Bump, see first post for update.
Oops? XD Hahaha. I should take a picture of them.
I would love to see them. 🙂
There’s too many to take individual pictures, so I tried to divide them into ‘groups’. I couldn’t shrink the pictures for the forum without making it impossible to tell what was on them, so here’s a link to the album :
http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l128/limerance/shitajiki/If there are any you want to see close-up, let me know. =) The regular boards are about 7×10, the mini boards are a little smaller than a DVD case (since they almost all came as a freebie with a DVD). The clear plate sets are somewhere in between. I think I missed a few, though…I double some of them up in their plastic bags, and forgot to turn them over. e.e; I know there’s some CLAMP ones I have that aren’t in those pictures…hmm. I’ve also got doubles (sometimes triples) of some boards (mostly the CCS ones, and some of the mini boards)…because I often forget what I already have. >.>; Some of these were gifts, and are not necessarily from series I like, but felt obligated to keep. 6.6; I usually buy based on the art on a board – even if it’s from a series/artist I know nothing about, if the art is good, I’ll buy it. Sometimes I’ll love a series, but hate all the boards…which sucks. XD Oh well.
Anyhoo, if you are ever looking to buy shitajiki, I’d recommend shopping here : http://www.shitajiki.biz
David is a real nice guy, although I think he’s pretty busy with the aftermath of the tsunami at the moment. I emailed him a few days ago and haven’t heard a peep yet…and he hasn’t added new boards since February. However, I’d say that his prices are some of the best you’ll find, even with shipping from Japan. So if you see a board on ebay that you like, be sure to compare with him first – there are some sellers on ebay that will happily take you for a ride, claiming their boards are ‘rare’, ‘out of print’, or ‘hard to find’. It’s usually not true. 9_9 Some of them also sell rip-offs, or HK (Hong Kong/Chinese) boards. These are considered worthless by most shitajiki collectors. You can’t really tell from a picture that they’re unofficial (that is, the people printing them did not pay any sort of licensing fee to the copyright owners of the art, much less get permission); it takes some research or actually buying it to find out (the plastic is usually thinner, and the image quality just not quite as good). I ended up with a few of those when I was a newbie at this game. XD I once even ended up with a picture someone had printed out and then laminated. o_o;
Good Grief – am I the only person who finds that piece extremely NOT attractive? I usually like the tigers, too.
No. I am with you on that. However, I have pretty much detested all of the tigers. I think they are quite beastly. It does make me want to try painting a ‘tiger’ PYO dragon to see if I could make one that *I* would like, though.
Say wha? >.>; @ $1400
He surpassed my most expensive Windstone already too (the Spring Green Riser). None of the ‘tiger’ ebay’d items have done a thing for me, but given the prices they go for, it’s obvious why Melody keeps painting them…
Shitajiki (pencilboards). o_o; They’re sheets of plastic with anime/manga art on them. I don’t know why, but I love them. 😀 That is all I really consider a ‘collection’ besides my Windstones. I do have a lot of books and movies, but only because I like to re-read and re-watch them repeatedly. They aren’t something I worry about being in ‘mint’ condition, or any of that nonsense. e.e Just my shitajiki~ <3
ooOOooh!! O.O I did not need to read this! I do not need to start collecting anything else. XD

Pre-cut cards are in the same aisle as pads of paper at our Hobby Lobby, dunno about Michaels? But I like to cut my own, so I can tape it down if I want.
Hmm. e.e Kirins were the only thing I liked Serpentine on.
I’ll do it. =D
I’d do it too. =D But maybe we should have participants submit uh…what do you call it…progress reports? So that people are more motivated to get it done, and get it done on time. =) And maybe keep it to one card at a time (or a set number for all, at any rate), so we can do it more like the PYO swap; each person mails their card( s ) to a randomly chosen participant (who has also proven they finished) after showing their completed card to you at the end. You don’t have to pay postage to all of us in that case, too. That seems to work out pretty well for the PYO swap?
I saw someone say 28, but idk if that’s true. I considered buying one (even put it in the cart), but decided against it. I’m more interested in a sure thing than a shot in the dark. >.>;
Why would anyone say something nasty to someone for painting a PYO for a charitable cause? o_o;
I like his brown-eyed side? XD *pats* I’m sorry you were disappointed.
Curled: Toasted Pearl
Coiled: White
Coiled Mother: Emerald
Hatching Dragon: uh, I don’t like this one either. The only one I own is an orange-eyed Emerald, so that, I guess. XD
Hatching Empress:Rainbow
Hatching Emperor: Emerald
Hatching Kinglet: Silver
Fledgling: Ruby
Young: Copper Patina
Mother: Red Fire
Male: old Brown
Lap: Brown
Scratching: my faded Red Fire XD
Oriental: Light Peacock
Sun Dragon: Ruby
Spectral: don’t care for the sitter, but I guess he’d be okay in uh…white
Rising Spectral: Red Fire, since we’re sticking with production/LP >.>
Old Warrior: Emerald or Red Fire (I can’t decide)
Emperor: Emerald w/orange eyes! haha
Secret Keeper: GoldHmm. e.e I love the blue on that Poad, but I wish the pattern was more…intense. I liked the lace patterns from back in the day (evidence : I bought a lot of them). I want some blue lace Poads. D: Or red. I don’t have any Poads with those colors playing a dominant role. =(
