if ANYTHING is caught in the door/door seal. It just sits and yells at me “BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!!!!”
I replaced my old Whirlpool agitators with a front loading set of LG. I LOVE THEM!
I do A LOT of laundry (three boys from 14 to 6 and myself and my husband plus we have dogs). I can load 2x more stuff, and it washes at least 50% faster. I have not had a problem with things getting cleaned and they use way less water. Plus my loads don’t go off center and I don’t have to constantly move clothes around when washing towels and jeans.
I will say you can’t let laundry sit. If you do, it sours really fast. I have an appointed laundry day so nothing ever really “sits” but if you forget something overnight, you’ll have to wash it again.
Also, you have to leave the washer door open or the washer itself will sour. Since I have a laundry room, this is fine – I’m the only one who goes in the room and I know the door will be open so I don’t run into it, but if you had your laundry in a bathroom or something, it could be a pain.
So, to my mind:
Pros of front loader:
– Easier to load/unload (no lifting heavy heaps of wet laundry)
– Faster
– More energy and water efficient
– Holds more stuffCons:
– Can’t let laundry sit
– Has to have washer door left open
– Have to load from a kneeling positionI’ll try to get some photos up tonight! They won’t be awesome, but at least you guys can see what’s what. 🙂
. . . Next batch of curlies is painted in “Elven”
Any idea when these curlies might appear in the store?
It looks like these were mostly painted (as of 12/30), but only about half eyed. So it shouldn’t be too long.
Any news on the standing baby kirins? Can’t wait to start collecting them 😀
The horns aren’t fitting right, so Melody is working on modifying the masters so the horns will fit. Probably still a ways out. 🙂
I guess if I post them here, I can see next year if I made them!
1. Start eliminating high fructose corn syrup
2. Keep exercising at least 3x a week (been doing this for a couple months already)
3. Try to be more patient with other people and less judgmental
4. Get bills caught up/paid off and not take on any more new ones
5. No one in the family with major medical issues for just ONE year (please universe?)
6. Make my extended family follow my “no dying” rule (seven people in seven years is QUITE ENOUGH, THANK YOU)
7. Stay employedOut of curiosity, after the issue of depression came up, I asked my husband about it since he has depression and I don’t.
He said he thinks in the case of depression it’s partially a choice and partially out of your hands. He partially chooses by remembering to take his medications, trying to avoid situations that get him down, and when depression is telling him things that he knows on some level aren’t true – he tries to remind himself depression lies and it’s not really as bad as it feels.
But to some degree, he’s just a passenger on the train and the chemicals in his brain are at the wheel.
I think we both struggle with this situation at times. I’m very much the “life knocked me down, I’ve moped, now it’s time to dust myself off and get on with it” type. Sometimes he can’t do that which frustrates me. I’m sure it frustrates and upsets him sometimes that I get mad when he CAN’T do something (versus won’t).
Depression sucks.
I always tell my kids the only thing you can control in life is how you react in a situation. You can’t keep bad things from happening or always have what you want, but you can always decide how to respond to it.
It can be very hard to choose happiness and kindness (heaven only knows I don’t even manage it half the time!), but I think I agree with your mom.
Ooh…loved the elven color. Dare I squeak for a fledgie too?
I’ll *squeak* for that too! 🙂
I’ll keep thinking about the king fisher color… maybe it needs to “steep” awhile in my brain, like tea does in hot water.
We tried to get the Bengal and Snow tadpoads into the store before Christmas, but with key people out sick, we just got behind on everything.
( I think the Bengal tadpoads are absolutely adorable)
Next batch of curlies is painted in “Elven” – it is a pearly silver and green color combination that has grown on me since the raffle prize: “Elven” the O. Warrior dragon, was painted.Elven curlies?!?!?! *squee*
No new question tonight – sorry guys, I’ll do two tomorrow. I’m sick AND super swamped getting ready for Christmas (it’s this Wednesday?!?! How did that happen?!?!)
Also, to our winners, I apologize prize selection is so slow! They had some sicknesses at the factory combined with some last minute wholesale orders that put them behind.
Weather and health willing, I’m going down to visit on 12/30 so if nothing has been picked prior, I’ll dig some things up when I’m there and post photos. 🙂
Very lovely!
I love the Tattoo scheme so much! <3 <3 <3 I also spy something else I am very excited to see on ebay soon ^_^
So do I!
Me too!!! I hope they are on soon! *squee*
December 13, 2013 at 4:59 pm in reply to: Cute Little Cow Story and How She Saved Her Own Life #906488I realize now that especially when reading a written post, people will generally take the way it was worded to mean whatever kind of mood they are feeling at the time and I find a lot of times that people who react negatively are thinking in a negative or closed minded way so that they misinterpret what was said.
There are ways, as Jennifer demonstrated, to make the same points you were attempting without triggering a negative response. There are certain words and tones in writing you should avoid if you don’t want to offend people. While of course some interpretation depends on the audience, much of it also depends on the author’s presentation.
…there is such a thing as truth versus fiction and unfortunately most people still believe things about their health, the food and medical industries that are simply fiction and they don’t realize it.
Or, we have done our own research and come to our own conclusions that differ from yours. Fact versus fiction is a very tricky thing to demonstrate in this area. For every resource you can find listing the benefits of veganism and touting the evil of meat and dairy, there are others showing their benefits. The research is NOT conclusive. We all have to reach our own decisions about what is right for us. How you eat is up to you and depends on a wide variety of factors.
For example – My husband has a disease that prevents him from eating many vegetables. If he does, it can trigger a flare up of his disease that can hospitalize him. The last time he had a flare, he had to take a combination of drugs to get it under control that deteriorated his health to the point that we’re just beginning to recover from it. He has very low calcium and needs to consume a lot of dairy in addition to taking supplements.
We’ve investigated and tried natural remedies and in his case, they DO. NOT. WORK. And frequently make things FAR worse.
Even if I did agree with you regarding the long-term effects of meat/dairy (which I don’t at all), the immediate effect of high vegetation intake on his health would not be worth it and would likely prevent him from getting old enough to worry about how meat and dairy might impact him.
You Jennifer are obviously very knowledgeable in your own right but it is quite clear who is not because closed minded people don’t want to learn or know the truth unfortunately.
Again, “truth” in this case has yet to be proven, conclusively, one way or the other. There is no “right” or “wrong” – there are varying approaches that work for different people in different situations. You have found the one that works for you, fantastic! I’m happy for you! However, calling people “close-minded”, “uneducated”, and a variety of other, very insulting, terms because we do not agree with you is quite incendiary.
There are a myriad of subjects that people are very polarized about – food sourcing and diet being one of them. While there may not be a “right” or a “wrong” choice for an individual, there is definitely a “right” and a “wrong” approach to how to voice your opinion on these subjects if you don’t want to deliberately offend people.
Oh! How lovely! Definitely one of my favorites! 🙂
Mine should finally be here tomorrow! Yay!
