Well, I guess everything happens for a reason. If I get the money back from the dragon’s insurance it will cover the repair bill I just got for my oven. My evil little chinchillas got under it and chewed the wires to the ignitor (?). I got really lucky that they didn’t chew something else that could have blown the house up. So they are confined to their cages or to the room they are in until I can figure out how to protect the oven. Destructive little rodents. 👿
Really, really beautiful! Ditto on the ball – it’s great! 🙂

My local post office (and don’t get me started on it – there are a couple of nice people there but overall it is a morass of incompetency) told me I could show them a faxed copy. Which I really don’t understand – on the box is the bar code for the insurance which they scan. Shouldn’t all the information be linked to that bar code? If their machine can read it and the info is in the computer than obviously it is not forged and should be accepted as the real thing. Especially since the insurance is bought by the sender and the recepient who is going to have the problem is never going to have the receipt. They need a new system.

I don’t know why she sold it but she said it was her favorite piece. She is going to send me a copy of the insurance receipt and we will see what the post office says. Now I feel guilty that I called her a moron. Poor little dragon – he will be missed.
In addition to the above I love Melody’s dragons because they are not angry looking or spewing fire, etc. A lot of the dragons out there are, well, nasty looking for want of a better word. I grew up reading Anne McCaffrey where dragons were partners not adversaries and that’s how I view dragons. I don’t particularly like the St. George type of dragon stories so Melody’s look like how I picture dragons.

It’s so frustrating – and I feel so bad for the dragon. But at least her face wasn’t destroyed like Ski’s!
November 20, 2006 at 6:29 pm in reply to: Im curious what was your best and worst Windstone buy? #509137And my worst one just happened – got a mint peacock oriental dragon on ebay. Wrote to the seller about how to ship it and it came wrapped in bubble wrap rattling around a box so, of course, she is in many pieces. I am so, so upset. It was a beautiful dragon before the (bleep) person sent it. Now I have to go back to the Post Office but I don’t know if they will honor the insurance. I did pay with a credit card so….
What a moron! 👿I think I might go with Buckbeak – even though they fed dead ferrets to him! Gasp – I was horrified during the movie – my least favorite scene!

That was my all time favorite scenes in any of the books or movies! 😆 But the guy is soooo slimy and obnoxious I just couldn’t stick a cute little ferret with the name. Although it was a great suggestion – thanks!
I was watching that one, saw Ski was bidding and figured I had spent way too much on Windstones this month. But, wow, it went way up there. So did the white lap dragon. I don’t see those particular dragons on ebay that often.
They (whoever they are) say a dog is better than any security system. But things can be replaced – people can’t. So please be careful!
I just got a rescue ferret yesterday. He’s beautiful – about one year old and cinnamon. He is (hopefully) going to be pals with a ferret I have named Fang. Fang, by the way, is a sweetie – he was named for the boarhound in Harry Potter. He needed a new friend since his sister, Snitch, died about a month and a half ago due to an inoperable pancreatic tumor. So I need a name for the new guy and I’m coming up blank. I was thinking another Harry Potter name if anyone has any suggestions…
By the way, saw the HP: Order of the Phoenix preview before Happy Feet. It looks really good! Now if the last book would just come out!

And Nutella!
I love, love, love Nutella so I have to be strong and not buy any – need to go to the Y more to work out as it is! 😀
I am really sorry about the theft. I hope no one was hurt…I hope the rest of your trip is relaxing. I hope this doesn’t ruin the rest of the trip for you…Happy Thanksgiving! 😀
November 19, 2006 at 8:45 pm in reply to: Im curious what was your best and worst Windstone buy? #509132Thanks! I was hyperventilating refreshing the page and then the computer froze! I almost passed out. Then when I could get the computer to work the auction was over – it took me a moment to think to check my ebay. Guess it will be peanut butter and fluff sandwiches for a while…
