Though, maybe we can swing some “in progress” photos of the painters at work! I’ll have to ask about that one!

You could use the little black censorship box.

        D) All of the above!

        I love:

        Behind the scenes photos

        Up and coming Products

        In progress color/sculptures

        Candid photos of the “Crew”

“Get to know your Windstone Workers” would be cool ^^

Videos would be fun, I love when Chessie does the livestreaming and other people show up in the background

I’d also love to see things like how things are made and stuff

Yes, this!! I love the creative process just as much as the final product. I would love to see work stations, pictures of molds, and in-progress stuff. 🙂

OK, I will be posting photos throughout the week. Here’s the first. This is “Augury”. This was a commission that didn’t turn out the way the commissioner wanted… which is totally awesome, because I desperately wanted to keep him! LOL. This one will be a match for my other interference wolf, “Mystic”. I now have one in cool colors and one in warm colors.

The liger phoenix needs tails stripes, then I will post a few pics. I’m done with the kimono uni (she’s looks just like the first one), and I’ve started on the maltese.

I want to give everyone a heads up that the reddish brown eyes from Tohickon vary quite a bit from the photo on their website. I just ordered some thinking I had ordered these before, but I think what I had was Van Dyke’s hazel eyes. The reddish brown eyes are almost dark brown… unless you take a picture of them with flash, then they look just like the ones on the website. >.<

I don’t know what brands of paint you use, but I use a lot of transparent colors for layering. Maybe give him a nice wash of tan/beige to warm up the color palette and knock back the constrast a bit (his “whites” are just a little too white to match the museum pieces). I also agree about changing the eye color; I think light brown would look really nice.

This is turning out to be a really neat piece! 🙂

Tried a search, but wasn’t coming up with anything useful–has anyone tried using gems on the Ki-Rin’s tail? That last curve on the display side closest to the hooves is just itching to be filled. Unfortunately, all I have on hand right now are the 3mm gems from the small dragons, and those are just a tad too big.

If anyone has smaller gems lying around & can try it, I’d appreciate it so I don’t order the wrong size! 🙂 And if anyone has other spots on the Ki-Rin they’ve filled, I’d love to see a pic.

And a followup question as I just opened etsy to look at the smaller gem sizes–does anyone use flat backs, for any of the sizes? Pros/cons/things to think about size-wise?

Jolie, I am a gem-o-holic and will put gems all over. LOL. I started putting 4 on the kirin. Two on the tail, two in the mane. Sorry, they are not the best pics. I had my Mom text me the photos (some of my Windstones are staying at her house while I renovate). They are size pp12 (about 2 mm).

Tohickon makes a lovely reddish brown. 🙂 If you are ordering from Windstone, you would have to pick either the light brown or light red… depending on which direction you want to go.

Thanks guys, this is the final post! 🙂

Mambo is now sealed and jeweled. The last thing I do is make a little profile page…. um, because I’m anal… and I don’t like random things in the background. 😳

The purple came out a little better in this pic, but it still a little blue.

                      ALL DONE!! 😀

I made a little step-by-step thread for a muse a couple years ago. Maybe you can get some info from this and tailor it to suit your painting needs. 🙂

While I don’t use Sculpey, I have started working with polymer clay.

Just 2 words… PASTA MACHINE!! It makes kneading clay SOOO much easier. It is a definite must have for me.

Sculpey also makes something called Diluent if you feel your clay is short on plasticizer. As for rebaking, you can use a dab of liquid clay to help if you are adding clay to your piece.

I’m a bit new to clay, so someone else may have more info. 🙂
