Sadly whatever happens there will always be someone who is unhappy
Personally I like the idea of not showing the class photo. At least not right away, maybe wait a week or two and then post. Give people a chance to appreciate the unicorn they *did* get rather than lamenting that they didn’t get *The One* To me this is what grab bag is. You know you will be getting a baby unicorn it’s the color and pattern that are a surprise. After all, when you get a grab bag of goodies at a bazzaar or fair, you never know what might be in it either and that’s part of the fun!
WE ALL need to remind ourselves that the fact that Miss Melody *does* do these for us is amazing and wonderful of her and be grateful that she does listen to us rabid fans and tries to do something nice for us!
I was so looking forward to a ‘real’ garden dragon… 🙁 She would have looked lovely resting amongst my flowers.
I voted for smooth finish in production colors (sorry Melody), mostly because I *know* I would never be able to finish a PYO her size XD
Well to add in my 2 cents from a costumers perspective…
Without a shot of the back crown of the hat it’s nearly impossible to tell exactly what kind of hat it is. Many hat brims can produce that look. The top candidates would be a Fedora, Bowler, Pork Pie or Felt Boater. While traditionally Fedoras and Bowlers have rolled brims, there are some that have flat brims. All of these hats do come with a wide variety of brim widths too. You are probably looking for something with a low or flat crown as well. Also don’t limit yourself to strictly ‘male’ hats sometimes the girls version may have just what you are looking for! 🙂 You could also look at buying a felt ‘blank’. They generally have a rounded crown, like a bowler, but the brim is unfinished so you could do what you like with it.As for attaching, as Wampus said, sewing little ribbon loops to the inside band and using bobby pins to attach works well (remember to cross your pins) Though this tends to work best for longer hair. I prefer to use wig clips http://www.ebay.ca/itm/25-Beige-Snap-Clip-Hair-Extension-Wig-1-29×0-74-/400240573153?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d30327ae1#ht_3368wt_1140. These are sort of a snap closed comb that gets sewn onto the hat band and then clips into your hair. It works much better than bobby pins in short hair. They come in a variety of sizes and colors too.
I vaguely remember the last strike (1998 according to dragonmedly) so really 13 years isn’t bad. We’ve had more teacher and other union strikes here than postal strikes. (AirCanada is on strike too…) I stopped even thinking about buying online when I heard there was the possibility but some important paperwork, the time sensitive stuff, was sent to me and is now stuck in the system somewhere… :~
Even with the strike (the posties have a couple of good complaints health and safety wise) I would rather go Canada Post because they are sooooo much cheaper. The last item I sent was either $45 via Canada Post or $100ish via any of the courier services and it would only take 2 days longer to get there.
I keep oogling your shop. I will get some body butter (I really like the idea that they are not greasy) eventually when funds free up but I have a problem…. I can’t decide on scents! :p
Was wondering…
Have you ever considered doing Bath Salts or Body Mist? I’m not a huge perfume fan (to overpowering) but use body mists. I also love a long hot bath with scented bath salts after a long day at work or whenever. I find that the bath salts available here smell great but tend to leave a ‘plasticy’ smell/taste after a sniff. :~Am having to look at changeing carreers… again :~
I made an appointment with a Government agency to talk to them and see if any sort of funding was available. So show up, argue with the receptionist (who was playing a card game on her computer and tried to inform me that I didn’t have an appointment… all at 8:30am just after they opened for the day |( ) Was told that there was funding available but they couldn’t give me any specifics unless I knew what program and institution as was going to. So I presented my two choices and they still can’t give me any information. What they want me to do is go to the institution, go through all the applications and evaluations and be accepted into a program. THEN come back to them and they would put my name on a list to be CONSIDERED for possible funding, that could take 3 months (or more) to process… at which point I would probably already be in class.
WTF!?!
What happens if they don’t approve funding? and I’m already on the hook for these classes and any withdrawal fee? I sure as *censored* can’t afford the cost of the programs on my own, which is why I was there talking to them in the first place. All I wanted was a ‘No, no funding available or Yes, we could conceivably fund you for $XXX” and give me a low ballpark range so I can plan and know if it is feasible to go back to school now or I have to wait and save up a bit before I can. 😐
Apparently planning and being responsible is too hard for them to deal with! |(
I would love to see a Blue Roan or a Blue Dapple Roan, I don’t think those have been done yet.
These are unicorns… What about a selection of fanatsy colored ones? Kinda like My Little Pony or even some of the barbie horses came in pinks and purples…. 😀
June 1, 2011 at 10:17 pm in reply to: Potential good deal for pick up in the Malahat region of British Colombia #846989Thanks LIH! My only issue with his ad is this line: “If you know about Windstone, you will appreciate the White Mother alone was around $365 new”
In what universe? XD
I emailed him anyway, to see if he would sell me one thing and ship it. I dont have my hopes up XD
Actually based on the exchange rate and retail mark up at the time of the White mothers release and the taxes for BC… $365 CDN would be about accurate.
I know I paid just under $500.00 for my Peacock Emp 15 years ago. 🙂
Dear work:
STOP CHANGING MY HOURS!!!!!!!! And maybe next time TELL ME IN ADVANCE when shift hours change so I’m not freaking when no one else shows up! *headdesk*
That is all. Thank you.
*hugs*
Awesome! Loved Matrix too 😉
Love  the eyes they really make the piece! No Guilt!! 8) You have taken care of everything you need to as a responsible adult and are entitled to something fun for yourself!
Totally hear you on the family not understanding (You paid how much for a chunk of painted plaster!?!). Mum was convinced that I would either outgrow or she could talk me out of my collection (she still tries to this day) but 15 years on I still love, collect and oogle them.
I know shipping is a pain but on the bright side at least the exchange rate is working in our favor!!! 😉
That Poor Dog! A situation like that left alone is asking for a terrible end. I would do the same and call the non-emergency police line ans well as animal control until I got a response. Does you SPCA have investigators (here they do) I would also be calling the SPCA as well since they might be able to do something.
I sympathize with you about the kids. The last childcare venue I worked (and my last.) I had a lot of kids like that. I can sympathize with you about being called censored names by a 6 year old (was floored that he knew those words!). I feel sorry for the kids (and by extension society) since they seem doomed to perpetuate the stereotype (stereotypes all come from somewhere)
If you can, get some sort of surveillance to protect your yard and house. Maybe see if you can arrange to pick up any packages in the future directly from the depot? On another note…. I really hope that ladder is a proper escape ladder. It looks like an extension ladder bolted to the side of the building….. :O
Good Luck and *hugs*
Windstones 😛
I love the Transformers Prime cartoon. The new My Little Pony hasn’t aired (that I can find) on any of the channels I have. 🙁
Making Plushies. I’m just getting back into it after a fifteen+ year hiatus and don’t get to do it too often but I’ts always fun when I do.
Those gourmet cupcakes from the cupcake shop. Thank God they are a bit pricey!
I’ll have a look through my fabric piles…… 😉
