That baking powder idea was pretty neat too. Did you submerge the dragon in the powder? Was it hard to clean off if so?
Stripey hooves are a characteristic of appaloosas, as well as mottled skin. 🙂 That is a really nice detail!
Medieval Times in Buena Park always has a smattering of Windstones in their gift shop. I was there last December, so it was a long time ago, but they’re not big movers. (I remember they were asking chunky prices.) They had a couple Emperors. I just can’t remember which ones for the life of me.
Don’t know what they have or if they’ll ship, but hey worth a shot 🙂
I used Febreze too, but misted it on a paper towel first, and then set the dragon on top. 🙂 That way I didn’t have to spray directly on the dragon.
A lot of times a really really good cleaning to get every last speck of dust out of every crevice helps. Dust from a cigarette smoker’s house smells strong.
Once the piece is clean, the best thing is a lot of fresh air. The larger the piece the longer it will take to air out but it’ll go away eventually. I haven’t found much else that works.
All pieces have found homes or are in transit! Thanks everybody who purchased a piece.

With the last batch of babies, Windstone asked those who purchased two from the first main bunch not to purchase more from the 24 put in later. It seemed to work. 🙂
Aww now I’m kind of sad I missed the stream. I was all ready to watch it and a friend called and got me to go to the fair/ carnival instead. I don’t supposed anyone did any print screens or things of them? Then again hopefully they’ll post a group picture anyway. These ones sound pretty wild!

Also, somewhat unrelated, but do you all think that Detroit advertisement is true stop-motion? Because if it is it is freaking awesome, all of the things going on, lights lighting up, and the super sweet camera movement.

Ebay or Paypal should be able to make it happen if your seller ghosts on you. Look up their “item damaged during transit/not as described” policy and go by the procedures outlined there. Even if the auction stated No Returns, if it arrives broken you can return it.
If it wasn’t packed properly, UPS/USPS won’t honor an insurance claim so I’d start with ebay.
Did you take pictures of the bad packing job? How small the box was in relation to the dragon, whether it was double-boxed or not, how much bubble was used, etc. Those kinds of photos are especially helpful.
Did you ask the seller beforehand if he would be double-boxed? Any correspondence from before the purchase, that proves you asked him to pack properly, will also help.
Sellers do NOT want negative feedback and will be willing to work with you to not have that happen. Especially if he’s already left positive feedback for you–he can’t ‘retaliate’ and leave negative feedback on you.
Be firm on what you’re asking for, but give him the benefit of the doubt and be kind. Even if all signs point to them being lazy/careless. It goes a long way with sellers when it comes to making a good compromise or getting a refund.

Blue Ice is that for sure. 🙂 And that icy blue without any warm tones is a nice compliment to the warm rich colors Windstone does. Actually, if it had more of the deeper blue on it I’d probably buy it. Love them deep blues. Most of the light blue schemes have had a lot of white and light teal in them, like the balance in this picture:
This is the same color palette for the most part but with the dark blue more dominant–I’d die of happiness if this was put on a dragon and it’s basically the same color scheme! Just balanced more toward the dark.

Yah yah–I would send him back and start over. It’s discouraging, but not so bad–Peacock Laps are common enough that you should be able to get a very nice one for $190, and sooner rather than later also.
I mean shoot, I got a mint-with-tag Em. Pea Lap for $175 less than 6 months ago. You paid for a mint dragon, you should get a mint dragon for that price.
Sucks to go back to square one, but you’ll be able to find another Peacock Lap. And the seller will feel the ‘lesson’ in this much better: Pack your Windstones correctly!
Albino is a LP kirin color already.
Oooooh I hope this means parents for the albino babies someday soonish. :3
I would LOVE for Blue Flame to be the new blue if it came down to Blue Flame or Blue Ice as an LP color. I just think the deeper blues look better on the dragons than the lighter ones. Clearly I’m the minority though! And the icy blue colors looked great on the Ki-Rins. Blue Flame is just one of those jaw-dropping, gotta-have-it colors for me. Anything with “Flame” in the color name 🙂
Though Blue Ice LP means I can save up my pennies for the next color scheme I can’t live without, so it’s all good 😉
I STILL can’t wrap my head around this. So many questions:
1) Why did the ducks need to be dressed up
2) HOW did they get the dresses on the ducks
3) Are they at a parade?
4) There’s a lot of work in those dresses…. (not a question I guess but I’m just impressed XD)
4) How do the dresses fit so perfectly, are there duck dressmaker dolls out there? Did they get an ‘eating’ duck at the grocery for this purpose? O_o
5) You can tape hats to ducks and they don’t seem to mind? Buh?
