What beauties Arlla! I can’t think what opera Cherubino is from…sounds familar though. I really like the little quagga =) He is just plain ole cute!
Marriage of Figaro by Mozart. 🙂

(scroll down to see them…) #855672I wish I could mix it up with the eye colors, but every other color I tried on them looked buggy and weird. So they all get brown. Don’t know if you can really see it, but there’s also a bluish violet sheen on the quagga’s egg. Should I think of real names for these guys? Or just call them ‘quagga’ ‘appaloosa’ and ‘okapi’? I keep wanting to name the okapi Cherubino, but I doubt anyone likes opera as much as I do.

I took a couple suggestions from people who posted in my staff gallery, and picked one myself – I have a weakness for appaloosas. So on the left we have a quagga, the appy in the middle, and an okapi on the right. The pegasi themselves are glossed, and the eggs have a matte finish.
Quagga:
Appaloosa:
Okapi:
For some reason I couldn’t get a decent shot of the underside of the okapi’s wing, but it’s got a little gold shimmer.
I’ll be sending these along to the factory this week, but I can’t say when they’ll actually go up for sale.

-J R R TolkienMy rainbow lap is back up for sale, mint with hangtag and box, absolutely no flaws what so ever.

-J R R TolkienProduction white all the way. The whole set would look DREAMY in white. I love Olympia’s stuff, but that sun just gives me a case of the ‘blech’s!

YES YES YES PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE

-J R R TolkienNot sure, but I think you guys are talking about Olympia’s “pearl gold” oriental?
Myself, I really want to see the whole oriental family in the original White color that the other white dragons are painted in. I don’t know what it is about Olympia’s, but it really doesn’t do it for me. The black nose maybe? I remember someone mentioning that he reminded them of buttered popcorn, and now that’s all I can think of.

They are my favorite. And I am sick of dragons… they like to get in fights with each other.
Now I’m just picturing little dragons squabbling on the eye station table, hang tags flying, dixie cups of eyeballs tossed over…

-J R R Tolkien:bigsmile: thank you for all the pretties. Thay arrived fast and safe and sound. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
Very glad to hear! Thanks again for letting me know they arrived safely.

-J R R TolkienSoooo happy! ^___^ The orientals are my FAVORITE. And I do remember the horror of cleaning up the seam lines in the castings D: I’m curious to see how the new molds will work.

-J R R TolkienOh man, that’s one of the coolest suits I’ve ever SEEN! 😀 WOW. Congrats on getting that made! Jeez… I don’t know if I’ve ever wanted a suit of any kind, but now I kind of do… I really like the legs – I know they’re beefy, but they actually do look like they’re jointed right, which I don’t know how you could do better except maybe with those springy stilt shoes. How do you open and close the mouth? Is it rigged up to your own jaw somehow?

-J R R TolkienI’m in So Cal of course and did giggle a little at all the fuss over the east coast earthquake – but when I really think about it, shoot, I feel for you guys – your buildings probably aren’t earthquake proof AT ALL. If you actually have a good shaker, you’re kind of screwed!
I’m still dreading the ‘big one’. I know it’s coming. The fault had a very reliable window of about 40 years, and we are DUE. It could happen any day, or ten years from now, but it’s coming. Sometimes makes me wish I’d never learned about plate tectonics in college! Also makes me think I might want to take the mirrors out of our bed canopy so we’re not sleeping under large panes of glass….

-J R R TolkienI think the 2-per rule might be a little misunderstood. It may need to be stated more clearly if it’s a 2-per HOUSEHOLD or 2-per CUSTOMER rule. I for one suggest that it should be HOUSEHOLD given the competition for these things, in the spirit of giving everyone a chance who wants one.
