— Ghostndragon, I’m so happy you like him 🙂 I was about halfway done when the thought hit my mind that I really hope you like blue! haha, I also got quite the giggle that I painted a natural pattern (Blue Jay on a Keeper) and I got a natural pattern in the swap 😀
I absolutely am (and I feel like a heel for not remembering to post the pics). I like how every detail fits the scheme, down to the white patches and black patterns on the backs of the wings.
I got mine today! Thank you, Kaytana! I’ve actually got some pictures, but I need to upload them–that’ll have to be after dinner. He’s a very cool Blue Jay Keeper.
Hehe. Forgot to upload the pics after dinner. Soooo…it’ll have to wait till after book (wine) club this evening. Sorry guys. I didn’t mean to leave you in suspense. In other news, my recipient’s piece is out for delivery (squeeeeee!)

As for the soap…. even if there are soaps that are SLS free on the government approved list – it’s a pain in the butt for my work to change it. Not to mention, a-hole boss is an a-hole. He wouldn’t change it just because he likes having miserable employees.
I can try making the changes at home though – it might make this more bearable.
A-hole boss is increasing the risk of you contaminating foods because damaged skin sheds more bacteria than healthy skin. Plus, it’s a health and safety problem for the workers. I don’t know what kind of laws you might have regarding worker health and safety, or if you can get a note from a doctor, but being an a-hole is different from causing physical harm.
You know, you’d think that the term “tracking” would mean something other than “letting you know that the package left its origination.” I shipped on Monday, and the most recent information on the package is that it left Minneapolis on Monday. Did they put it on a camel and just point it in the right general direction? I don’t know about you, but I find it disturbing that the package hasn’t been tracked for 2.5 days. Or maybe I’m just being impatient and paranoid. 😛 I dislike UPS. At least when I can’t track a USPS package, it’s because it arrived before it had time to be tracked (for less!).
Thy’re red, and that type of pain that’s either itchy or so painful I want to cry. Nothing helps, it’s not dry skin (hand cream just makes it worse, even when I left it on overnight to see if it wasn’t just my hand freaking out because I put something on it).
It’s frustrating because I kinda need my hands. To, you know…. do stuff. Like work.
Have you ever looked into SLS, or sodium laureth sulfate, and what it does to our skin? It is present in nearly all commercial soaps, hand cremes, and body products… even the kinds that are “healing”. In effect, putting lotions on can actually make you need them more. There are other ingredients often found in our soaps and body care products that are very irritable to some people’s skin, including alcholo and derivitives, Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), and Ammonium Laurel Sulfate (ALS). I experienced the same problems as you and when researching what could be the cause, I came across research on SLS. It’s in nearly all skin care products. I’ve since switched to really really basic soaps with basic/easy to understand ingredients, and straight up shea butter to use as lotion, and my hands are finally healing.
It took me several weeks to heal, so you may not see results overnight. Read labels carefully on anything you put on your skin.SLS might also have been part of my problem when it happened to me. After I stopped using liquid soaps for a while, I found that I wasn’t sensitive to it anymore and could use liquid soaps again. However, a couple of years ago, my mouth got sensitive to the toothpaste I was using. I had to switch to a more organic toothpaste for a while (same deal–the SLS) and now I can use regular toothpaste again. I also try to avoid shampoos that over-lather–they tend to overdose on SLS, SDS, or ALS to give them more lather, but they also make my head itchier than hell.
WAAAAAANT!
Finally finished my Foo 🙂
She is very hard to photograph! Her colour is much more golden in person. Basically she is tan with brindle textured fur and lots of gold and bronze details. Her eyes are light yellow with blue chain crystals and bronzy-gold tassels dipped in blue. She’s been done with both a mixture of airbrush and brushwork 😀
That dragon is aMAZing, Branzy! Congrats, FlamingDragon!
March 19, 2013 at 10:31 pm in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #894858Is it within etsy’s rules to sell windstones at all on thier site? If you search it multiple pieces come up as well as someones own scultpures of a foodog and a “peacock gryphon sculpture” and kirin etc.
So I am not sure, but
um here are some links:http://www.etsy.com/search?q=windstone&view_type=gallery&ship_to=US

i don know I only posted some, but the first is the search on windstone, the next three are sculptures that seem to infinge on windstone, the last is one of the peices for sale on etsy.
That same etsy artist has a foo dog that has features (tail, mane, face) that look strikingly like Melody’s mother foo.

My little whine (really little compared to some whines on here) – my hands feel like they are burned, they look like they are burned, but I haven’t burned them!

Are you using latex gloves and/or liquid hand soap? If latex gloves, switch to nitrile. If using liquid hand soap, try switching to a solid soap. I had something similar happen to my hands and switching to a solid soap for a while made it go away. I can now use liquid soap, again, but I avoid anything with triclosan in it. In fact, this happened when I was in grad school in the lab alot. I made them get solid soap for me and switch their liquid to the cheap stuff without triclosan.
Sent! I was sad to see it go, but I hope my swapee is happy with it!
YAYAYAYAYAYYYYY! Congrats!!
An easy one, but timely (and appropriate in my line of work this year):
“Beware the Ides of March.”I’m so excited for this swap. Mine needs just a few touch ups, a final coat of sealer, and eyes (and a picture sent to DM–better get on that, eh?). This is my best yet, and I’m sad to see it go, but I’m excited to see how my swapee likes it.
I’ve got a vampire egg that I turned because of a horrible lineage. If anyone wants it, let me know. Otherwise, it’s going to the AP.
