Anywho! I’ve gotten ideas, I just need to locate my paint brushes ^-^ a trip to storage when I’m not trying to hack up a lung should cure that, only so many boxes for them to be hiding in, lol!

****** UPDATE 8/3/15: Just so everyone knows – I’m finalizing the ACEO Swap Sign Ups thread and will hopefully post it tomorrow. I had to finalize some work stuff at the end of last week & had other commitments over the weekend.
So excited to start this! 🙂

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support! I’ve been reading them all, but have been doing so from my phone (where I’m writing this from).. I will properly respond to each soon, I’ve just found it harder than I thought to talk about…

I’m moving my stuff out tomorrow (today), I’m going to have such a hard time with that… 2.5years of /our/ life needs to be split between who owns what 🙁 and it makes it so much more final…

So yeah, I am reading, and it all helps! I’m just needing some time…

I’m thinkin the disappointment level will stay lower if there is two batches, I’ve been there where I wanted one style, got an entirely different style and couldn’t trade for what I wanted…

Also, paying the price of a fancy and gettin a basic seems a bit unfair, given you price for how much time it takes and general value is based on the detail level…

I think two batches, but remain one per customer at least for the first day… otherwise everyone is going to want two batches so they can get two instead of one…
But if someone wants a high detail and ends up with a basic one, they’re going to have a hard time trading, trust me, been here, done this many a time… I think the option to get which one you like is a much better idea, and I think there should be a price break for those that aren’t detailed out

Otherwise, I think they look great, I was planning on sitting out this batch, but if I get a chance at one, I’d love a high detail one, they look fantastic! 🙂

UPDATE 7/19/15: I heard from Bodine, and she asked if I could Host this ACEO Swap. Let me get some thoughts together and maybe we can do this – sounds like there is enough interest. Perhaps a time frame where a ship date happens in late/end of September before the Fall PYO Swap is in full swing?

What does everyone think? I already have started a Make-A-Fuzzy Swap, and I wouldn’t want to have too many swaps and activities going on at once. It’s also okay to let me know if this might be better to do after the Holiday rush. 🙂

1. Perhaps do within a time frame where a ship date happens in late/end of September before the Fall PYO Swap is in full swing? I already have started a Make-A-Fuzzy Swap, and I wouldn’t want to have too many swaps and activities going on at once.

2. If it’s perhaps too much to have both the Make-A-Fuzzy Swap, an ACEO Swap and the upcoming PYO Swaps happening so close together, might be better to do this ACEO Swap after the Holiday rush? Like for a January-February-March time frame?

I was also thinking of perhaps having a minimum of three ACEO’s per person to do, since they are small (2-1/2 x 3-1/2 size), having them sent to me to sort and send out. I thought it would be fair to shuffle/sort them into even numbers per person who signs up. Thoughts or alternate suggestions?

Don’t be shy on input – I’ve not done an ACEO Swap before… 🙂

I’m also not doing the fuzzy swap and likely not the PYO swap, so time isn’t an issue for me… plus I do ACEO’s pretty quickly 🙂

I would really love to do multiples, and would love to get several from different artists back, so I think there should be some way to sign up for 1-5 or something like that, but it does make sense to me for organization to get everyone to send out equal numbers (then you know each envelope gets X amount)

I think everyone should put their forum name (or real name may work too) on the back of the ACEO’s, just so when you’re mixing them up, you can keep tabs that no one is getting their own ACEO back, lol…

I’ll brain-storm on it more and let you know if I come up with anymore ideas… I think this sounds super fun, but I know there is no way I could host such a thing, as life has it’s moments of absolute chaos around here right now, lol…

I agree with you Kaytana and others about black panthers. Thanks for posting your thoughts. I also wasn’t specifying a particular black cat but more referring to a blanket term for black wild cats. Based on what I read:

“Black panther, a big cat (of any species, but most commonly a jaguar or a leopard) whose coloration is entirely black. This may have originated from the Latin name Panthera for the big cats and was probably shortened from Black Panthera to Black Panther.”

I just posted the follow up because of a message I got about correcting my post because I was told Black Panthers are a revolutionary nationalist and socialist organization and that I shouldn’t ruffle any feathers on here by using that term. Good to know I didn’t offend anyone because I sure wasn’t aware of that and assume most others on here wouldn’t take something like that the wrong way when we are clearly taking about wild cats here. Anyway I also love the colourful tanukis!

Anywho, I do really wish the phrase “Politically Incorrect” would go away… This world is physically incapable of molding to the ideal of every single person, we are though, perfectly capable of accepting that not everyone see’s things exactly like we do, and should be happy that everything is so diverse, because if it wasn’t, it would be so-very-boring! Instead, people get offended… by *everything* and throw that dumb phrase around to justify it… (It’s a big issue in the USA, where we often can’t fly our own nations flag in fear we’re going to offend someone – not even joking, people get yelled at and told they can’t do it from housing associations to schools… while often not caring at all if other nationalities fly their own flags…)

I’m just going to point these small things out… which sort of shines a light on how awesome context is. (Kim, this is not aimed at you, just all in reference to the situation of someone correcting you)

“Jaguar” is also an auto mobile manufacturer.
“Jaguar” could just as easily be in reference to a football team…

“Cougar” could refer to an older women who goes out looking for significantly younger men..
which leads me to “Puma” … which is a shoe company…
“Mountain Lion”? let’s not get started on how many High School teams use this in one form or fashion…

with the context of our entire conversation.. not once has someone assumed we’re asking Melody to paint Old Ladies wearing sneakers in Teal and “Ultimate Black Metallic” auto paint…
After all, I’d much rather see Melody paint the cougars younger man (who prefers to wear Nike when he goes to his old High Schools games to support the awesome Mountain Lions!) in “Laser Blue” and “Inferno Orange” – because I’m a Chevy lovin’ Bronco’s fan, who has an appreciation for (mid-20’s) athletes…

-and if that mental image didn’t make you laugh or at least smirk… then lighten up a lil, life is too short to be so serious!

Also… we’ve been talking about cats… I really do think everyone has been on that page this whole time..

So, when I say ‘Black Panther’ I mean /any/ of the following: Black Jaguar OR Black Leopard. Which when painted on a Windstone Cougar, isn’t likely to be a massive difference, although I am extremely well aware of the rosette differences… I doubt Mel is going to toss THAT much thought into how the spots are painted…

By all technicality, I could also be referring to black Lions and black Tigers as well, as they could also be called “Panthers” by the subspecies “Panthera”

… in case anyone was curious why I felt saying ‘Black Panther’ is perfectly acceptable when generalizing for this particular purpose, otherwise, I’m very good at defining which exact cat I’m talking about.

Isn’t that the best way to describe a large black cat of the panther type? Several large cats are ‘panthers’ so to generalize, instead of saying ‘black leopard, and black jaguar, black tigers and whatever else can be black’ it seems smart to say ‘black panther’ … *shrugs*

Would be cool if the black cougars are ‘moonlit’ otherwise if they’re just solid flat black I fear it would be nothing more than a black blob in my collection… a moonlit affect would enhance the details amazingly, I think

If they’re like the Jet Black colour scheme, they’ll be fairly glossy, which I like the idea of 🙂 High gloss on solid colours still brings out details.

They are satin finish. Yeah, I could try moonlit ones! That might look nice.

If that works out and goes production, I will be all over that! I love my moonlit sea jewel! 🙂

Also, an ides for a gb or ebay black panther, doing flat black base and metallic black rosettes, to make it look more true to color for black panthers 🙂 I realize hou don’t wanna do this on a production run (hence my deep desire for a moonlit) but would look epic 🙂

I have been wanting a CP V2 Male Griff for ages! I’ve been kicking myself for not getting one when they first released.. I love the texture of more antique! I’d love to see the V2 used on more sculpts as well.

I think CP should not be ignored just because there isn’t flawed sculpts… Melody once said she isn’t sure how many more will be made because they’re getting better w the casting. This is one of my fave colors (and a hit w so many collectors) and I believe it should be painted, regardless…
