I agree, this piece would be so cute with little wings on it’s back.
Edit: I just had to throw in a bid on this guy, I agree that it would be a shame for him to just disappear. (Hope I didn’t step on anyones toes by bidding :))
Oh good for you!! I hope you win him.I would go for it but can’t right now.
I will squeek for “When pigs fly!”Sooo did you get it???
Unfortunately no, 🙁 it ended while I was at work and I didn’t have a chance to check on it until I got home. My max bid was about 50 below what it actually went for.
HA!
I’m in the SAME Situation! The new Watermelon Test Color Scheme is also so Cool (Pun intended!), and those are starting to be listed on eBay as well.I think I may be in trouble because there is One dragon mold I simply Adore and it might be posted on eBay soon in this test paint.
I better start saving now…. 🙂
Agreed, I don’t think I’ve seen a color scheme I love as much as those watermelons. Maybe, the nectarine – those are gorgeous as well. If you read this thread Brandi keep up the great work. 🙂 Fruit dragons! Who knew they could look so good?
Don’t worry about the small chip that you may have been able to see in the picture, it is the sellers responsibility to accurately describe what they are selling, not the buyers to go over every picture with a magnifying glass. I would send them a message stating that the description was misleading, and that your negotiations were for pieces with no damage or missing paint (they seem to have been very clear on that point). It’s perfectly reasonable to ask for a small portion of the money back. An item not being as described is grounds for opening an eBay claim, and most sellers are willing to attempt to right any wrongs in order to keep there seller rating high. I always figure it’s worth asking, because the worst they can do is say no.
Considering what they wrote, I would guess the didn’t even bother to read your complaint. Why would they ask you to explain how it was not a described if you outright stated that it was the wrong color? It could also be a lack of understanding on their part, considering the badly broken english. I would send them another message, stating again that they have sent the wrong color use the stock photo from the windstone site, and your own photo as evidence. If you are having trouble with eBay you can always use the Paypal buyer protection. I’ve never used it personally, but as I understand if you send the item back, paypal will refund your money. You may lose out on the return shipping though.
Asking for double boxing on ebay is certainly a good precaution. Personally, I have purchased pieces on ebay from several different sellers, from Emperor Dragons to Spectral dragons to Flap Cats. The only pieces that I have ever had break were two flap cats that were double boxed, but had been bubble wrapped back to back, so that they spent the entire trip chipping pieces off of each other.
Sorry about your unicorn, it sucks when any Windstone gets broken due to lack of attention to careful packaging. And the sellers always seem to act like it isn’t their fault for being careless.
Hope you can get your money back.
August 25, 2013 at 6:45 pm in reply to: Report Windstone Fakes/Knock offs/Infringment Pls read first #901792This to me looks like a very poorly executed attempt to copy the mother dragon sculpture.
(Already notified john)Correct me if I’m wrong, but is that Tie-dye coiled mother holding a cadbury mini egg? Also, so much love for those watermelon eggs. 🙂

Issue an official complaint with eBay, that should get you your money back. Maybe not all of it, but it’s a start. Go to the resolve a problem option. If you aren’t getting anywhere through eBay, go straight to Paypal and use their resolution centre. Any eBay purchase through Paypal qualifies for the buyer protection program.
I’ve bought several windstone off of eBay and never had any problem, aside from a couple of flap cats that were packaged by an incompetent moron. I was able to repair them though, and they were super cheap, so I wasn’t devastated by it.
If you are buying on ebay, I suggest checking the sellers feedback to see if they have any past experience selling windstones. There are some sellers like seige-loki who always double box, and treat the pieces very carefully.
Hope you get your money back. 🙂 And thanks for the warning, I ‘ll keep an eye out for her listings.
Yay, another Canadian. And a gamer too, that’s great. 🙂 Welcome aboard.
I’ve been aggressively expanding my Windstone collection this year, and have found that you can get some amazing deals on ebay, particularly if you are willing to go for near mint, and do any small repairs/repaints yourself.
If you find something you like in the classifieds the people on the forums are great to deal with as well.
December 21, year of the Rat, Sagittarius. My mother always said I was trying to be a Capricorn, but she wanted to be home in time for Christmas, so Sagittarius it is.
Thanks for the pics briteblades. 🙂 I can’t believe how cute those little guys are. Can’t wait till they’re back in stock.
I wanted to commend Melody on this ADORABLE sculpt and the painter(s )who painted them! Just got mine in yesterday and in love. The wings look incredible and the metallic detailing is an awesome finishing touch! So whimsical and unique! Thank you!
“puppy dog eyes” Real life pictures please? “puppy dog eyes”
I’m just throwing this out here. I think glass/crystal horns would look pretty nifty. Maybe I’m just weird.
On the right piece I bet those would look amazing, but they’d probably be harder to make than the metal ones. And much more fragile 🙂
The Violet flames are going to be production or limited production. Wendy (One of our production painters) was able to come darn close to the original Violet flame color, using the red paint we have available now.
We will do all the dragons in that color, eventually.
The uni colts are a grab bag batch of natural, boring, realistic horse colors.
We are now running out of baby unicorn horns, so I’m not sure when we will be able to make these in any production colors! If it’s a question of horns, then I prefer them not being available in production colors. There’s always a chance there’ll be something close in the GB batch. That way my baby uni can have an adopted sibling instead of a related sibling. 🙂
