Have you ever seen the TV show called Beast Legends? I ran across it while channel surfing and thought it might be something you (and everyone else on the forum) might be interested in. It is about searching for the inspiration behind mythical beasties and the show I caught was about griffins. It actually talks about anatomy/history/plausibility of the critter and is hosted by a team of zoologists and biologists and assisted by a graphic artist and a CGI animator to make the critter come to life.

Happy First snowfall!!!Alright, so Halloween is just under a week away and if I remember correctly, most of us have fun dressing up, decorating the yard etc. I had started a thread in Arts, http://www.windstoneeditions.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=14310 for Pumpkins, cause no matter how simple or elborate they are all Art (and it takes some skill to wield that knife 😀 ) but there is so much more to Halloween than Pumpkins… So here is a thread to celebrate this crazy holiday!
Show off your costumes, Pics of the yard, Tell us your plans, Gloat about how much candy you’ve eaten… It’s all in good fun!

I completely understand the ‘broke’ thing 🙁 and for years have done handmade/painted ornaments for friends as Christmas giftsOoo he is lovely! 🙂
I use a Satin clear coat on most of my stuffs. It doesn’t kill the pearly (that I’ve experienced) or glittery bits but it’s not as shiny as a glossMore….
The second one for my brother and the white cut away part actually glows, the camera hates it and won’t pick it up for photos

I haven’t carved a pumpkin in years but I was thinking about trying out the whole shaving-off-the-skin technique to add different layers of luminescence (or I guess I could call it “shading”). Have you ever done pumpkins like this? I’m a little nervous to try but I’ve watched a couple of videos on it and I think I’m ready to destroy a gourd 😀
I have and its lots of fun (more mess 😀 ) I find that the trick in doing that is knowing how thick your pumpkins skin is, and the thicker the better if you want to do lots of layered shavings. And have a lit candle nearby so you can check your progress:)

Well it’s October and Halloween is swiftly approaching which means PUMPKIN CARVING!!! 😀
Uusall we grow our own, but between the crappy weather and the squirrels 😡 we got none this year. so I won’t get to do any real pumpkins unless I buy one. However, have been doing a few of those foam craft PumpkinsBrother’s condo unit is finally done so he wants Pumpkins for his place

Tried something different here and gave kitty a ‘stained glass’ eye. Sort of worked
I’ve got more that I need to do pics for and will post when I get them done.

I would say what ever you do, do not back her up on this. It would mean it could end badly for you (since you would have been the person who ‘lied’ and she could always claime she never told you too. She sounds like she would do something like that). This is her screw up, let her deal with it. I think that the county is probably going after her for the whole not waiting for a permit and are just tacking on the 26% thing as a bonus. I’ve never heard of them nitpicking over 1% (which adds up to what a few extra feet?) of space. Legally, I don’t think they can do anything to you as long as you are a renter (they can’t in Calgary if you are renting an ‘illegal’ secondary suite, you just loose your home, it’s the landlord who gets the fines). They can however if you are a ‘part owner’ which is what it sounds like she wants you to say.
I would advise (and I know this is the absolute last thing you want to think about) that you start looking for another place and don’t tell her.
